Yes, that's not that big of a difference. And using an Optimum would make it even easier. But, you could get any of these containers to match those sizes: Infinity Racer Mirage Vector Javelin Icon Dolphin Wings Talon Voodoo Quasar Mike ChutingStar.com

I filled out the scam alert form...so that should get taken care of. Mike ChutingStar.com

To which I responded with my size and weight. I got this back: Does anyone know this guy? It strikes me as a little suspicious. Western Union, never a secure method. The drop in price for swift payment. Also - who would readily lug a heavy rig to Europe to ship it from there? All in all, a little sketchy. Can anyone vouch for this dude? This most definitely is a scam. The person posting this took the info off my used gear section from a listing last year. This rig actually sold a to a jumper in Australia who still owns it. This rig is not in California... Mike ChutingStar.com

I've always found using the next size up punch when going through a stiffener works better when setting a new grommet. So yes, I'm using the #1 punch on the mod as well. Mike ChutingStar.com

FWIW...I've had this up for awhile to describe "freefly-friendly" because we get that question frequently. http://collegeskydiving.com/tips-from-the-pros/rigging/3-is-your-rig-freefly-friendly Mike ChutingStar.com

Something new from Aerodyne - Sensei(!)
chutingstar replied to alge's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Sandy of Aerodyne did say at the symposium that the new fabric will be available as an "extra option" on it's other canopies. She wasn't sure what the extra price would be, but that they would announce it soon. Mike ChutingStar.com -

Here's the list from the FCI order form: AVAILABLE COLORS; BLACK, WHITE, NAVY BLUE, ROYAL BLUE, LT BLUE, SILVER, RED, KELLY GREEN, YELLOW, PLUM, ORANGE, GOLD, JADE, BLACK BERRY, NEON BLUE, NEON YELLOW, NEON ORANGE, NEON GREEN, NEON RED ChutingStar.com

The same colors available with PD, Icarus, Precision and Aerodyne canopies. Sometimes Flight Concepts does run low on some colors, which can increase turnaround time, so your best bet is to ask your dealer to check or call Red at Flight Concepts directly at 770-279-7733 to find out if there is any shortage of the colors you want to have in your custom FCI canopy. Need Opinions on AAD, Time for my replacement
chutingstar replied to eddietude's topic in Gear and Rigging
I stand by my statement. JerryBaumchen Hey Jerry, I believe the life expectancy is just Vigil's wording for lifetime...they also have this, as I posted in that same selection from the manual: a functional lifetime of 20 years. Anyway, I'll ask Candace at the PIA if the company has a more clear stance on what happens at 20 years from DOM. See ya, Mike ChutingStar.com -
Need Opinions on AAD, Time for my replacement
chutingstar replied to eddietude's topic in Gear and Rigging
Not true. They say something about some future maintenance/whatever when they get to the 20-yr point. But they are a long way from that 20-yr point. Both the Vigil 1 & 2 are NOT DEAD at 20 yrs. JerryBaumchen Excerpts rom the Vigil II manual: The Vigil® is designed for a life expectancy of 20 years from the date of manufacture. The above expectancy is based on the fact that the cutter, the Pulses Plus element and the electronic components have been designed for a functional lifetime of 20 years. and the high peak current necessary for the cutter to activate and cut the loop instantaneously in less than 2 milliseconds. This element has an operational lifetime of 20 years and must in principle never be replaced (see page 29). and 5.5. Cutter Unit - NATO Stock Number (NSN) 1377-13-118-8843 Patented and designed especially for the Vigil® with a life expectancy of 20 years. and Life time: 20 years life expectancy Mike ChutingStar.com -

Actually, Mirage may have changed it's percentage off since they just changed the base percentage off for all dealers...so it may be 30%. I'll have to ask on that Monday. Mike ChutingStar.com

Just an update/FYI on the conversion kits. I spoke with UPT on last Tuesday and had several of the kits delivered my loft on Thursday for just the price of shipping. They are turning these around very fast. Very good news for those who want the mod done immediately. Mike ChutingStar.com

Yes, and I have had UPT make different color golf balls into handles for the Sigma/Micro Sigma rigs. The last instructor who had me get some made wanted black golf ball handles...UPT wanted three from the same package...one was tested to destruction. Apparently it passed the test and they made two handles from the other two black golf balls. Mike ChutingStar.com

It is the Rawa Image (fabric forehead). Rawa also makes the Vision, which has the helmet extended down over the forehead area. Mike ChutingStar.com

Yes. That's how it worked out for us.

One of the rigs we got in was a Vector3 M-Series for a sport jumper without a Skyhook/RSL. This rig has the staging loop setup too. Mike ChutingStar.com
