  1. Yeah problem is however, I don't always know what provider they're using Too bad. If you knew their service provider you could just send them an e-mail. Most SMS cell phones can send and recieve regular e-mail. For instance, if they have AT&T you use their 10 digit cell phone number and add @mobile.att.net. If they have cingular you use their cell phone number and add @mobile.mycingular.com. etc..... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  2. Agreed. Tandem students are unpredictable at best. Some come out and arch like an angel, as they are taught. Some grab your ass..... Some ball up like a baby and scream! Some come out straight and stiff like a board....etc, etc, etc. How'd any cameraflyer like to be the cause of -more- shit hitting the fan with these folks, if he/she insists on making linked exits with the pair. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  3. Well, with a handle like 'skysprite' what -was- the waitress to think? Going against your persona and all..... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  4. Zipper or velcro closure? How is the pc101 secured in the pocket? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  5. How big is the recorder sitting on your belly? You conveniently left that out of the picture. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  6. Congrats on your successful 3 AFF jumps!
  7. Talk with hottamaly, but something -could- have been done to accommodate your glasses. When I went in and tried on their Mamba she mentioned that she could possibly build up the foam in the front of the helmet...thus keeping the helmet's visor off my glasses better. Put more foam in the front and less in the back puts the helmet farther forward on your head. It is a sweet helmet and I look forward to getting one myself this year. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  8. Another good friend of yours got hit by an opening so hard it broke lines and left her stunned for several hundred feet. On a Spectre. Then she did it again a few weeks ago, not hard enough to break anything but hard enough that her neck is still feeling it. Again on a Spectre. Any canopy can open hard. That said, 99% of the time I love Spectre openings.
  9. You could try a Pelican Case or Storm Case. Both are great and sturdy. However, if you want to put all your stuff in one case....and check it at the airport....remember they have weight limits. I believe it used to be 70 lbs and recently went down to 50 lbs. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  10. See if you can put the still camera up top and the video up front. Speaking from a therapist stand point you're going to really hate yourself the first time you get a hard opening unless you fix the set-up. Also, just in case you haven't thought of it....cut the ring site post down (alot) and then move the screw head portion of the clamp to the inside of the post...away from riser strike (read:line snag) territory. Your set-up looks pretty snag-a-licious. Good luck with what you have, and beg santa for a better helmet asap. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  11. You know that won't happen as long as Bush is enabling Fox and his plans. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  12. Sorry. I don't have the TI's IRM here handy at home. Believed it was 5, but perhaps I was mistaken. Talking with Tandem I/E's, they wish it were more jumps than only 500. When they teach those with only the minimum requirements they see a stark difference in quality of judgment and flying proficiency between those and other individuals who have both more jumps and more years of seasoning in the sport. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  13. I agree 100% with you. A TI should not have to worry at all where the cameraflyer is. This is the trust that must be demonstrated and understood. A TI has alot on their plate working with their student they do not need the extra worry of an inexperienced cameraflyer. (and yes, the post above yours makes me want to rant, too). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  14. Where I jump it is required that you be an AFFI or have 500 jumps and be checked out by the chief instructor and the TI's before you can shoot camera for the school. Also, here in the U.S. the minimums for becoming a TI is that you have 500 jumps -and- be 5 years in the sport. Seasoning over years, they found out, made a huge difference in the mental maturity of a TI. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  15. In flying in the air, I don't even worry about the burst rate. The rate that I click is fast enough for jazz. Now, on the ground...the burst rate is quintessential. Not necessarily for tandems, but for swoopers and other sports. Things happen way too fast for a hang-up like a small burst rate number. ltdiver Lori, I disagree sort of. I think 14 is plenty for burst rate for swooping... What else do you think 14 is not enough for? I do think the significant difference lies in the 3 fps vs 5 fps. And you can use to burst rate in freefall if yuo want to. I did for that thing I showed you. 45 shots in a row just cause I could and it was neat. Since I still shoot film often, I do find that I get stuck in 36 shots mode and I don't use my 20D to it's full potential sometimes. If you're clicking as slow as jazz, maybe you should listen to techno. peace lew btw, that 23 burst rate for the 20D is for raw+jpg. I shot 45+ burst in large fine, jpg only. it's like firecrackers. In my mind I was comparing the Rebel to the 20D's burst rate. That makes a HUGE difference in getting the shot of swoopers, etc. I'm comparing 4 to 23 (or even 14). As for using the burst rate in the air. Yeah, you can and many do. I just have not found it being -needed- like on the ground. I can shoot just as fast with my Rebel as I can with my film camera.

  17. Yep. I like what the digital rebel can do for me as a freefall amateur photographer. However, if you want to get into a much nicer looking photograph and step up to something a lot more advanced in its quality, the 20D is the way to go. (and if finances allowed the 1D would be nicer. ) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  18. Is this the job you're trying to take from him?? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  19. No. He broke his neck. Corticosteroids when taken for a prolonged period of time does cause osteoporosis, but that is not the same as anabolic steroids that men take to bulk up. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  20. 200 is the tastest shutter speed you can use a flash with the 300D. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  21. Think he's talking about a regular 35mm camera, not a digital one. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  22. FYI, this camera's fastest shutter speed that the flash will work with is 200. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  24. April 14, 1974 Was Easter. I know because it is my GF's B-day too and she said she was born on Easter. Maybe your girlfriend is older than his wife. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
