  1. MO or MOS (depending on your height)...because I have found the 143 Optimum to pack up fairly close to a 113 PD Reserve (recommended for MO/MOS) and the 150 will fit in there fine. Mike ChutingStar.com
  2. Yes, Wings does offer 50% discount off the base price of their containers to active military. You can place the order through any Wings dealer. Mike ChutingStar.com
  3. Her love is all taped up, begging to be released. Mike ChutingStar.com
  4. Thanks to some information from a couple of riggers at Skydive Snohomish (one of which died in the recent Caravan crash), I have an update to that article with more options and what looks to be a better U.S.-based option to the seal press I use. I'll try and post it on my web site later tonight. Also, I do have an old Para-Gear seal press that I would sell the original poster...not sure on price. I'll have to see what I paid for it and what it would cost you to get new dies for it. Send me an e-mail if you're interested. Mike ChutingStar.com
  5. Here is a link to the photos that have already been sent to UPT: http://www.chutingstar.com/archives/00000131.html Mike ChutingStar.com
  6. The kegs won't be ready until Friday morning...and I wouldn't expect your rig to be ready until sometime Friday. I'll know more about your Cypres by Wednesday. Mike ChutingStar.com
  7. BEER UPDATE.... Nick Carter can pickup the 3 kegs, garbage cans, ice, taps, etc. from Flowery Branch on Friday, but will need to pass them off to someone at Dobbins in Marietta on his way to work. He would arrive at Dobbins between 2 and 2:30 p.m. So can anyone meet him at Dobbins at that time to bring the beer the remainder of the way??? Let me know and I'll get you in touch with Nick. Thanks! Mike ChutingStar.com
  8. The photo was taken on the tarmac at 4A4 in Cedartown, Ga. Mike ChutingStar.com
  9. Yeah, learning alot from my kids...my truck, my car, my book...MY GUINNESS...well it won't last long...3 beers and I'm gone. Mike ChutingStar.com
  10. My understanding is that it is all being provided with our kegs. So we should be cool...and drunk in no time. Mike ChutingStar.com
  11. My Singer 211, which is a single-needle walking foot, works great for container repairs, bootie repairs, riser repairs and the like. I wouldn't be able to do some of the more "heavy-duty" repairs without it. This was the third machine I bought, right behind a lighter-duty straight/zig-zag machine that I use for canopy patching and a bartacker for linesets. I also have a Brother double-needle walking foot with a binder that is a workhorse. The drawbacks to walking foots (at least how mine are currently setup) is the foot is usually a little bigger and it's not as easy to get into some of the tighter places. Mike ChutingStar.com
  12. Bring 'em out soon! I'd like to actually jump at this boogie. Mike ChutingStar.com
  13. See http://consumer.georgia.gov/00/article/0,2086,5426814_38709348_86939063,00.html and http://consumer.georgia.gov/vgn/images/portal/cit_1210/3/12/869420861800SkyRide.pdf Mike ChutingStar.com
  14. I've contacted Kudzu a few times about the multiple listings for the same dropzone to addresses that aren't correct for where the business is actually located. It pushes the other real dropzones (Skydive Atlanta and Skydive The Farm) to the second page when there are really only 3 dropzones in the Atlanta area. Kudzu has told me they've looked into it, but it's only gotten worse since then. I'm sure they're getting some type of information from each of the listings that makes them feel they are legitimate. A few more people contacting Kudzu about the issue would help as well. Thanks, Mike ChutingStar.com
  15. Thanks! Let me check with Laura about Thursday...although each keg we've ordered includes the trash cans, bags of ice, the taps and plastic cups. So not sure how much ice we're talking and if you have a place to store it overnight? We still have a week to find someone who actually skydives out here and lives in Flowery Branch...so you don't have to make the extra drive. I'll let you know if anyone materializes! Mike ChutingStar.com
  16. Yeah...thanks to Blaine reminding me about my prior promise for the Guinness Keg...and to Laura for making it happen this late.
  17. So the question remains, is the Farm now the proud owner of a Super Twin Otter? Don't come home from Texas unless you're flying it back... Mike ChutingStar.com
  18. So then I just need to buy the special tap off the Internet? I was doing a little searching last night...saw some sort of contraptions just for Guinness beer kegs... Mike ChutingStar.com
  19. Deal...Guinness keg from me it will be...now just have to find where I can get one. Mike ChutingStar.com
  20. It takes years to get the $10 skyride upcharges out of your system...give me time...and money. ChutingStar.com
  21. Wow, springin' for Guinness! Thanks Skinny Shrek! You Rock Homey... Mike to the G...the lost Beastie Boy. ChutingStar.com

  23. And he wasn't even there. He was in Oklahoma City spending three days to learn how to fill out a 2-page form. Next time...I guess it's my turn to drive to you Brad...thanks for the kind words. Mike ChutingStar.com
  24. One other area to read through and look is the latest PIA canopy volume study. There is a wide range of sizes and type of reserves listed with the volume noted in one column. This may help with some of the other manufacturers you are considering as for appropriate sizing (given the advice from Mirage and other riggers here). Here's the link: http://pia.com/piapubs/TSDocuments/TS104-A-CANOPY-VOLUME.pdf Mike ChutingStar.com
  25. Check the Mirage manual, or even easier, is looking inside the packing tray of the Mirage container. There is a large rectangle lable that is filled with information, including the main closing loop length. Here's the manual: http://www.miragesys.com/Downloads/G4ContainerManual.pdf And yeah, as for the wrinkles it doesn't sound like we're helping you. Photos will help, as well as someone local looking at it for you. Take care, Mike ChutingStar.com
