Any canopy CAN be landed straight in....I have done straight landings on my Xbraced 88 when I had it, and I landed my Velo 96 straight in to qualify on it for my PRO. Xbraced canopies are much better wings than conventional canopies. My conventional ST107 at 1.7 does NOT land as nice if I don't hook it. It CAN be done, but its not as nice. How many jumps a year do you do? Me...I have 3,000 + jumps and jumps Stiletto 107 at 1.6 also. I have over 2,000 jumps on that sized canopy, and make over 300 jumps a year...And yet I still don't jump a Xbraced...I have, in fcat I have flow a Xbraced as small as 69ft. But I don't NEED it....I don't NEED the extra performance...So I don't have one. My ego does not make my gear choices. If you make less than 300 jumps a year, you are not current enought to jump a unltra performance canopy. Hate to break it to you, but 300 jumps a year is nothing. Ah, but here are the root problems. 1. Higher performance canopies mean low timers want higher performance canopies...While a Stiletto is still as high performance as it was 13 years ago....It is now seen as mid performance...Did the laws of physics change in the last 12 years? 2. Back when you were 1.4 at 300 jumps...I bet someone said it was a bad idea...And I bet you didn't listen either.... Add these two together and you have a guy with the same attitude you had with a MUCH higher performance canopy...This equals MUCH wose accidents and more of them. You broke your ankle....He may never walk again. I have said it before and here I go again.....Most people dont fucking need a Xbraced canopy....A guy that does 300 jumps a year should not have one...much less a guy that only has 300 jumps total. You may not be offended...But others WILL be offended. I bet if I planned an all guy only big way..It would start a shit storm. From the bit about the PGA and women players: Again its OK for Women, Blacks....Basicly anyone but a White Guy to have an exclusive club or group. So the LPGA can prevent me from playing in it, but the PGA has to allow everyone? I really suck at golf, and even from the ladies tees I would get smoked....But I can't play against them....I have to play against men...But they can play against anyone they want? I find it funny that its OK for everyone but white men to have an exclusive club. Thats not equality....You want equality? Either make women play in the PGA from the same tees, and get rid of the LPGA, or let anyone play in the LPGA. Yes. You don't need to be a member of the USPA to jump in the US...Only at a USPA member DZ. I can rent a plane, file a notam, get permission from a landowner and jump all day. I can also start taking students out AFF or even just kick them out solo from 10 grand or even 1 grand if I want all day long...None of that is illegal. BSR's are NOT FAR's And yes a person can jump without a license even at a USPA DZ...Students don't have a license. The USPA only requires you to join the USPA. My big head or not, many people have said you are dangerous...You fit the profile perfectly. A young skydiver with a few hundred jumps and a fast canopy that has been warned he is in danger and refuses to listen to advice from people with MUCH more experience. And you just seem to big headed to notice, your inflated EGO will not let you listen. I have helped scrape up many jumpers who were just like you. I have burried a few that were not lucky enough to survive their egos. As for drinking beer with you, jumping with you, and enjoying life with you...... I don't drink, but thanks the same...I'll have a coke. I'll jump with you, but I'm gonna watch you like a hawk under canopy...I have been told you have cut people off, and swooped WAY to close to other people. Enjoy life....Well I will. I am TRYING to get you to see that while the course you are on may SEEM fun....But one small accident and you are broken. Being broken sucks. No jumping, high medical bills...Hell I have friends that can barely walk after a skydiving accident. I have seen guys just like you that had promise of being the next hot thing in this sport, the future leaders, let their ego select the canopy they jump. One small mistake later and they are broken, washed up, or dead....Its hard to be the next hot thing when you are broken and your medical bills make it so you can't afford to jump. If you do break yourself and have to sit out for a year or better, its hard to get that edge back...And well a dead guy has never won the Nationals. One of my best friends is dead...His ego and his high level of skill failed him when he needed them...I jumped his main and reservre at the Nationals in 2002...I could not jump his rig since we could not get the blood stains out of it. And I STILL get advice. I have test jumped for two different canopy manufactorers, and I STILL listen to advice. I did 46 jumps LAST WEEK (which is 1/4 of your TOTAL jumps)...And I STILL listen to advice. Now, who has the big head? The guy that has 3300 jumps that still listens to advice when given to him. And he tries like hell to wake up the newer jumpers that are going down a dangerous path.
