  1. You assume that.... Believe it or not, local politicians in Congress DO influence the National policies since they vote on them... Such as National HC. Knowing where they stand on National issues is just more information that you can use to decide on them. You hire politicians to represent you. The fact you don't grasp the simple concept that a politician that supports skydiving might be able to represent you, at least as it relates to aviation, more than one that is afraid to fly is just amazing. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  2. I don't read him looking for skydiver support as having a higher agenda personally. I think that he knows that most skydivers normally support one another (missed the mark on politics, IMO) and that he thinks that we all might think a skydiver actually IN Congress would be a good idea.... I can't say I totally disagree with that thought. I mean we have the USPA lobbying, but to have a Congressmen actually IN Congress.... A Senator would be better, but I don't see how (in relation to skydiving alone) either would hurt. 3. Because IMO she pulls the same types of things. Maybe without the yelling, but the same type of BS. I think she goes for a different type... But I also find that type annoying. Maybe, but maybe not. At any rate I find it difficult to listen to. Her in my case. I don't blame anyone for the guests they have on the show... Maybe the TYPE if it is all the same all the time. The fact she is a lesbian is not something I personally ever considered. In fact, I didn't know it for quite some time. It is kinda a shame, she CAN do a good interview if she would just drop the attitude. A transcript of one of her interviews was quite good.... When I tried to watch her, I was instantly turned off. Just like Rush, Beck, Olbermann.... It is the delivery more than the message that I dislike. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  4. OK, I have an uncle that spent well over 6 mths at the site. He is an engineer by trade, and was there as an engineer. I asked him flat out and he told me that it was the planes that brought the towers down. Now he *could* be one of the hundreds that were paid off to keep their mouths shut.... But I doubt it. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  5. NO ONE makes you hit reply. But since you brought it up, YOU have the very annoying habit of saying something and then not being willing to back it up. You blame these folks for being somewhere they should not have been.... Yet, you are not willing to defend that position in the same ilk in another situation. I find that to be hypocritical and obnoxious... And I have already called YOU out on it this week as well. Yep, right up till your logic is called out and you can't reply logically... then you will start this personal BS... It is a trend I have noticed in you. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  6. Due to many laws they were not allowed to be armed. But what if the Opera is down that road and you are in DC? Do you blame every victim of a crime for being in the wrong place? Do you blame rape victims for wearing the wrong thing? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  7. You are not a deadbeat if you pay taxes..... "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  8. Glad I am not the only one that see's that. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  9. That's just funny right there. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  10. Not just TK's, but I'll try to answer the questions as best I can, just cause he and I have talked about it and I generally like him: No. But I have talked to him in person at the Nats. Tim is a really good guy. Yeah, you guys would not agree on things. I am gonna guess: USPA Paraclete tunnel RNC I do not allow the USPA to sell my name, so maybe that's why I didn't get a letter? He is trying to get a war chest.... Anyone can donate and he is hoping that skydivers want to support another skydiver. A big one... He owns the Paraclete windtunnel and sold his other business to pay cash for the tunnel and had plenty left over. He is very good with business and money. USPA and maybe the tunnel waiver most likely. You can ask him... He will call or write back. He is a Conservative Christian. I don't know all his positions... I do know that every time I have dealt with him he has been honest and straight forward. That does not mean I would vote for him (I live in FL anyway) but that does mean I trust him as a person. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  11. I see the question mark... I know what it denotes. WE all knew the Onion is a satire site and only YOU were foolish enough to buy into it. Don't blame US for YOU being taken in by a joke. Wow... 100% pure partisan. I find it amazing that is the only way you can think. Your posting history seems to indicate that you DON'T like to hear opposing views. And, I don't know what hos is btw. That does not mean I listen to him. It only means that YOU think my views align with his. I am willing to bet you don't know my views on most things and only focus on the ones you dislike. The from what you told me then, you MUST listen to the left's speakers if you have the same general leanings. For one, I don't think anyone fits just one particular mold... You seem to need to label people to feel better... No matter if that label does not fit, you try to force it to fit for YOUR benefit. How am I different than the "garden variety" RW? Glad you asked.... I wonder if you will honestly listen to the reply?.... I doubt it. 1. I don't care if gays marry. I DO think calling it a civil union would make things MUCH easier. Hell, *I* didn't want to get married; I just wanted the legal rights my wife and I now have. 2. I think some form of welfare is needed.... But I think that more focus should be on programs to get people off of the Govt tit than just hand out checks. I'd be fine with mandatory drug screening and counseling if you are on welfare. I'd rather see money spent on education to PREVENT people needing welfare. 3. I think we have spent enough time in Iraq and need to get out. You can't force others to be democratic, I can't think of a single war against insurgencies that was actually won. And the cost of the war is too high both in men and dollars. 4. I think that taxes pretty much have to be raised to control the debt... BUT I think we should cut spending first... Fix the hole in the boat before we just try to get a bigger bucket. 5. I don't care if they legalize Marijuana. And if it can be shown to provide medicinal benefits, I think we would be stupid not to look more into that. I think the States have the right to legalize it without the DEA getting involved. There are more.... As I have said time after time I am libertarian according to most tests and conversations I have had with people. But you always try to dismiss that as a Reb in disguise. To put it into "Left and Right" so you can understand; I am financially Conservative, and Socially Liberal. I see you espouse typical things from the left, how are you different from garden variety LW? Are you even going to answer this question?... I'd bet not. Nonsense... I think this is just you needing to label again. I think the leftist nutjob and the righty nutjob are both nutjobs. You only see the righty. No you are damned because you constantly jump on people for sources you don't like and you stupidly (not intended as an insult, just a fact) used a satire site as a reference. You are damned because YOU REFUSE TO DROP IT. Nope, thats pretty stupid as well... Now show me where I have replied to him in this thread? Fact is by the time I even noticed his post you had already pointed it out and he had already fixed it. YOU on the other hand were claiming the Onion was a RW wing rag till today. And the irony score on these two comments from you are OFF the chart And this just shows your inability to have a discussion: BTW YOU of ALL people should not be bashing a guy for typo's "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  12. If you honestly think that is true, you have not seen Olberman or Maddow for example. The difference between you and I is that I realize both sides have talking heads the employ the exact same methods. You ignore the examples that do not fit your ideas..... That, and I knew the Onion is a satire site. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  13. And I can't stand the hypocrisy. Sounds like we both have a weakness "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  14. This has never before stopped you from giving an opinion on matters that will never concern you. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  15. Like the SC? Like a direct quote from a Founding Father? And the majority opinion in Heller v DC is a "biased" source? Sorry, direct quotes are not "biased" no matter what site you pull them off of. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  16. Now the question is do you think that the other side does the same? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  17. You have a really bad foot in mouth problem. A: You quoted the SC and CAPITALIZED a specific part pertaining to this topic. B: You said you agree with the SC. A+B= C It does not take a genius. Also, your posting history supports this position. "What you do speaks so loud I cannot hear what you say." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  18. It was discussed here on the Diane Rehm Show today, and on another show I think on Tue. Basically said that if he had tried to get a civilian position, his record would have prevented him from finding a job. He had quite the history of mental issues and they were documented. Some of the reasons they said nothing was done: 1. Military was low on mental health workers. 2. People were being overly cautious not to look like they were after him for being Muslim. 3. Typical BS of pushing the problem to someone else. They had interviews of co workers and they talked about how they had to be aware of their limits and not looking like they were not being harder on him due to being Muslim. The report also said that all Mental Health workers are offered therapy, but he did not take any. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  19. Really?!?!??!?! First you said (Capitals done by YOU): Then you said: Right there you said you support the ban. It is not rocket science. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  20. Nope, and I would never take that as a dig or slam. I agree and also put Olberman, Rachel Maddow, Rush...ect into that group. To be clear, I pretty much despise the lot of them no matter what party or agenda they push; I can't stand the yammering of any of them. My Dad listens to Rush... Used to drive me crazy. The guy two offices down listens to Rush and I just can't stand to hear the guys voice. My Dad and I used to argue about how annoying Rush was... I never could understand why people listen to him. But the same goes for any of them. One reason I get most of my news from the internet. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  21. While I think that is a very neat way to handle this situation.... Can you explain why you think it is a better method than just having a combination lock on the safe? Or did you just adapt what you had? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  22. He made a statement that he supported the SC, and I didn't. I think it is a fair question. You are free to ignore it "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  23. If this is classified as a terrorist attack... I think they should be eligible for the PH. If it is classified as a crime... Then no. Honestly, from what I have heard so far... I consider it a terrorist attack by a lone wolf. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  24. Glenn Beck.... Don't like him. But then again I don't like any of the shows with the talking heads to include Olberman, Rachel Maddow, Rush...ect. Heck I don't like Oprah's show, nor the Tonight Show for that matter. I don't need anyone from ANY party yelling at me. It also sent a message that there is a group of people that do not agree with what is going on. While it might not be tied to a single issue, that may make it MORE meaningful. And no, I didn't send a tea bag to anyone.... I also don't like tea. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  25. Oh look...Just like normal, you can't have a rational adult discussion about the topic, so you start the childish BS! "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
