  1. omg a girl plays CS! OMG!!11 w00t ok sorry. I haven't played CS in months... that new version with the shields and stupid guns was just awful. any of you play Natural Selection? its another teambased mod, but its Aliens vs Marines... lots of fun. MB 3528, RB 1182
  2. what you have to do is put your rig on like 10 minutes before you get in the balloon... wear the legstraps under your pants and put a jacket on over the rig... don't put your altimeter on until its taking off and so nobodies is paying attention once you get at altitude take off the jacket while simultaneuously pointing out something on the other side of the balloon so they aren't watching... then suddenly start yelling and fall off... tell one of your buddies your plan so he can get video. 3. This doesn't relate to the opening, bit it also looks like you might have grabbed your risers way too early. The bag is barely off your back and you are grabbing both shoulders. I'm not sure, but i think you want to just stay stable in boxman until you are pulled upright. (note i'm not an instructor, maybe one tell us if this is correct) and did you do the full twist your back thing to check the chute or did you turn your head? MB 3528, RB 1182
  4. i don't know about hydrogen peroxide, but rubbing alcohol will clear your outer ears of water... in fact, almost anything that is miscible with water and has a lower surface tension will do... i imagine everclear or vodka would do the trick too MB 3528, RB 1182
  5. quote from the story: I don't know what type of computer he had, but storage bigger then 4 gigs was common even a few years ago. That little harddrive is pretty cool though. MB 3528, RB 1182
  6. on the inside of our cessna, the corner of the door has a little metal bar thing that is in a U-shape i believe. I was gripping that and i guess since i was pulled out to the back and down, it somehow caught it. MB 3528, RB 1182

    1.1 million

even like 2% commision on 1.1 million comes to... wow. what a better way to celebrate then buying everybody in this thread free jumps? MB 3528, RB 1182
  8. hey, like i said its nobodies fault... it was just a few little mistakes that only were a problem because i (stupidly) gripped the door frame too hard. wait, actually it was all shaun's fault. as the guy with the most jumps on the plane, he's responible for everything... including my fingers MB 3528, RB 1182
  9. I'll see. I don't wanna do anything too fast and rebreak the finger when i got that coach course coming up in less than a month. but then again i guess its not too dangerous and shaun does need to toss some s/ls. i get another x ray after spring break so i will see. haha, took me a while to figure out who you were though. MB 3528, RB 1182
  10. yeah something tells me that if the other passengers suddenly see a engine explode and then a guy gets outta his seat, puts on a parachute, and heads for the hole.... well, they gonna think hes responsible and probably hold him down. i'd vote for looking around for the nearest hot chick and asking her for a quickie before we die MB 3528, RB 1182
  11. I don't understand the "if you're lucky" part... how could it get worse then a pilot chute in tow? as I have heard from instructors before, it may or may not generate enough force to pull the pin... even if it does pull it out, its gonna take longer. MB 3528, RB 1182
  12. i think nightingale needs to post pictures of herself.... ummm to see how the jumpsuit would match your hair and stuff MB 3528, RB 1182
  13. figured i would post this in hope that someone might learn from my mistake. not gonna name names since i think a couple post here. on the sunset load we were gonna do a 4 way from our C182... participents included a couple fairly low time jumpers 30 jumps and 60 jumps. Me and my friend who has 200+ jumps decided to take the slightly harder slots since we had more jumps, so he took strut and I took door. on climbout, one of the jumpers gripped the wrong arm on me... so i reached over and shook his hand off and put it on my correct arm... and looked up just in time to see the group let go. One of the low time jumpers giving the count couldn't see me, and so she assumed that I was ready and did a quick count. This all wouldn't have been a problem if it wasn't for the fact i had gripped onto the door frame pretty tightly with one hand so that i could scoot out the door. My fingers all got caught on the frame on the way out as the group pulled me out of the plane. The dive was pretty screwed at that point, but 3 of us did manage to get back together and wait for the 4th. But basically now i sit here typing this with a pretty badly broken finger (on my right hand too so this has taken like 20 minutes to type haha) and a badly swollen and bruised hand. Anyways, lesson learned is don't jam your fingers into the door frame on exit, even when you are just climbing out, since the group can exit at any time, even if you aren't ready. I guess i got lucky with just a finger, it could have been more fingers or hand bones. and finally, am I the only guy who has managed to somehow break stuff on exit?? MB 3528, RB 1182
  14. i sprained something in my knee once landing... can't tell you what it was since i didn't go to the doctor. but basically i limped for about a week, and was sore for a couple more weeks. if it really bothers you, go to a doctor or sports medicine doctor. MB 3528, RB 1182
  15. instead of aiming for objects to hit, i would probably be trying to control the canopy to get it stable and landable MB 3528, RB 1182
  16. I think you fall slower than normal freefall speeds with a ball of crap... reason i say this is because some people who have bounced with a wad of crap or with a major main/reserve entanglement have survived with some relatively minor injuries... they couldn't have done that with nothing out. MB 3528, RB 1182
  17. i wish: 0:1 (from last weekend from getting my B) but i'm about to leave to go to the DZ so hopefully those numbers will change. MB 3528, RB 1182
  18. hate frats eh? i'm not in a frat... so how YOU doing? MB 3528, RB 1182
  19. yeah what skybytch said... usually people's favorite jumpsuit company is whatever they are jumping right now. that being said, i have and really like my bev suit. MB 3528, RB 1182
  20. seriously that thing scared the crap outta me. maybe its just late and i'm really tired, but it just freaks me out. MB 3528, RB 1182
  21. yeah frat parties are no good... you gotta buy some overpriced cup for the cheapest beer they can put in a keg. not to mention its about 50 guys and maybe 5 chicks. MB 3528, RB 1182
  22. yeah i get that a lot too. the annoying thing about it is that they think they are sooooo clever when they say something like "I don't think the helmet is gonna help you if you fall from 10,000 feet!! haahaha" MB 3528, RB 1182

    WTFO?

you ought to try jumping in kansas then... 15 mph winds is a normal day, 25 mph steady is jumpable, anything higher = cross-country's! MB 3528, RB 1182
  24. a few years ago the 17 year ones and the 14 year ones happened on the same year. the noise was just horrible... i think i heard on the news that at certain times of the day it was actually louder then a lawnmower right next to you. plus you couldn't walk around barefoot because you would step on the piles of dead ones laying around. MB 3528, RB 1182
  25. you know, from your name I assumed you would say "vanilla sky". for those who haven't seen it, its actually pretty good... for a chick flick . but mine would be: 1. Black hawk down 2. Half-baked 3. LOTR 4. Signs 5. Ricky-O MB 3528, RB 1182
