  1. Yo Gary, Without any Optimum 193s out there in the real world (just a few at some manufacturers for testing), I can only go off the smaller Optimums, which in the 126 and 143 sizes tend to pack one size smaller, but not so much in the 113 and below sizes. The I5 is made for a 150-175 Smart...so I would think the OP193 would fit, although on the tight side. The safer bet would be the OP176. Until someone gets a 193 into an I5 we won't know for sure...but it definitely sounds possible. Mike ChutingStar.com
  2. I'd say not worth the extra money... The G4 leg pads extremely comfortable even in the standard configuration due to the spacerfoam anyway. Mike ChutingStar.com
  3. This may help you: http://collegeskydiving.com/tips-from-the-pros/rigging/3-is-your-rig-freefly-friendly Mike ChutingStar.com
  4. I don't know of any rig that is as simple to close at the manual states. All take a number of extra steps that you have to figure out on your own or from other riggers or from updated tips articles and such. And a lot depends on reserve sizes vs. containers sizes vs. AADs vs. humidity levels...etc., etc., etc. But all your extra tips and the rest in this thread are right on...as well as time, patience and experience. 5. Hey Mike, any world on delivery date for you from Cookie, besides first of May? It's getting to me that I can't jump my camera yet Last I was told was the first week of May, but let me see if I can get a more exact date from Jason. Mike ChutingStar.com
  6. This site keeps a list of riggers who register with the site: http://rigminder.net/locaterigger.asp Mike ChutingStar.com
  7. How do you have is secured in the box? Or is it just the pressure of the closed box in addition the bottom support you added? Mike ChutingStar.com
  8. Just for another combination... My personal Vector is a V304 with Skyhook and Cypres2. I have a PR-99 and Velo90. It's tight and I wouldn't want to have to deal with anything bigger in there on a regular basis. Mike ChutingStar.com
  9. Just heard from them today that they now have the camera and are working on it. They estimate boxes to be ready for manufacturing in about 4 weeks...so probably about 6 weeks until I'll have some in. I have 5 of RAWA's side-mount and 5 of RAWA's top-mount CX100/105 boxes on order. Mike ChutingStar.com
  10. Looks to be a fit problem, either how it's being worn (leg straps maybe could be tighter to pull hip junction down/forward?) or a harness sizing issue for this particular rig on this particular person. Can't tell for sure just from this one photo... As to earlier comments about G4 containers and this being a common problem, I have yet to see it particular to the G4 containers...fit issues seem to hit all manufacturers occasionally, but is fixable. And even if you're measured by an established dealer/rigger who does this every day, mistakes and/or fit issues can still happen either during the measurements, or during the interpretation of those measurements at the factory or during the manufacturing process. It's not an exact science. It seems about once a year we have a brand-new harness from a manufacturer that for some reason just doesn't fit the skydiver right, even though thet "did everything right" as far as who measured them, following a measuring guide, checked by the factory, etc. Usually it doesn't take much...an inch on a MLW can change the fit dramatically. 11. Cookie just informed me that the M-XXL Gas and L-XXL Ozone helmets shipped to me today. I'll have them next week. Mike ChutingStar.com
  12. Hey Josh (and others), Yes, Argus is still in business. They haven't been advertising as much. We still keep new units in stock as well as replacement parts, as does other gear shops such as Para-Concepts. Mike ChutingStar.com
  13. It's still in it's initial production run except for a few demos out there. We'll have some here in a few weeks. Mike ChutingStar.com
  14. Yeah, I saw Ned too, but didn't know he wasn't able to provide linesets any more. Here is the updated info for linesets from PISA as they just gave me the new contact there and said linesets can still be ordered direct. Verena Chetty Parachute Industries of S.A. 15. Yes, the cutaway chincup from RAWA is compatible with all Image and Vision helmets. It includes a chincup with a cutaway strap on one side and new ladder straps. It isn't possible to upgrade an old RAWA chincup with RAWA's cutaway system. But you can use your existing RAWA chincup and install the cutaway mod kits from Bonehead or Skysystems. 16. This changed about 5 years ago...if I remember right. So sounds like something is out of whack if your buddy was charged 160+160+battery+shipping instead of 160+battery+shipping. Mike ChutingStar.com
  17. Rawa makes a cutaway chincup for its helmets. See here: http://www.chutingstargear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=17_18&products_id=156 We have had jumpers install, Cookie's, Bonehead's and SkySystems' cutaway systems as well on Rawa's, but those take a little more work to install. 18. They have a clear policy on this. They will happily accept it and do both checks at the same time. Of course you will have to pay for both of them. I am not sure the value of the thing is worth doing them both. That used to be the policy, but not anymore. You just need to send it to SSK or Airtec for the 8-year service/battery and you will only be charged for the one service and battery. The Cypres will still have the 12.25-year lifetime from DOM. Mike ChutingStar.com
  19. Kaue says the issue is that they don't have a CX100/105 in the shop yet. As soon as they get one, they will start making the box. I'm trying to get one sent down for them.
  20. Yes, M3's take 135-170 mains just fine. 170s slightly tight, 135s slighty soft. This is the size I recommend for those who want that type of canopy range. Mike ChutingStar.com
  21. We have a request into RAWA for the side-mount and top-mount box for the CX100/105. We are getting several requests for this. We haven't heard a definite on this or a timeline, but it seemed to take them a couple of months when the HC5/7/9 came out as well as the CX6/7/11/12...so I would expect about the same here. I know Cookie is sending their CX100/105 boxes out in about 4 weeks or so for our MXV helmets. But the Cookie boxes don't work so well as a side-mount for the RAWA helmets, because there is a slight curve to the camera box mounting area for the RAWA. I'll let you know as soon as I get a definite from RAWA on the side-mount CX100/105 boxes. Mike ChutingStar.com
  22. Flyer says: Sonic BASE Course covering BASE pack jobs, BASE gear, Canopy Survival Skills and Sight Evaluation. (He may mean Site Evaluation.) Mike ChutingStar.com
  23. In response to the original topic, yes, my DZ will let us use the Baser system. We have a course with Sonic and his demo Baser rigs at Skydive The Farm set for June 5-7th. There are 8 slots for the course and 3 are still available. I'll be jumping the system during the course to check it out.

  25. I talked to Javelin and they do not have a container they produce that can still take a pd176r but take a 150 or below It's a tighter fit in the reserve container, but you can fit a PR176 in a J3K and J2K, which both can take a 150 main. Mike ChutingStar.com
