    I had the worst time learning to bag my canopy. i used to get it ready, then have my girlfriend bag it for me ( hangs head in shame).relax! maybe have someone go through it with you, and keep jumping your pack jobs. I'm not saying you won't get a mal, but it does build confidence.     don't touch my rig unless you are my rigger. I have the most personal stock in my pack jobs, why shouldn't I be doing it? I paid a packer for my first hundered jumps or so. Then one day I realized that although they are all professionals ( most of them anyway), they are never going to be as concerned with my gear as I am. On a busy mat things can and do get missed. A worn closing loop, a loose hardlink,etc. Although you should be checking your gear thoroughly, I see a lot of people who don't. I think some people don't know about their gear because they never learned to pack. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

    I voted never. I try to be extremely vigilant in keeping tabs on those in my group, especially those in my immediate vicinity at breakoff. I have a solid track, and rarely find myself at a lower altitude than others in my group when parachutes start deploying. I was also taught to catch some air or " ride the ball" as I make my 180 on breakoff. It helps me get just slightly higher than the formation, allowing me a better view of the breakoff.It only takes a second,and since I do it as I turn, it doesn't cost me distance.     wings dude, that's my vote. I loved my old one and now I really love my new one. My harness fits like a glove. I have made several hop'n'pops from altitude and was never uncomfortable in the saddle, even after loads of high g spirals and practice hooks. Pin protection is excellent and you can get all of the bells and whistles for an incredibly reasonable price.     I have jumped both rigs ( demo before buying my Wings ). I found the g-3 to be a pretty nice rig but not worth the insane amount of money they wanted at the time. With the introduction of the g-4 the price of the g-3 came down somewhat but there are still other rigs that offer more fore less. I found the g-4 to be extremely uncomfortable,but keep in mind it was not a custom rig. I also found it to be a real pain in the ass to pack and close.The one I jumped hac a split bag which made it extremely hard to put the canopy in. --------------------------------------------------------- Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

    I'm wondering if there is any way to find out market shares for the various parachute manufacturers. It would be interesting to find out who sells the most canopies and what is the best selling canopy. I would imagine it would be PD with the Sabre 2, but would like to find actual sales numbers for the last year or so. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

    what with a slow work schedule and shitty weather as of late, I haven't been able to really keep a decent pace. I try to make 5 a week but it just hasn't happened this year so far But, Rantoul is coming and I hope to be able to make up at least some of it! Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

    I'm at about 1.34: 1 on my reserve.although that may seem a little high, it is till lower than my main (1.43:1). I jump where there are a lot of outs and don't feel these numbers are too rediculous.As far as I'm concerned, an unconcious reseve landing is highly improbable, as I have no AAD......     alot of people jump both. I removed the face shield from my oxygen and just wear goggles underneath.The face shields don't stay clean very long and are a pain in the ass to clean. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!
