  1. My avatar is so ugly it is a modern art masterpiece! 1925 (Ahhh Ahhhhh Ahhhhh)posts in my thread!!! Keep it up folks!
  2. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=790180;search_string=glide%20distance;guest=42591290#790180 Here I am doing Ian's job for him. I'll just go ahead and tell Sangiro to fire him as he is slacking. Ian's probably out in his red shirt at the local Atlanta gay kareoke bar, singing: "I know what boys want" "I know what guys like" "Boy's like...." "Boy's like...." "Boy's like Me."
  3. Nice dude! Stirring the pot at work is always fun as long as you can get away with plausible deniability! Remember the three rules for starting shit: 1. Admit nothing... 2. Deny everything... 3. Make counteraccusations... and the golden rule: 1. If it is shinney and not bolted down, take it because you never know when you might need it.
  4. It is probably the asbestos linning. Don't breath it in. The good thing is that if you spontainiously combust upon rentry your rig will probably not burn up. At least you can go in as a flamer with a non burning rig... Have your local rigger check it out.
  5. I do not think that you will find one as there are to many variables to encompase in such a chart. You need to take in Temp, humidity, DA, wind, canopy size, canopy type, porosity of material, size of lines, wing loading, jumper body position, brake line shrinkage, & line length to name a very few of the variables. An aircraft operating manual will have a few charts on take off and landing distances but even then there are many assumptions that are figured in on those charts and sometimes they are not as accurate as you would think. You can figure glide ratio of about 2.5:1 on smaller canopies (if you are a good pilot). From there you could extrapolate speed from distance and time. After you figure in the upper level winds you might be able to figure out some of the variables, but finding out upper level winds would be expensive as you would need to fly at least a triangular pattern at every altitude and figure out the wind speed by averaging your ground speed against airspeed. That is expensive to do as it would take awhile and most DZO's do not want to spend that amount of money in fuel or hot section time. The NWS forcast for winds aloft is just a forcast and is usally wrong. So now do you see that what you are asking for is a rather nebulous subject and would encompase to many variables to even approach being accurate? If you do find your chart please post it as I would like to see it.
  6. I would say Nick is full time, and I'm part weekend... CRW jumps do not = swoop practice!
  7. That will be entirely enough out of you Armstrong!!!! Are you coming to colorado in Aug? I'm really looking forward to seeing all of the people in person in Aug and drinking a beer or three with them. I know Ian is coming and I think Paul is coming too. I am really looking forward to meeting Aggie Dave in person. It would be good to see you too Steve. I'm not going to compete in the CPC but just the PST. I will stay on the side lines and "Coach" people with the loudener. Ian likes it if you "coach" him with the megaphone while he packs.
  8. He is a girl.. He just has a very large clit and his ovaries descended . I submit the following photo as proof!
  9. Shift your package to the right side. The added weight of your sack will offset teh turn causing it to fly straight. Also check to see if your leg straps are the same length byt undoing them from the friction adaptor and measuring them from the leg strap attachment point on the harness. Then measure the lift webs to ensure they are the same. Check your risers too as they may stretch over time. If the rig got wet and dryed unevenly then it could have shrunk unevenly. You can try to wash it again and hang it up so that it dry's evenly. Ensure that you have equal size links on the risers and try to sit very straight up in the harness. You could have developed some bad habits on less loaded canopies and are just now realizing them. If all else fails then you should upsize and buy my 89 jvx. Best of luck dude.
  10. I have told Stu time and time again about upgrading from the Commodore 54, but he is just stuck in the eighties. Some peoples children.... You buy them the books.... You buy them the horse.... Does he learn how to ride the horse? No he stands on the books and fucks the horse. Stu the horse fucker...
  11. Allright OK people... This dude is going down the fucked up path and it is fun to bag on people (trust me I love doing it more than anyone else) but let's tell the dude some good information like how much this canopy will dive out compared to others and what he can do to prevent those off heading openings that spin up like the video he posted. The velo is a different canopy than any other canopy on the market. It is even different than any CB canopy made! I have not jumped a 120 but that is a pretty big CB wing. Unless you are a fat kid (fatter than most of the fat bastards on here) you will not find it to be a very responsive canopy. It will probably have a slower turn rate and will be defficult to get back from a long spot compared to an equivelantly sized and loaded 9 cell. This canopy will dive faster and furthen for a given amount of input compared to any other canopy out there. Be ready for that so no low turns and I mean it! This canopy will have an amazing amount of lift when you hang in deep brakes but do not expect a lot of fwd speed in deep brakes. Rear's will give you a little less lift but you will have the fwd speed. Full flight is more of a controlled free fall on the velocity. It will require a big area to shut down even in a full flight approach. A front riser turn to approach will result in very powerfull swoops but do not expect this canopy to recover like a stilletto or sabre 2. After a front riser turn it will still sink out and has very little self recovery. If you did nothing (no flare) you would probably die. Have fun be carefull don't fly into the earth at a high rate of speed. That is about the best advise I can give you.
  12. I put the Eibach prokit springs on mine (essentially what you have on yours) to drop it a little, installed an AEM Cold Air Intake, changed the horn out with Hella Super Tones horn, and installed Hella 550 Driving Lights so far. I debadged the rear door and the 2.3 emblems on the side. I also removed the door guards on the sides as it make a cleaner look to the door. Now the doors do not look like two pieces. I want to change my sway bars out with the Racing Beat sway bars, install the Eibach Camber kit, change the 5th gear to a more fuel effecient gearing, replace the exhaust system (Im debating on weathor or not to do the cat delete exhaust or cat back), and replace the rear motor mount to a stiffer mount. I am going to ground the throttle body this afternoon. I also plan on pulling the front grill out and using it to make a mold for a new carbon fiber grill without the mazda badge. I hate badges on cars. I'm not going to pay them a large amount of money to advertise for them. In the future I will also change out the light bulbs to LEDs on the interior. LEDS last longer and are brighter than the stock bulbs. I would also like to change the head lamps to HID's and add angle eyes to the setup. You can find out a lot about this car by reading on mazda 3 forums . com. Good prices for parts can be found at nsnmotorsports.com and you can get a discount by putting the code "forumref" in when you order.
  13. I have teh 2.3L 3. I love it. The speed 3 is ok in my opinion but it is a lot to pay for premium gas just because it is turbo'd. I am going to change my suspension around quite a bit on my 2.3 and make it a lot stiffer. I don't drive everyday so it doesn't bother me. You will like the 3 it is a good car.
  14. Nothing like cutting away down into the team you were filming!

  17. Her Her..... Good for her. Are you and philly going to be her evaluators?
  18. Hmmm what about the rules pertaining to advertising in the forums?
  19. It could be worse: "I had a few guys swallow- JTVAL"
  20. "When is it time to call it quits?" Probably two posts ago, but sometimes it is fun to go over the line!
  21. "it was a good thing I wasn't drinking cocacola" at least for your monitors sake!
