"Maybe i should stick with sucking dick instead of posting on dzcom." At least 37...

"Yeah, yeah, yeah... Sizzzarko turns around, bends over and grabs his ankels when Chuck Norris walks into the room." And blows him a kiss!

"Any proposal, much less a BSR, that tells slow, low turning canopies (particularly unpredictable ones) that they _must_ land in a High Performance Landing area, endangers swoopers." x2 You are not going to be able to hold a constructive conversation with this guy Evan. Save your time and let these people just say the same shit over and over again. It is almost like they have their own agenda and now they have to speak as loudly as they can to anyone who will listen. Eventually everyone else will get tired of listenening to them argue with everyone about anything because they are so borred with life that they feel this is the only way to get something accomplished. Sad really.

I got one of those Chuck Norris e-mails today and they are freaking funny!

Landed off??....Let's hear about it!

"Come see for yourself!" SVNH = 1000+ mile one way trip. SV Denver = 35 minute drive from my home. I would love to but it might be a little more expensive for me to go to SVNH.

Chuck Norris round house kicked my face off!

Chuck Norris defines love as the reluctance to murder. If you’re still alive, it’s because Chuck Norris loves you. 6. Chuck Norris isn’t hung like a horse. Horses are hung like Chuck Norris. 7. If you can see Chuck Norris, he can see you. If you can’t see Chuck Norris you may be only seconds away from death. 8. Rather than being birthed like a normal child, Chuck Norris instead decided to punch his way out of his mother’s womb. 9. There are no disabled people. Only people who have met Chuck Norris. 10. Chuck Norris can win a game of Monopoly without owning any property. 11. There is no theory of evolution, just a list of creatures Chuck Norris allows to live. 12. In fine print on the last page of the Guinness Book of World Records it notes that all world records are held by Chuck Norris, and those listed in the book are simply the closest anyone has ever gotten. 13. Chuck Norris invented cancer because he was tired of killing people 14. In an average living room there are 1,242 objects Chuck Norris could use to kill you, including the room itself. 15. Chuck Norris is the only man to ever defeat a brick wall in a game of tennis. 16. Chuck Norris is the reason why Waldo is hiding. 17. When Chuck Norris goes to donate blood, he declines the syringe, and instead requests a hand gun and a bucket. 18. The only reason skydiving has been saved is because Chuck Norris wills it to be!

"and sorry to dissapoint you Krip, I am a guy with a hairy back" I'm sure KRIP would respond but he is to busy taking the crying game shower....

"but where's the logo?" I'm sure he took it off for "DRAG REDUCTION"

"These kind of people are not classed as swoopers.. For the most part i have seen the swoopers be very careful, maybe it is just at the ropzone i frequent. I am sure not all true swoopers want to be compared to as a danny" You are right! We don't! Most of those who are true swoop pureists are VERY cautious and it sucks to be lumped into the same group as those who are dangerous. That is what I have heartache about in these discussions.

It looks like a cave in those pictures. That is the one thing I have always not liked about tunnels is the lack of light.

"it *should* open your eyes...but it won't, I'm sure." "but you go ahead and willfully misconstrue what's being said so you can try to claim some sort of moral high ground all you want." What the fuck is wrong with you? I have no beef with you. I have never met you in person, and I'm sure you have never met me so take your little barbed remarks and go to some other discusion with them. You are doing nothing but making yourself look like a jack ass. The language you use and the wording in your posts are very antagonistic, and frankly I don't wish to continue to discuss this subject with you.

"If the HP and standard patterns are separated, the risk of a mistake leading to a fatality is going to be reduced, regardless of who makes a mistake." I agree with you on that and seperating the landing areas would be ideal but then you should also seperate the airspace above those landing areas too. I feel a complete segregation of airspace and a shit ton of education for the masses would be the logical conclusion of this issue if you really wanted to get at the root cause of this. "I HAVE been hit (at 100' agl) from above and behind, by someone flying non-standard pattern. I would prefer that it doesn't happen again." I am truely sorry that happened to you but what I have a hard time with is the catagorization of all swoopers as being canopy fuckups like the one who hit you or who flew past mollyo.

"That should make you feel more comfortable since "you obviously are incapable of fucking up while swooping."" Now Walt... Did I say that? I am just as capable as you of making a mistake on landing. Please don't put words in my mouth as I have not put words in yours. "A fucked up swoop can easily kill someone." Yup you are correct. Pay your twenty dollars and take your chances just like everyone else. Now what about the person who never swoops and makes a turn to avoid something or someone and takes another person out. Where they performing a "fucked up swoop"? You see it can swing both ways and a lot of the language used in these discussions are fairly one sided by saying that swoopers are causing all of the problems.

"Semantics games so you can point the finger at some other group and say "it's not US, it's those guys"" Go and look at the fatalities. Ian Drennan has pointed out that the majority of the collisions are by non swoopers. "I don't see many accuracy jumpers ripping a 180+ degree turn to final... do you?" Think about what you just said... Accuracy jumpers do not do big turns for their discipline. Instead they fly in deep brakes and make many sashe's to get to the disk. It goes to show that you are speaking out of your ass, and yess I have done accuracy jumps before so I know what I'm talking about.

I have about 700 jumps on a spectre 170 with dacron lines. They are the shizzzzznite!

"and have almost been taken out by a swooper" Can you please use the propper terminology. It is "someone who made a mistake" instead of a swooper. When you people use the term swooper it effects many more that just the person who made the mistake. You say: "No one wants to ban swooping in our small little group that has presented this" If you continue to bundle all people who make mistakes into the group called swoopers than you will end up getting swooping banned. Please think about the words that you type and please do not lump me into the group of fuck ups that turn before they look.
-
Line trim will affect opens adversely. Tell your friend to send it back to PD and get dacron lines put on the spectre. That will give it the best openings. Slider position is also the most important issue in packing for nice openings, especially at Mile Hi. I can show them a thing or two this weekend if they like.

So let me get this straight... You want to hurt your career so that you can skydive? Skydiving will always be there, but carreer opportunities don't come along every day. Fuck skyiving for now man! If you get a big promotion then you would be able to afford it later. Really dude... Skydiving is not all it is cracked up to be. Think about it. 1. You can get killed very easily. 2. You can get badly injured very easily. 3. Other people can kill you by doing something stupid, and they do stupid shit all the time. 4. Other people can injur you badly by doing stupid shit. You are already not current, so stick with your carreer for now and pad your 401 k. Do you think you will be jumping when you are old? Just keep skydiving as a hobby. There are other things out there in life than skydiving. It is sad that people get so wrapped up in skydiving and let it become their only thing in life at the detriment of family, and career. Sure they may reflect back and say they had some great times but the world is a lot bigger and more interesting than a stupid dropzone.

You say: "The question is, what do we expect out of people who make a mistake, realize it and try to minimize the hazard to others?" I say: You are correct. This is why education is the key and possibly making the option of overflying or landing in the HP area so un appealing that people will avoid it like the plague. You say: "It has been said since the first skydiver leapt from an airplane: if you can't handle IT then you should not be jumping." I say: Well put. I agree with you whole heartedly in this statement. We should hold all jumpers to a higher standard in this day and age because the equipment has progress beyond some peoples capability. You shouldn't jump a 50mph canopy if you have a 5 mph brain. You say: "The matter at hand is how to create that environment where all DZs create safer landing patterns. We seem to disagree on how to accomplish that. " I say: I agree that we both see this as a problem but if you really want to solve the root of the problem then total isolation of the two seperate patterns and communication between those who are on the same pattern is essential. Total isolation may be a little drastic but comm between everyone and following the plan is not as drastic and can be done by everyone. Have a good night and I too like teh constructive conversation without those who just type to be heard.

I am going to have to side with Ian on this issue too. For the seperate landing areas to work then there needs to be seperate flight areas. As a pilot you should know about MOA's (Military Operational Area). You can fly in a MOA but it is not recomended, is it? Think of the High Performance parachute landing area as a MOA and everyone else putzing around in it as a C-152 with a student pilot only looking at his panel. Your point about landing at farmer McNasty's place doesn't really relate, as all jumpers should know enough to stay away from there. If a jumper cannot avoid landing in a certain area then maybe they need to go back to AFF ground school. Today's canopies are not as affected by the elements as older designs so the argument of the helpless person being blown by the wind into a no fly or landing area is not acceptable in my book and if the winds are that strong you shouldn't be jumping.
