  1. I just thought I'd share my story of how I came to drive a $200 1984 Toyota Camry. Years ago, before I was a skydiver, I saw the car of my dreams. A mint condition 1979 Pontiac Trans Am, selling for $5000. After seeing it, I took all of the money that I had been working hard for over the past few years and bought it. For years, I loved this car... until I started jumping. With my DZ being 75 miles from home, I was beginning to spend a lot of money driving 300 miles each weekend in a car that got 8 mpg on premium gas. Anyways, to make a long story short, about 6 months ago, my car had the misfortune of getting wrapped around a Buick (other driver's fault). The car was totalled, and here I was with a $5200 check from her insurance company. Although I was sorry to see the car go, this was definately a blessing in disguise. Well, I'm sure you can guess what I did. I bought the cheapest car I could find ($200) and spent the other $5000 on a brand new custom rig. Although all my whuffo friends thought I was nuts, I don't regret the decision for a second. So far, both the car and the rig have managed to get me from point A to point B safely, and I couldn't ask for anything more. Plus, with a car that gets 30 mpg, that's a lot of money (jump tickets) I'm saving.
  2. Dude, that is some sick SHIT!!! Honestly, I am a creative individual, who can get off on most anything perverted...BUT WHO HONESTLY DOES THIS STUFF?!!!!! Anyone on here ever had it done, seen it done, got off on it?? Just checking. Cheers for the site, Dave, but MAN that is gross! Arohanui, B NZPF A-2584
  3. By the Way Carrie it is "SPREAD the Love" at Skydive Chicago not Share the Love. Though both are getting out the right message - Spread/Share the Love of Flight and the people who fly!!!!!!

    Cost of a DZ

I wonder if anyone has an idea of what a small dropzone would cost in the US. Not counting the hangar which would be rented, one C-182 and approximately 18 student rigs. I am pondering the purchase of one sometime in the future and I don't believe a real estate agent would be of much help in giving advice in this matter. How would one go about deciding on a reasonable offer in such a case? (Sangiro, I know you can figure out who this is, but I'd appreciate it if you would not reveal my identity for now. At this time, and probably for another year or two, it's just a slim possibility. Thanks.)
  6. Thats "Spread the Love" @ SDC
  7. Damn, I was in Vegas a year ago that weekend! My Dad however is going to be there again. He doesn't skydive but he is however going for the Richard Petty racing school!
  8. Yeah Wingie!!! You darn well better still be alive!! And you darn well better bring your butt (tee-hee, grin, we've all seen it) back here in one (shall we say) piece!! This makes week #2, how much longer you gona be there? Bwilling has adopted Sis as his little sister, I'm officially adopting Wingie as my oldest son!! Son, if you need anything, just let mom know (let's try and keep our minds out of the gutter here, I'm serious). Divadiver
  9. Hey Sangiro, Why did my last post show up as nonregistered and anonymous. I logged in. What happened?? Do I get credit for this anyways towards my "enthusiast" title?? Triple F
  10. Dutchieman, Do you have or have you seen all the t-shirts that are being worn around S/A about the nascar/200 thing?? Check out the small name on the freeflyers jumpsuit. (gotta turn it upside down to read it) Then get back to me. I'll explain. Triple F
  11. Sangiro has better things to do than to give you Super size your order. So deal with it and keep 'em posting!!! P.S. did you want fries with that?
  12. Are you looking for that last person to fill a 4/5 way? Need someone to fill the plane so it can take off? Well the sooner I can get work, the faster your probs are solved! Some may call this desperate, but hey, I need a job and I can't think of any better way to network yourself than through like-minded people. I have just moved to GA and am looking for work. I have degrees in Economics and Management from THE top University of the S. Hemisphere. If you know of any positions (entry level or low exp.) available in either Economics(financial analyst or consultant) or Management (consulting) then I would love for you to drop me a line and give me a push in the direction. If you know contacts that I can use you with, or if you work for a company that might be hiring...I'm your person. Doesn't matter what industry, I will try my luck with all of them. I would appreciate your time and help. Cheers, Arohanui, B NZPF A-2584

    What a joke

Wow, you don't look at a thread in a while and you get all sorts of talking about you *behind* your back.
  14. Cheers for that. I like the second one better cause I can relate to it, but I appreciate the speedy response. Arohanui, B NZPF A-2584
  15. Just a quick one that can go away soon, but I have checked and checked through my NZ manual and I can't find what PLF stands for. could someone educate a new transfer. Cheers! Arohanui, B NZPF A-2584
  16. Go to downloads.com for any programs you might think you would need. They have hundreds to thousands of FREE downloadable software. Even the likes of new Microsoft updates and cracks for pirated software. Just thought I would help. Arohanui, B NZPF A-2584
  17. There is also an EXCELLENT suit maker in NZ who will make you what ever you want for a suit. I have a RW suit and have gotten raves about it since I have moved here. I have seen his freefly suits and they are "shit hot!" He is a professional jumper himself (out of Christchurch) and if you have an idea, or particular colours he will match them perfectly. The biggest draw to buying one of his suits is that the US to NZ dollar is so high right now. 1$us to 2.4$NZ. He usually charges in the neighbourhood of 350$NZ for a suit, but with the exchange rate that beats ANYTHING on the market. And his logo is quite cool as well. Anyone intersted can contact him by email. His name is Billy "the Flying Maori" Thompson. His email is "flyingmaori@yahoo.com" He can fill you in on the time, but I got mine in a month, yours could be faster! Tell him Blaine sent you. Arohanui, B NZPF A-2584
  18. I know Tony Suits makes the patch pants, so if you ask them real nice, they might make a suit for you. Also, there is a couple, I think they are based in Hawaii, that make custom jumpsuits. Do a search on the links on this page and you'll probably find them. Catscan
  19. Happy Birthday Froggie!! It's Catscan. Just didn't feel like logging in (puter takes too long...) Stacy, groovy pants on your 'downwind landing' pic. Frog-er, let's get that picture thing rollin again, eh??
  20. I am about to invest in a camera and am searching for all the advice I can get. Don't worry, I am also talking to the C-flyers at my DZ, but I thought I would ask the general pop'n. Which is better? I have looked at the Sony PC-5 and PC-10. There is also a wee camera out by sony that is like half the size of anything else I have seen. Any recommendations? Arohanui, B
  21. No, not bashful at all. Just thought he wouldn't want to see my naked arse bumping uglies for 10 minutes before he nearly fell out of the sky. Laughing of course!! This whole sexual harrassment issue is another forum thing altogether. My sister works at a corporation where this guy comes to visit often (from another office elsewhere in the states) and ALL the ladies talk about how "gorgeous" he is. He is a happily married man with kids, but hey, if they can think that...why can't we? What is with this double standard? They even refer to him as ".....the bod"!!! I mean surely if you're a beautiful woman (regardless of what "assets" you might have) you would have been told by someone at sometime in your life that you were beautiful. So when a guy looks at you admiringly (or looks at the cleavage that you have shown by wearing a low cut dress/blouse) why is that a crime? I am not permitting making lewd gestures, or saying inappropriate things, but c'mon people...we're all adults. We all have hormones. If you show it...it will get looked at. Don't stress out over it...be complemented. At least we looked. You could not have gotten a look and then thought that your efforts to dress attractively weren't appreciated. You came out ahead. Any other Harrassement issues/thoughts? Arohanui, B
  22. Enough with the negative emails, I promise. Here is a typical question of a whuffo, but I have heard the term thrown around and would just like someone to clarify it for me. I understand the obvious...that is how much each wing is weighed down by, but could you explain the number system and tell me what I should be looking for. cheers for this. May as well kill time while the rain is coming down. Arohanui, B
  23. I am a little confused. How is it that one (1) DZ can be listed in three (3) states. ASC (which ever name you associate with it) has 3 separate listings all claiming to be "in" each of its states. Wonder what the soldiers of the civil war would have thought if they captured a confederate who was from 3 different states. They probably would have thought he was totally confused and probably shot him on principle. Anyhow, I am just upset at what this world is coming to. Sorry. Without getting personal, I am just wondering if this bothers anyone else. Who is this "guy" really trying to fool? Makes me sort of regret jumping there.
  24. I normally jump a 170 sabre. Yesterday I jumped a 169 Safire. I don't know about pack volume, because it was a whole different rig. Flying it was cool though. The opening was abit quicker than my sabre. Surprised me, but not hard. I have worked hard to get that sabre to quit slamming me. Flight seemed smoother. It seemed to turn a bit quicker, with toggle and riser. But not radically so. I had a good spot and aimed for the pad in the middle of the peas. Missed it by 6inchs. Not bad for the first time under a new canopy. All in all I would say it is similar to the sabre, but a little quicker and without the fear of the bad openings. I am going to buy a 149. I am loaded at 1.1 now, the 149 will put me at about 1.3.
  25. Well, some of you may find this pretty ugly to think about considering who you jump with, but... Has anyone ever...had/considered/heard of someone having...sex (for real)on the ride up to altitude? I recognise the mile high club is mainly reserved for the privacy of commercial airliners toilets, but how about on jump run? Call me what you will, but what could we name this "new" club? Cause I was just wondering what to do with my partner when she gets her licence and comes for a visit. I guess i would have to pay the pilot to fly with a blanket behind him or something
