My favourite thing to do drunk is to get thrown out of pubs, tackle friends into concrete, and get really mad at my loved ones. (well if you go buy the past few years I have been drinking, this would be the instances I have had happen most often) Thus the reason I am laying off the sauce. Not sure if it was a problem, or I just get excessively loud and others trying to chill me out get the shit end of the stick. Anyway, in my personal opinion, when I am drunk I just love to chill at a pub with my mates and dance with my partner (you know...stir up feelings for later Well that is all. B

Was it easy to get into the classes? I have always wanted to go to skydive U. Do tell more, types of lessons, wind tunnel sensations, etc. I am interested in learning more. Arohanui, B

Best advice I can offer is to get her involved as much as possible in everything. Your training class, the DZ operations (have her volunteer for manifesting or learn to pack). Two particular couples' other half at my old DZ got heavily involved in it. One did the manifest while the other did a lot of office work. Basically education is king, but also respect that if she is scared, then she is scared. After all, she did marry you and loves you till death doth you part. She probably never expected you to start an inherently dangerous sport after she said, "I do". So make it fun for her as much as possible. Bring the kids, get them into the sport. The more comfortable they feel with the sport, the more comfortable they might feel with you doing it. My two cents, B

I pack my safire the same as sabers but i dont roll the nose. They open pretty slow anyhow. The safire will seem a little faster because its lightly elliptical. I don't know if you'll see a radical difference between a 150 saber and a 149 safire. Get a demo before you buy. I love my 135!

Hook turning is not the devil, true. But hook turning at low altitude could be an unforfivable sin. If u want to hook it low, go for it. The point is from incident reports skydivers are dying from making radical turns close to the ground. I can't speak for others, but when I come in for a landing and I am about 600 feet up I am scanning the landing site looking for the optimal landing, looking at short and long. Then when coming in for landing and I am 100 hundred feet up I am resolute in my choice. If I am going to be short or long I don't care, at that altitude I can't change too much. I definitly can still steer to avoid any obstacles, but I am not doing a 180, I am just going to ride it out. If I have to PLF, so be it, as long as I can make another load in the day or another day I am happy.

This one touches a soft spot with me. Up until 3 weeks ago I had hair down to my middle back. I went through my whole student status and beyond like this. If you don't mind wind tugs you will do fine. I rode a motorcycle and skydived, so I got used to them. BUT after jumping with short hair...I can preach about its benefits. But don't be so naive to think you have to cut your hair to join the community. We aren't a 'frat' and how else would you explain so many female skydivers?! (not that all of them have long hair, just to remain pc) Arohanui, B
