    it really depends on how much i am gonna drink and if i am supposed to be at the dz the next morning really early, or just sometime during the day. i try not to get really drunk the night before i plan to make a lot of jumps, because even if i don't get a hangover, i don't wake up till after noon, and half the day is wasted.     you are forgetting that those planes weren't loaded with anything. don't forget, a car by itself can barely hurt a building... but add explosives to it, like the terrorists are doing in iraq, and suddenly you can kill a lot of people, and do a lot of damage. and a small plane can go places cars can't.     I haven't done a balloon jump, but like on any jump that you think you might land out: 1. take a cell phone or some change 2. take a pull up cord in case you land waaaayy off because its easier to field pack then it is to walk a mile with a armful of nylon. 3. don't land off by yourself (this is my DZ's policy), so that if someone hurts themselve on an off landing, which is more likely, they will have at least one buddy right there to go for help, treat them, etc MB 3528, RB 1182
