  1. That is the tackiest fucking thing I have ever read. You claim to be compasionate, then you say shit like that. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  2. Sure, go ahead and send it to Congress see if they think it is a s good as they did Bush's info. You see they voted in favor. Go ahead send the intel. I said "Anti US" not anti American...I know its hard for you to see simple things. See the President is elected by the people...Oh never mind, I don't want to confuse you with facts. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  3. With the fact that grown pot can have a wide range of strength, I doubt that a joint is more controled both in strength and time than a pill. I could be wrong, but that "evidence" seems shaky. It is proof that you need somehting, but if you can't get Marinol anymore how do you know ONLY Pot will help you? If you can't get any other drugs anymore, how do you know that NOTHING else will help you? Humans have also used poppies for years, but that does not make it healthy. Planters in Central America used to chew on leaves of cocaine...That is not health either. In Somalia they chew on khat...that does not mean it is healthy. I have said before I am OK with legal testing of THC, Hell, I said Im OK with trying to make it legal for recreational use....But its not legal yet, and don't confuse the two since it makes the medical side look bad. I know about AIDS, I don't have it, but I have friends that have died from it. Also, my Father has Cancer...So I know about terminal disease, my best friends wife died from breast cancer. Just because I don't have it, does not mean I don't know about it. Like I said, I support research. Hell if you want to toke for fun I don't care since I think it is safer than alcohol. People think I am anti Medical since I supported the SCOUS on the current rulling by not letting a State over ride a Federal law....Pot had nothing to do with that ruling, or why I supported it. It was a State trying to over rule a Federal Law, and I don't think States should have that right. Im sorry you have problems. Really. I wish that cannabis research could be done faster. But the Cheech and Chongs out there hurt your cause more than I do. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  4. And what you have failed to do time after time is prove any of this. You keep claiming it as fact but have nothing to back those claims up. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  5. Got proof? or are you just lying? Oh look guys!!! The required anti US slam. Bring proof, or quit lying. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  6. Well even big ass countries like the Us have problems handling the processing storage and waste produced by a nuclear plant. Even in the US the storage plans suck ass. And there is enough nuclear material floating around the world (The majority in the former USSR) to make 40,000 bombs! Chornobal killed 170,000 people. It was an accident due to lack of attention to detail. People who were working at Chornobal didn't have training, the plant was not maintained, saftey devices were ignored or broken.....Basicly they didn't take the potential accidents seriously.... Three Mile Island, same things almost casued a major death toll in the US...And the US is supposed to be a leader in nuclear energy? A country like Iran there is much more potential for the fuel or waste to be "lost". Also the quality of the programs and safety of them is unknown, but not thought to be high. The risk is great. And a major issue is the fact that they need nuclear materials...And those same materials can be made into bombs... I *Think* a CANDU reactor's fuel is not able to be made into a high yield weapon.... But thats a question for Kallend and both Bill's. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  7. Thats a BillV question.....I live in a trailer on a DZ "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  8. Maybe, but the majority of oil is used for cars and heating. It will take the continued focus on electric cars AND a viable electric heat pump to make the biggest improvement. And as you said better storage will be needed. I think it is the way we are going an NEED to go. But that does not mean it is the easy road. I have really been thinking of a hybrid for my next car...Hows that strike ya? Most on here would never think I would drive my Hybrid to the gun range I would also like to see a focus on solar. There was a house on that make over show that had an electric bill about 13 bucks a mth. BillV has a nice set up I hear. I think the cost is better spent on technology than on oil. I am waiting to see if the hybrids have any unusual mechanical issues...I drive 30,000+ miles a year, I need a car that will last 160-170 thousand miles without giving me too much trouble. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  9. Again, if you have proof of illegal activities...please present it. Nothing should make you happier than trying to get him Impeached...Proceed with my blessing. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  10. Well its the same thing about the two nukes dropped on Japan. We killed much more than that in one night with a conventional bomb raid...But it was not nuclear. Still people get all pissy about the two nukes and don't seem to mention the "normal" deaths. Its fear. I have seen it on nationals news...It was a city in PA. Its the potential they have. Chornobal killed 170,000 people...Last estimate I saw for the two nukes was 140,000. Actually one of the cooler stats I saw for Chornobal was something about cows in Iowa feeling the effects....Can't find it now, but if true...WOW! People fear nuclear power....I don't blame them...If people knew more about coal burning plants they would be afraid of those as well. Ignorance in one case causes fear, in another it causes acceptance. Go fiqure. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  11. Yes, but only a fool would give someone permission to do something they really do not want done. If they didn't want to give him permission, the time say that was right then, not after the fact. The knew what they were doing, but did it in a way that they could appear patriotic and still come back later and say they didn't *really* mean it. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  12. Thanks for the link...Interesting. But it did say "In reality, radioactivity at the level associated with the Chornobyl meltdown does have discernible, negative impacts on plant and animal life " While removing the effects of humans was good, I doubt you think the same kind of thing over here would be good for the environment....Still thanks, it was a good read and shows how humans really do not take care of our environment. Yes, but 3 mile Island was almost a disaster due to lackluster performance, not design. And that can happen anywhere. The Nuclear plant had gotten lazy and it almost cost us dearly. Like I said the idea is great, but care must be taken otherwise all hell could break loose... Can you imagine if 3 mile had been a total meltdown? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  13. Wow, you still flapping your gums? Bring something to the table next time....The evidence to invade was good enough for the President, The UN and Congress. You have nothing but emotions and hot air. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  14. Build new plants. A SGM told me once the solution to our problems with terrorists is to stop buying oil and it will take away their money...Leave them with oil and sand and tell them to eat the mix. As for more plants. I like the idea. The fact that there has not been a problem in the US is nice, but we can't forget Chornobal (an RBMK type reactor...One of the most common in the world, but one that is unstable at low power) where the fallout fell as far away as Great Britain, Norway, and France. Ukrainian health officials say 170,000 died as a result of the accident...About the same as BOTH nukes dropped on Japan. The land around the plant is not able to support life and will not be able for another 100 years. Three Mile Island had a 50% melt down...And while it was contained, if it had been much worse it would have been very bad. Also plants are very expensive. Seabrook reactor in New Hampshire was 11 years behind schedule, and 12 times more expensive than the original estimates. Some claim that nuclear energy will reduce our dependance on oil....Nice idea, but right now only 3-4% of our electricity is being generated by oil burning plants.-- Dr. Linda Berg, Professor St. Pete College, St Petersburg, FL. The US has 104 plants in operation....France is next with 59. France has the right idea, most plants are of the same design and that makes them cheaper and faster than plants in the US to build and run. Also training is much easier since they are all the same. I like the idea...But there are tons of questions left unanswered. Still I think it is the future and we might as well encourage it now so it gets here faster and before we need it. 15. Hell, for some facts almost anything would do...But you have yet to prove anything better than emotional cries, or quotes taken out of context. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  16. No, but we are in now so there is not much else to do. The UN, and both the House and Senate thought there was enough evidence to go....I am betting that they had more access to information than you or I. If you think they were wrong..Punish them. Vote them out at the first chance you get. If you can find evidence of illegal activities, press charges. So far no one has shown any proof of illegal activities, but they claim it all the time. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  17. Try facts, not emotion. Crying to me does not work, and it seems you can't back anything up with evidence. As for evidnece ot go...The UN and Congress saw enough to vote to use force. Go fish. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  18. Because it is illegal to grow it in your garden. What is preventing you from growing it for fun or profit? What is preventing me from growing it to help with my shoulder and back pain? Use the majority then...Show me how Pot is better than Marinol for the majority of people. Ask your Congressman. Hell, ask him why its illegal for fun...I don't know that either. But the fact is it IS illegal right now. You have two camps. One wants Pot legal for medical reasons...OK great I'm all for it. However, it is illegal to roll your own pain-aid, or take a hit of pain relief from a bong. The drug you mentioned is a perfect example...It is a THC based drug...It is also legal if perscribed. The second wants pot legal to be able blaze one for fun. Ok, great...I'm all for that also. I could give not a shit if you want to smoke yourself crazy. I'd rather you be stoned than drunk anyday. However, I don't want to hear crying later about cancer and for pot producers to be sued like cigarette companies are now. OK so we have two camps. One can be delt with by other drugs, or use non high producing THC based pain relievers. The other just wants to imitate Cheech and Chong. Either is fine with me...Just go about it legally, and dont be Cheech trying to get it legal for "Medical reasons" when the only medical reason you have is "stress relief". Anyone else find that funny? Like you said not all drugs will help all people, so legalizaton of an illegal drug to help a few that might be helped by other means is not the best answer. This is the weakness in the pro-medical pot side. There are plenty of drugs, and not one fixes all the problems in everyone....So why focus on Pot? Your economic reason was pretty good, but you lost it when you sided with recreational users. And the medical benefits can be gotten from other drugs to include THC based drugs that don't get people high. Trust me...In the scheme of things Pot is a pretty harmless drug in my eyes. You don't get violent unless it is on a bag of twinkies, studies have shown that you will not OD on it, and it seems to not be physically addictive. But as long as the Pro medical pot folks side with Cheech and Chong, they don't have a shot. Also the fact that synthetic THC can, and is being used. The medical reasons go up in smoke as well. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  19. Whats funny is you ignored the rest of the post. Like I said before, get all your evidence together and give it to Congress. If they think its good enough they will start the Impeachment process. If I get to see the evidence and it is compelling, then I will join you and ask for the Impeachment. So far you have done nothing but claim to know more than the UN, 296 members of the House, and 77 Members of the Senate. All the time not providing one shread of evidence. What are you using to get your info? Tarrot cards? Tea leaves? Its put up time. Show your proof, or stop bothering me with your pleas using only emotion. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  20. Wow, way to down play the sacrifices of the men and women who wear the uniform. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  21. You make it easy when you are so transparent. More pleading to emotion....Very lame, the kind of things 3rd graders use. Not really. A person can point out a problem, but do nothing to solve it. Kinda like you claiming to know more than the entire Congress, but not providing any evidence. The original ones, or the new ones they kept making when the old one blew by? The UN was not doing its job. If it was so clear he was not a threat then Both the House, Senate, and the UN would not have voted saying Saddam did have WMD's. The Senate 77-23, the House approved an identical resolution, 296-133. Senate Leader Daschle, D-South Dakota, said the threat of Iraq's weapons programs "may not be imminent. But it is real. It is growing. And it cannot be ignored." Wow so many fools? You confuse things don't ya? The UN has no authority. It fails time after time to do what it claims to do. I would LOVE it if the UN did what it claims it can do....Darfur is a perfect example. The UN, House, and Senate all voted and all thought Saddam had WMD's....I guess you know better than all of them? BTW just because you didn't think he did does not mean you knew better....If I claim a 50/50 coin toss it does not mean I know more than the loser. Well, it was enough to make most of Congress think it true....Oh and the UN. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  22. No. Ah, see part of my choices were made by the fact that Congress thought enough about the evidence to vote to use force. If Congress had said that there was not enough evidence, then I would have been skeptical. But it didn't the House passed H.J. Res. 114, to authorize the use of force against Iraq by a vote of 296 to 133. The Senate also held a vote, 77-23 in favor. They had access to information I didn't, and you didn't. So, if you have proof, please provide it...Like I said, if it is enough, I'll even support the Impeachment process. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  23. Well the attitude I have is this: Are there no other products that do the same thing? I have no problem with legal testing, but I would like some evidence that it is the *best*, or only solution. If the testing proves that it is the best or only option...Then I am all for cannabis derived medicines being used. But not just lighting up a joint as long as it is illegal. The biggest problem that the Pro-pot folks have is that they want it to be legal to light up. Right now it is illegal. If they pitched for medicines based from cannabis, not people smoking joints they would be much better off. Also, if you want to make it legal as a recreation drug...OK, but be honest why and not hide behind "Medical reasons". To be honest I think pot is better than alcohol as a recreational drug goes. People don't get stoned and beat their wife. I think some good can come from research...Hell they found medicines from the secreations of Frogs....I am sure cannabis has some good uses as well. But the two camps need to seperate. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  24. If the proof for Impeachment is enough to convince the Congress, it is good enough to convince the Congress. Congress was convinced enough about WMD's to vote to allow the use of force based on the proof given to them at that time. If you have enough proof to convince them to Impeach, then it is good enough. So the answer is yes. If you can convince Congress to Impeach, just as Congress voted to allow force, then it must be good enough. So far, I have not seen any moves to try and Impeach the President in Congress. So if you claim that the proof the Congress used to vote to allow force and send our troops into harms way was not good enough, then the evidence for the President's illegal activities must be *Really* shaky if they have not voted to Impeach him based on it. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  25. Actually, Im not a warhawk. I was a soldier. I would MUCH rather the UN had done its job. But it did not. This is nothing more than an over emotional reaction. Two Fallicies come to mind from your rant: 1. Appeal to Pity: the reader is persuaded to agree by sympathy. "its their job to die for their leaders mistakes and preconceptions" 2. Prejudicial Language: value or moral goodness is attached to believing the author. "maybe your tune will change when a few more of your friends and relatives". You still refuse to admit that Saddam never complied with the UN resolutions. Fine, but don't expect your over emotional bable to mean anything to me. Off the top of my head the UN resolutions seem to come to mind. Well at least you finaly admit you have no proof...Then why do you lie so much and so often? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
