12,500? I think extra alti is a given

Jessie Farrington (DZO and NW Regional Director) would not let me downsize until was able to land on the peas. And that was with each size as we went down. And we used Skymasters of the same size you discribed, before going to a PD 190 , then Silhouette 170. And it took me a good 70 jumps before I was on a 170.

I'm running OS X 10.1.4, so I can't use it unless I pay $120 for the Jaguar upgrade

According to my 8 ball, it's answer is "YES Likely". I hope so too.

fellow computer gurus - critique please !
BoobieCootie replied to mountainman's topic in The Bonfire
Have you considered getting an eMac perhaps? It costs less than all the gizmos, it's already assembled, and it comes with lots of software ready for you to start working on video ++. Add 2 built-in firewire ports and now you're cooking with natural gas! -
Bootie wear protection-alternative to shoe-goo
BoobieCootie replied to sundevil777's topic in Relative Work
Stay away from condoms even the ribbed-for-her-pleasure kind because the lubrication might make you fall off the step On a serious note, an old bicycle tube might do the job. But I suspect that over time, it might rip around the thread. Then you might want to check out your local cobbler and see if they carry replacement soles. -
My one and only picture wearing a Kurupee...

Since I can't legally possess a firearm in this country, how's this as my weapon against terrorists?

Just wondering what editors do you use for sound. QuickTime Pro (v5) seems to do the job quiet well and so does Panic's Audion (trail copy). And there's Amadeus and Cacophony. They all seem to have one advantage over another, but I can't afford all the shareware fees. Know any others?

And lot's of computing power. Did you know, according to Playboy's Raw Data that it took something like 400 hours to round pi to the 1 trillionth+ decimal place? And that it took the smarties 5 years to design the program?

But too stupid to evade the IRS. Right...

Just how does the LIFE Act make any logical sense? Just how does one prove that they've illegally entered the country, and been living illegally all this time?

Camera helmet advice - top mount vs side mount
BoobieCootie replied to Mak's topic in Photography and Video
Gee... I've always thought that top vs side was depends on the camera. Sure you could mount a PC style on top, but I don't think it makes any sense to side-mount a TRV style. I see your point about top-mount junkies having more video time under their belt. TRV style cameras were probably what they started with. And like you said - they got used to it, and didn't need to change. -
Being a 183 jump newbie, there're times I feel that I could mess up a dive. My fear is not so much as not doing what I'm supposed to; it's wasting the other jumpers' jump money. Sometimes I might get lucky and be invited to join a group. The organizer would even re-work the dive plan to accomodate me. I would usually get the easier parts like being part of the base (very important as I've learned the hard way because the skydive can't happen without the base), or one of the outermost slots (didn't matter if I didn't dock). For times when I solo, I pratice flying my position. I'd ask a group if it's ok to follow them out and just observe. I would practice my turns while I watch the group. After a while, it does get boring and you're right - I'll begin to journey into the darkside. Still, I'm solo-ing because other freefliers would want to get their money's worth by being able to fly relative with others of the same skill and most importantly, not endangering themselves by having me around. Then I've also had the opportunity to be some aspiring vidiot's guinea pig and get video feedback from my sits (if I'm even in it to begin with) I've had the opportunity to jump with less experienced jumpers and put together what I've learned from previous loads. It's these opportunities I get to be load organizer that I put more emphasis on myself to do well. Then there's Weid14 and many others (non-DZ.com) who has been most welcoming to help me progress. And there's Casch who falls like an anchor whom I pass on the goodwill.

Come up to Kapowsin. The weather is going to totally suck, so you'd be paying attention to the lectures ++

Holy! I did not know I had camped in a Super Volcano last Sept. I guess that makes sense - lots of geo-thermal activity (springs, gysers, lava pools, ++) Lot's of animals, and I sure miss the sound of elk buggling as I fall asleep. I also saw a part of the park that burned down about 10~12 years ago. Still charred.

Damn! You guys are good at hunting down info.
