  1. for mine to work on my laptop, I have to have the cable connected before i boot it up.
  2. mabey look into a regular baggyer jumpsuit with swoopcords. A camera suit is really only needed for jumping camera, hince the name.
  3. whats included? box or bracket? cameye? how about a sight?
  4. I had the same problem on my vector with around 600 jumps. There was nothing wrong with the tabs them selves, the reserve was pushing them out. I mentioned this to my rigger and when i got a repack, and the problem was solved. Have a rigger look at. It might be that simple. The tabs shouldn't wear out that fast.
  5. movie maker does it and its included with windows xp SP2
  6. I was dubbing my tandem videos on my laptop for a little while, but its take a lot longer to do. Average from start to finish, was a bout 20-25 minutes. Granted you dont have to actually site there the entire time, its a lot of running back and forth. Figure 5-6 minutes to capture, then another 5 - 7 minutes of editing. Then at least another 15 minutes for it to render and burn. i would just rather sit down and spend 6-7 minutes dubbing on a mixer than running back and forth every 5 minutes to click something. I just switched back to a linear system and just keep my laptop for stills.
  7. check on ebay. thats where I have gotten all of my camera gear. And they make step up rings for cameras with smaller threads. For a first lens, the kenko .5 and sony .6 are good. The kenko .42/.43 all also good. Just depends on how wide you want to go and what your are going to be filming. also, I have gotten all of my kinko lenses for under $35. so shop around a little
  8. windows movie maker. Its included with windows xp. Make sure you get SP2.
  9. I use a trv19 that I got on ebay for under $150. works great.
  10. how many mm's is the lens thread size. Thats going to be the first step. Should be in the manual or on their web site
  11. I use movie maker for my tandem videos and it works great
  12. I would only get a repack probably once a year, but I have no problems paying a little bit to get my shit inspected by a second set of eyes every few months or so. I think the rule should be mandatory inspections and a repack should be up to the riggers discression.
  13. I have been using a trv19 that I got off of ebay for $140. Has been working fine and has the fades that your looking for.
  14. right now, using my laptop it takes about 15-20 minutes total. But I am only at the computer for about 3 minuts total. Start to capture, then Set my brakes and walk my canopy up. By then its done capturing and I change the titles and add the music. Then let it save as an avi. While its doing that I am putting my canopy in the bag and stowing my lines. By then the movie is saved and I just drag it to dvd santa and let it burn while I close my container and do my next ground interview. The system works great, but if I can do it faster, great!
  15. what would be the best way for me to "get the job done" using movie maker? Right now i am improting and saving my final product in DV. Then i use dvdsanta to burn my avi to dvd. http://www.dvdsanta.com/ Would it be faster to save/import my video to mpeg or something else?
  16. so when i get done editing my video on my comp, i can send the avi file to a stand alone dvd burner via firewire and burn it with out having to "render" What programs do this.. will movie maker do this, cause thats what im using.. ?????
  17. are you talking about an external computer dvd burner or one that goes to a TV. I quit using pinnacle because it was way to slow. I just started using windows movie maker instead. MUCH faster. I guess it depends on what type of video your doing. Fun jumps, tandem, 4 way, etc. And mostly what kind of editing you need to do. Using movie maker, i have a dvd ready within 20 minutes after i land. Its takes a little time to render and burn, but thats when i pack, so I am ready to go back up in 20 minutes
  18. I jump a side mount video and another helmet with top mount vid and stills. I never do anything special during deployment. Just I just keep my head centered and look up and watch my canopy open.
  19. good luck, post your pics here when ya get done.
  20. a 640x480 pictures is still going to be a pretty crappy picture. Not much better than a fram grab IMO. I certainly wouldn't consider them sellable. Just for comparason, my digital rebel's resolution is 3072x2048. I would take a couple of practice stills on the ground and get them developed just to make sure you are going the get the desired results.
  21. find a buddy with a camera then firewire the footage to the other camera. Then send it off.
