Really fucking stupid comment...But what do you expect from Kerry? It's clear he plans on running on APPERANCE only. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Could be both actually. But there is a third option c) they were given the units and at one time they thought they were safe...Then after all the fires and the BS responses from the caompany, they decided to take the units out, or bypass the cutter, or just leave them off for fear of their personal saftey, but they are not ready to openly slam a sponsor in case they units turn out to be safe...But they are not willing to risk getting killed till then. You see a SMART skydiver does not jump a product just cause it was free or cheap just so they can be cool and be "sponsored". Well I do the STORY...Which is why I said But its clear you are so blindly following a product that you can't even look, or refuse to look at the posibilities that people with more time in the sport and more experience than you have seen dangerous products and companies before. You ever heard of a NOVA? Ever see one or jump one? Vigil is playing the same game that Glide Path did...Ignored a problem, then finnaly sort of admitted it in limited situations, then said there was a problem....But in the case of the NOVA several people died before GP came around. Because not one sponsored person I know is going to openly trash a product...ANY product. It hurts future sponsorship potentials.... Keep your head in the sand. People with MUCH more experience than you have seen problems with them...Just to inflate your ego and be seen as cool, keep jumping it. Wow, I only got a 68....And you thought my job was BS. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

No offense Kim, but you didn't answer any of his questions. Look I know you, and you know me...Hell I like you and think you are very skilled, smart and honest...It does not hurt that you are very cute. However, the company you are working for has not been very up front about issue it has had. The low pull in Zhills...Well I can see that one. But you really think Terry screwed up replacing a set of batteries? What about the DeLand in air fire at 3 grand? How many ground packing fires had to happen before Vigil did anything? Remember they denyed a problem till more fires happened. The Static line fire in Aus? The PSB saying it was OK to put the Vigil in a rig as long as you bypassed the loop around the cutter (Making the device nothing more than a 1,100 Pro Dyter). While I think you are doing your best and that you really do belive in the product...(Folks I do know her and she would NEVER sell a product she does not believe in). The facts are that the company is pulling some sneaky stuff. And we are taling about a device that could KILL someone if it misfires. I have heard sponsord people say that the only thing Vigil on them is a patch. Two DZ's that I know of have removed them from their rigs. Through all of this Vigil has NOT been open about any problem. They ignored the static issue till it became a clear problem. Never answered the in air fire at DeLand. And saying that Terry screwed up is a pretty lame answer to that fire. The PSB saying you can have it but it has to be rendered inop is the dumbest thing I have ever read from a company. I really do understand that you really do believe in the product or you would not sell it. I also understand that its your job to defend it. Why has Vigil avoided answering the in air fire question? You know I have no stake in Vigil or CYPRES. I am sponsored by neither and don't even work in the industry....So why do I ask these questions? I don't think the company is being honest about the problems. And another misfire could kill someone...there have already been two double outs. I don't want to see another Nova. Its not the only story I have heard about this, or the only team. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

I would not get white on a rig... Maybe just white pin stripping. But any large part, or any part that gets handled is not a good idea. I have a gray backpad....And left me tell you its ugly now. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Almost Quit Jumping -- Need Motivation!
Ron replied to jumpgod's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Jumping is not everything. One of my best friends just quit...3500 jumps Gold medal in Advanced 4way, Fantastic jumper. He is happier than he has ever been. Its not a sport for everyone. You can't make yourself like it. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334 -
If you are always waiting till you have the experience, you will never get the experience. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Maybe it just seems like more since they are celebrities and when they give birth it makes the papers and people talk about it....I bet some on here are twins...and we don't even know it. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Agreed, she said she has a problem with it....And I asked why? I then pointed out how the kids have a good chance at a good life...more of a chance than many other couples give their children. Lets not forget that the mother is not 65, and will live a normal life span...It is only KR who will die before the kids graduate college. And that the mother and KR do not have to work, so they can spend much more time with the kids than normal families do. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Lets see.....He is 65, and if he lives to around 80 that would mean he would be around for 15 years of his life. And those are the formative years. His WIFE is MUCH younger and will be around (Hopfully) much longer. Using your logic people should have to have proof they are gonna live for 30 or more years before they have kids. And I guess only fools would have children and then participate in a dangerous sport that might accidentally kill then before the kids are 30? Given the knowledge that the wife is much younger and that KR has enough money to care for them,a nd the wife will be able to care for them and not be at work...I would rather he have them than a couple of 22 years olds that both have to work min wage jobs leaving the kids to be latch key kids. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Why? Those kids are going to have a much better chance at a good life than some broke 30 something couple. And a much better chance than some 20 something single parent. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

I hope he gets better. I would be interested in hearing his story and seeing if it changes his mind any on WL BSR's. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Well it is an addiction...I'd like to see some of Oren's collection. And I have already been to Mayors a few times Which is worse? Watches or planes? Congrats now you are really a skydiver, like it or not. It has become a part of you so much, that you don't have to try and be one. If it wierds you out to see seats in an otter....Thats another sign "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Had a bag lock once around 500 jumps....I grabbed the risers and yanked like hell on them... Now I know that will not work. The amount of force being put on it by the PC is MUCH more than I could ever put on it. It cleared by luck...But I took WAY to long to mess with it, could have easily NOT cleared, and I wonder if I would have reacted fast enough to survive. New plan...I don't like what I see and its GONE. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

:1.5:37: $80.00 Humps...never any of your buisness. 1.5 hours of tunnel flying that makes about 7 hours this year. 37 team jumps $80.00 bar tab...Yes I drank this past weekend...Well only one day, and I paid for all three people. Formation skydiving will have around 60 4 way teams.....60 X 5 = 300 people paying a fee. Thats more than any other discipline. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Then lock it or delete it.....For that matter ban me. As long as she keeps giving canopy advice and tries to show a "blue print" of a canopy progression)I am going to contine to point out that she is not the best source. Now I hear she is better than she was, but that does not make her progression good. Its called doing what I can to prevent people from getting fucked up. Newbies cruze this site and see her and use her as the example... "Well, she did it" And if they only know HALF the story she looks like a success story..(well she didn't DIE so she is not a really bad example, but not a good example) Like I said, I am going to always try to keep people safe...You may not like that, or my methods.....But thats something I can live with...If you cant...Well thats your choice. Since you refuse to do a search...Geeze how hard is it folks? I had 250ish jumps and my buddy was vidoeing a tandem for his 300th...Hw wanted video so they rigged me up a helmet. Tandem pulled kinda low (but we didn't know it), he fliped on his back...I thought that was cool and fliped on my back for him... The first clue I was screwed was when I saw the horizon pass by my feet..I thought...Well, your dead! Pull somthing. As I was flipping over I was reaching for my reserve, and my main was deploying...When I realized I was low,I threw it and never knew. Lets just say I was WAY sub 1,000 feet. More like 500-600 when I got as canopy. Thank god it was a long time ago, and I had a Raven II as main, and not a stiletto. A two out would have required a CYPRES...And they were not considered a needed piece of equipment back then.... Wow you are hot....(respectfully) Your Ranger husband...I hope he ditched the "high n tight"...Those are worse than a mullet...And yes I have pics with me with the same damn haircut "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

the problem is Bill, she is going to say something like: But she has a very bad history of canopy flight. People need to know her opinion while she is fine to give it is NOT the best opinion out there. But like she said...The longer you are in this sport the more you understand risks...Which is why those with the expereince should be listend to. and that some it takes longer than others.....And that some don't know what those limits are...how can a new jumper be sure THEY know their limits when others don't?...I bet they ALL thought they did. and to skydivenflorida: Maybe you need to . . . Well sorry I have 4 people telling me you were kicked off, and only one (you) telling me you were not. either way at least one DZ said you could not jump that canopy there...And I was told there were reasons...So for you to claim that you did fine...Well there are atleast 4 people and one DZ that thinks otherwise.
