  1. It depends on the passenger... i always give the talk about dont stair at the ground, look at me, if you have your arms out, i might come grab ya, let me grab you, you dont grab me kinda thing.. Depends on what they are doing. i always take stills so not so much talking. But if they are geeking the camera and having fun on their own, then I sit back and let let do their thang.. If they just sit there I will give them some had signs, ie thunbs, give em the finger, grab their hands and take em for a ride or whatever im feeling at the moment. Just depends on the passenger and the TI.
  2. I got mine on ebay for $600 with no problems
  3. thats what I was gonna say. It is a little heavier than the kit lens, but I cant even notice it once its on my head.
  4. 14mm isnt to wide for tandems, I have been using the canonn 10-22mm for the past few weeks with great results
  5. we still need a name for you andy. Espically after that little cypress incident.
  6. yea, but the flat surface on top is not that big. I like the sonic, cause it is capable of the most configurations. I want to mount my rebel vertical on top, and my pc101 right beside it. I dont want to use the bracket the hangs the still camera right on your forehead, at least not yet anyways.. I want to play around with it and see what configurations i like best for what dives. This just seems to have the most mountable areas. Flat on each side and on top, and you can get the forehead bracket for stills. My rawa was good for a starter helmet, I just want something with a little more options. That and im getting tired of dealing with camera boxes and stuff.
  7. anyone using one? http://www.skydanceheadgear.com/sonic.htm I would like to topmount everything, but still have the option of side mounting if i prefer later. And I want something that has a full forehead shell on it so I don't have a huge sight assembly sticking out like on my rawa. I have already looked into a flattop, but I don't want something that big and bulky
  8. quality wise, the videos are the same. With a non linear, you can add more effects, but their first skydive was plenty enough effect. Untill non linear catches up speed wise, i think that linear will continue to be the standard. I can have a complete video done in 10 minutes, and ours end up being around 7 minutes.
  9. check to see if you have USB 2.0 ports on your computer and get a USB 2.0 Card Reader as well I use a Sandisk Ultra II Card also with my rebel and it works great!
  10. we arent a cessna only dz, but sometimes we have cessna only days when its less busy. Those days, i end up doing everything myself. We have a linear setup that does dvd or vhs, their preferance. And I do my digital still on my laptop. But on busy weekends, we have packers and video dubber. But always same day delivery, usually within 30 minutes or less
  11. i was talking to some of the other camera guys at my dz, and they are telling me from experence that 15mm isnt wde enough.. They are telling me that I need something wider, like 10mm. This is about 90% for tandems and I fly pretty close. Can someone post some pictures using a 15mm lens and something wider?
  12. well, i've got over a 100 jumps already on it, and just need a wider lens for it. I normally use the kit lens and zoom it all the way, and just use sport mode. I just need a lens that matches or is wider than my video lens..
  13. How's this? Is it even close to what I want? http://cgi.ebay.com/Fisheye-16mm-Lens-For-Canon-EOS-Digital-Camera-NEW_W0QQitemZ7592104922QQcategoryZ4687QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  14. How many mm's should i be looking for? like i said before, i want it wider than my kinko .43 thats on my vid camera, and i wouldn't mind a little fisheye effect
  15. I have a rebel and need a wide lens for it. But I have no idea what to get. I dont know if they are adjustable like my stock lens, but i want something a little bit wider that my kinko .43. Any suggestions. There are a few people that use the adapter lens and I think the picture guality suffers to much. And price is an issue, dont want to spen an arm and a leg and I want something that would be compatable with future cameras if possible
  16. there are a few poeple at my dz that use those wide angle adapter lens. They do make the lens wider, but the picture quality suffers alot. I prefer my stock lens, but i really want a real wide angle lens
  17. try here http://www.cdcovers.cc/dvd_f.php
  18. I see lots of people beating their pilot chutes flat when they get done packing. They flip their rig upside down, with the riser covers on the ground and the BOC in the air and they beat it untill their pilot chute is flat. Always looks kinda dumb to me cause when their beating on it, thr rig is kinda bending in hlaf where the main and reserver meet.
  19. Ill be there jumping and you can use what I shoot video/digital stills
