  1. Where are my f*&^&ing freefly pants?
  2. look in the womens forum under jumpsuits. I posted the pattern I use for Men's pants and when I find the pattern I use for women's I'll post that there also. All I do is make from the knee down wider and add 3-4 extra inches for the poofing effect. I did make a pair with velcro cuffs, but now I just use elastic since I'm lazy. I posted pics of my pants in that jumpsuit thread....as soon as TG sends me pics of hers I'll post her in her pants and Derek in his TandemMaster pants. (lots of cordura and pockets) Fly it like you stole it!
  3. Amen brother!!! Where's my f*&^&ing Midol. Fly it like you stole it!
  4. WOW I had 4 emails in that account. Yikes and they are like a year old.... Email??what email?? Fly it like you stole it!
  5. I just read your profile and saw that you are a senior rigger with a back rating. That is definately a way you can make money. Go to the local airports and put up fliers saying that you are available to pack pilot bailout rigs. If you don't know how to pack a round I know of 1 rigger for sure here in CO who can teach you, (he even has his own rounds). It's a way to get known around your local airports and it's a service you can offer a DZ that your team decides to jump at in exchange for jumps or whatever. Fly it like you stole it!
  6. Hey Canon City, CO is 250 miles from you also and they have a Caravan, which has an otter style door and is a turbine aircraft. Also, the USAFA cadets train there and Bob (The DZO) has gotten them some awsome group deals on gear and such. PM me if you want more info about the DZ. Fly it like you stole it!
  7. Because anyone can buy a surfboard and go out and do it. They might get hurt or whatever, but there are no waivers to sign and the water is free for all to use. To skydive they aren't just going to let you on a plane, you have to have training and proof of that training. Sure you can go and buy gear, and it will look really cool sitting on your couch at home, cause that is far as it is going to go. Actually call squareone and buy gear, but please ask for Lisa....she will hook you up right. Please do yourself and your instructors a favor. Don't skydive, cancel your apointment. I know I know....don't feed the trolls....but I can't help but feed strays. Yeah I take all of 15-20 min to get ready to go to the DZ too.....Derek likes me all sleepy, mussy, sexy in the morning at the DZ....of course I do have little devil horns until he gets me my starbucks and a bagle. incoming!

Does this mean you come coming to Colorado to join us hiking a 14er? Fly it like you stole it!
  9. I feel your pain girl....I broke my wrist snowboarding last december 3 days before I was to head to eloy for a skydiving vacation. Of course it had to be my right wrist so pulling was out of the question. I was lucky though, got my cast off in 4 weeks, although it took another 4 weeks for it to feel 100%. Now it just aches every once in awhile. The hydrocodone they gave me didn't work for shit, it was weak perscription (my midol has more mgs). So a took a few aleve and felt no pain. As soon as you can though quit taking pain pills, my Doctor said they can slow down healing.....not sure if it's true or not, but after the 1st week I didn't touch another one. Good luck with your arm, hope it does as well as my wrist. Fly it like you stole it!
  10. Well I'm not 100% sure how icarus does it, I have heard that the standard is relining it with the 2 trim, but I have also heard you can still request the 1 trim. Fly it like you stole it!
  11. Hooknswoop has a performance option that changes the steering lines to basically the safire2, same recover arch as the 1 just more flare and softer openings. You can also send your safire back to Icarus and they will replace your entire lineset to the 2s specs which means shorter recover arch, more flare, softer openings, and a few minor differences in flight characteristics. Fly it like you stole it!
  12. I think maintenance is the biggest issue here, both systems can fail. You are suppose to replace your lines at ~400 (give or take), and how many time have you seen classifieds that say 800 jumps still has original lineset and they look great. My rule of thumb is, at ~400 jumps replace lines, slinks, and risers. All 3 components take wear from openings and the slider. I think part of the reason people don't like slinks is the fact that they don't want to have to replace a component....Ever! Fly it like you stole it!
  13. Only problem I have found with dateing another jumper, is that after 2 years you are a couple, and you are no longer a jumper by your own strengths. If I hear....."Oh, you're Derek's girl friend" one more time I'll scream.....hehe...of course he gets plenty of "Oh you are Kelli's Boyfriend." It does worry me sometimes when I get invited on loads that he is on if it is only cause he is my boyfriend. To make a skydiving relationship to last though takes more than just skydiving together. You have to have intrests outside of jumping together. The more activities in common the easier it is to find things to do on weekdays and rainy weekends. Also, if heaven forbid one of you decides jumping isn't for you, you still have things in common. Fly it like you stole it!
  14. Here is the thread http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=206868;search_string=search_string;#206868 Like every thread where someone so much as whispers s-links, this one became a huge debate also. Fly it like you stole it!
  15. Here read this on line dump. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=121846;search_string=line%20dump;#121846 For line dump to happen you need to have a very large D-bag and and very tiny stowes, and that is only for an out of sequence deployment. Line dump means the locking stowes break open before the rest of the stowes release causing the canopy to come out of the bag before it gets to line strech. I sprained my t4-t8 on a brutal sabre opening that was due to still tracking when I dumped. We have AFF video of a student completely stable throwing out and WHAM intant canopy, the thing is in the video you see every stow release normal. Derek has asked several times now for someone to show him video of linedump, people are always videoing openings, and no one has been able to come up with one. So if any of you guys have video of line dump please send it to hooknswoop. BTW....you may want to read this experiment done by a fellow DZ.commer.....only lines stowed were the locking stowes, kindof like the new D-bag javalin is coming up with. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=425419;search_string=openings;#425419 From Sunpath's webpage Bandless D-Bag You may have seen a rubberband-less bag at the Sun Path booth at the PIA Symposium. We are currently finalizing the design, and the bag should be available in the next 6-8 months. Contact Aggie@sunpath.com for more details. 2/25/03 There are pics of the D-bag somewhere here in the forums, but I can't find the post. Fly it like you stole it!
  16. As a side note the safire1 has a longer recovery arch than safire2. Fly it like you stole it!
  17. You know the way people swap parts around we should have one for each. In my case I have a reflex that had the SB done to it, So the card has to stay with the container, but then a lot of the reserve history is lost. Fly it like you stole it!
  18. Don't forget though...if/when slinks fail it happens on opening and it's a total failure. When rapide links fail, it's a crap shoot as to when the lines will fall off the link and is usually not found until the jumper is on the ground. I also know a guy who assembled his main slinks incorrectly and put 50+ jumps on them that way before he noticed, they never failed, even installed wrong. (Please don't go out and try this) I have also found rapide links on reserves that during the repack became unscrewed due to the same reason you found an incorrectly assembled reserve slink. Riggers not paying attention to detail. We have a whole photo album dedicated to rigger fuck ups. Some of which could have been fatal. I have both main and reserve slinks, neither my main nor my reserve have ever been on rapid links (grommet are not damaged). Everyone out there needs to make these choices for themselves after reading everything everyone has posted. If you do decide on soft links, and opt to get ones make by your rigger, becareful that they aren't the kind made with dacron line. I just bought a new main that was on risers that used these kind of soft links, one of the 4 was about to fail. Fly it like you stole it!
  19. OH my god......that is way to funny.....oh my stomach hurts. *bwahahahahahaha* Fly it like you stole it!
  20. Did 10 jumps on a student canopy at .48......I'm really good at landing backwards. Fly it like you stole it!
  21. Yes and that would be good punishment for another hook n swoop who takes great pleasure in pushing my kitty off the bed/chair/table/lap. I can go around and say he has kitties named after him. My kitty's name is Memnock (The Devil Kitty), it fits, he is red and always looking pissy. Fly it like you stole it!
  22. Naaaa...we stick him in the big duffus category.......Really it's big luv'able duffus....I swear. Please don't give me a bad spot. Fly it like you stole it!
  23. Did you fly a crossfire with the mod? Mine wasn't affected so it didn't need the mod, and it has a long recovery arch. The crossfire 2 had a longer one I think (only put a few jumps on one), and it was more sensitive to harness imput and such. Now if only I could sell my 1 so I can upsize and buy a 2. Fly it like you stole it!
  24. Ace hardware's brand - Ace Pure Silicon. We use it here in CO where it is VERY sandy and dusty, after use even if the owner didn't do a single 3 ring maintenance, the cables are fairly clean with just a few black spots rather than all black like normal. Fly it like you stole it!
  25. I've always ordered mine from radio shacks web page....usually get them in 2-3 day. I have noticed though that those don't last as long as the ones you get from L&B. Radio shack, ~50-100 jumps L&B 100+ just my experience. Fly it like you stole it!
