And people who fear guns need to realize that just because they fear something does not make it bad. They need to get over their petty little fears and realize that they have no clue what they are talking about. It is just like the whuffo that thinks skydiving is stupid because skydivers can get killed. When a non gunner says, "Why do you want a gun?" It is JUST like the whuffo asking "Why do you skydive?" I tend to ignore the whuffo when they make stupdi statements.... Who's business is it that I participate in an activity I enjoy? Theirs? Who gives them the right to say that we should not shoot/jump? They have no clue what they are talking about. I ignore the whuffos because by definition, they are ignorant. Just like there is a correlation between criminals and gun crime. But your statement is still silly. Yes, if there were no guns there would be no gun crime, but there would still be violent crime. The best track is to not try to eliminate the tools, work on getting rid of the problem. Or it could be that criminals don't normally follow laws so no gun law will make any difference to them. You want to blame to tool and ignore the person that uses it. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

The CDC release a report in Oct 2003 that stated they could find no correlation between gun control laws and any reduction in gun violence. Simple fact is that some places have gun violence and some don't. It is not controlled by the amount of guns, or the number of citizens that have access to them. If gun control laws worked, you would see Chicago and DC as the safest places in the US, not places like Wyoming where they have rifle racks in bars. Population density and poverty have much more control over gun violence than guns. Work on reducing poverty and you will make more headway into reducing violence than any ban on an item. It should fall flat, but given the stated goals of the admin.... I do not have faith that it will. Expect to see it hidden in a bill like the Hughes Amendment was "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

It was already around: http://www.gunlawnews.org/110th-House-Bills/hr2666.html FIREARM LICENSING and RECORD OF SALE ACT OF 2007/ HOUSE BILL HR2666 "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

They work better. They are not as picky when they are a little dirty as a gas tube. Many military units ARE using them (HK 416). I know guys that took their own piston uppers overseas. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

As opposed to Rangel and his bring back the draft BS? You folks are just pissed your party got busted and are much to childish to admit it. Where is his warning for these? He says we are fucked up and insane.... I call him a ranting whuffo?!?!?!?! What do you call a person who is ranting and wonders whuffo you do something? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

You sound just like the whuffo who thinks skydiving is stupid. And since you have never owned a firearm, your opinion of firearms is just like how we look at them. You are ignorant of the topic, your opinion is noted, and then dismissed just as we all ignore the ranting whuffo. You don't like guns.... Got it. Good thing is none of us want you to HAVE to have one. What makes you think you are the only one who's opinion should matter? What danger is the legal ownership of a firearm? You are nothing more than a ranting whuffo here. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Both of your options are incorrect. I wonder if the gun in question was bought legally? I wonder if any of the current 2000+ laws were followed? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

The intent was to not allow them into the State unless the company spent a bunch of money. It is the same as the prohibitive tax put in place by FDR in 1934 when he created the NFA act. The idea is to make it so expensive that people do not bother (either buyer or seller). So while it is not a "ban" per text book definition, it is a ban in practice. I shot 700 rounds this weekend. I also just got an order of 6k bullets in and spent a good bit of time this weekend picking up and sorting brass. I have enough to keep me supplied for a while (Not if I keep shooting 700 rounds a weekend). But Obama has proven to be the best gun salesmen ever. Someone told me that Wally World screwed up and didn't order enough. They say that they will be back to normal levels soon. I have attached a lil something I got on Saturday. I think that would be a bad thing. Killing a criminal in self-defense is fine, IMO. Taking the law into your own hands is not. 1. I bet, like most in that situation, you would not be so calm and collected no matter what level of training you had unless you have killed several times before. 2. That course of action would not be wise legally since you would not be defending anything, you would be executing. I very much doubt that as well unless you have killed several times before. Food for thought, lets ban bows http://www.khou.com/topstories/stories/khou090119_mh_workplace_shooting.da65fb3.html Not the whole story...But close enough. So, who's for banning arrows? Luckily, the two had pistols. BTW, the police took 25 min to get there AFTER shots were fired. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

You mean like when the DOJ said before the 94 AWB that those types of weapons were only used in less than 4% of crimes...But they were banned anyway? Or like how legal full auto machineguns that have only been used TWICE in a crime since 1934 but Congress passed the Hughes Amendment in 1986 to prevent law abiding citizens from being able to buy new ones? Or maybe how the CDC came out and said that they could find no connection between gun bans and any reduction in crimes rates....Yet some still want to ban all types of weapons? Or maybe how the SC ruled that DC's ban was not Constitutional, yet they played tricks to try to keep it? Or how Chicago has a gun ban, yet gun crime increases? You mean those kinds of facts? The simple fact is that there are those that want to take away all guns and no matter what facts you provide....They will cling tight to their opinion no matter what. Only if you want to count buildings, not governments. US Govt: Founded 1776 Current Russian Govt: Founded 1991 but it is considered to be an continuation of of the USSR which was founded in 1922. Current French Govt: was approved by referendum on 28 September 1958. If you do not accept that date, the French Revolution was in 1789 when they changed from a Monarch to a Democracy....Of course, they went right back to Monarchy in 1804. England: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was established in 1927. Even if you wanted to go back the the acts of union it is only 75 years older than the US. Germany: After WWII it formed a Republic in 1949. China: People's Republic of China was also founded in 1949. Don't confuse old buildings with old political systems. No, I hate it when someone has to resort to petty name calling since they have no other defense. You could have attempted to discuss the topic without the lame attacks. You have been proven wrong. So, your confidence was misplaced. Not me...I think the 2nd Amendment and the Constitution are the only two things we agree on. Some would have made that claim I am sure....Just as some think it was great when FDR did it. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Ah, so you are fine when one party does something and against it when the other does it....Got it. Your type cheer when Obama spends 100m, but bitched about Bush spending 50m. And the only reason is the political party. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
