I am wanting to recreate an effect in movie studio plat. 9. On my HC5, and many previous model cams, during playback if I go to the effects section, the is a flash effect. How do I do that in movie studio plat?

does anyone know where to buy just some of the 3m tape?
-
what size is the one you have?

are the stills any better in the HD version? When you have it on automatic mode every 2 seconds.

I have been thinking of doing the exact same thing... Are those pics the full 5mp resolution? (ie: didn't have to resize them for posting?)

cameye with button removed just indicator
Dokeman replied to Dokeman's topic in Photography and Video
broke as in very used and has a short in it somewhere. If you just hit the side of it, (the part with the button) the light will flicker on and off, and sometimes just stay off. The casing broke a long time ago and I just hot glued it closed. It worked for a while, but it is just worn out. I wanted to make it like a hypeye mini. just a plug and a light with no "eletronics" -
cameye with button removed just indicator

I have a cameyeII that the button broke. Is there anyway i can just cut the button off and splice the wires together and use it just as an indicator light? -
try to find one of these http://www.imaging-resource.com/ACCS/RDS/RDS.HTM I picked one of these up on ebay new in the box for about $30 about a year ago

I really like my cookie glove for my hc5
-
I taught my girl how to pack on my stiletto 135 at about 1.7 wingloading. A good pack job is a good pack job no matter what canopy it is.
-
probably the best option for a top mount cam that works with a cameye is going to be a HC5 set in SD mode. That is of course if you were talking about standard definition and not SD media cards. Be a little more specific.

I bought a new container and reserve when I had about 50 jumps. Then I put about 1000 jumps on it before selling it because I couldn't downsize anymore. i would suggest buying a used main, just because you will probably want something different in 100 jumps or so. Also learning to pack on new main is a huge pain in the ass. If you do get new stuff, I would recommend getting a container that will hold the size canopy you want to jump and nothing bigger. That way you can downsize twice with the same rig. At least thats what I did and it worked out great for me.

I dont think the hc9 is al that great for jumping. I would get an HC5 instead. And half the cost as well. I personally would not get the bundle. Mostly cheap junk. I would spend my money on a quality wide angle lens instead of the cheapo that's included with the kit.

What's the next best PC series down from the PC1000?
Dokeman replied to schulm04's topic in Photography and Video
I think compared to the new HD cams that are available, they are pretty much all the same. I don't remember there ever being a huge difference in video quality between them, especially compared to newer cams. I think you would be alright with which ever you can find for general skydiving purposes. (ie: fun jumps, tandems, aff. etc) And it seems weird to me that you can get an HC5 for less than a PC1000 on ebay. If you r just looking for a list of PC cameras to search for try: PC9 PC101 PC5 PC7 PC105 PC100 PC1 PC120 PC105 PC330 Im sure there's other I forgot -
I usually shoot in SD mode just because the slowmo is a little funky when in HD mode so its works better with my mixer board. But even when shooting in SD the picture quality is still better than the other regular DV cameras. But at the end of the day they still leave with a SD DVD. Whether the camera recorded in HD or SD.

I also jump a HC5 but with a cookie composites glove and like it alot

if you plug you camera directly into a TV does everything work fine? If so its probably not you camera. I was having a problem a while back that took me a while to figure out. I had an aftermarket composite cable I was using but the but the output of the camera didnt match the cables. So normally the yellow is the video and the red and white are you left and right audio signals. With this cable everything works but the colors didn't match up. Video came out of the red cable and the sound came from the yellow and white. Kinda weird, but might be something to check.

well.. a cookie .25, a royal .2, and the waycool blackeye .25 are all pretty much the same lens. Neither is going to be any wider or narrower than the other. They all offer 180 degree field of view. When they advertise lens, the .3, .45, .5 or whatever are just general measurements. Im sure royal just named theirs a .2 just to sound wider than the other offerings. What does make a difference is the camera you are attaching it to. Some camera's are wider than others without a wide angle lens. So when you attach a wide angle lens it just magnifies the wide angle of the camera more. Thats why some peoples video look wider than others with the same lens.
