I wasn't trying to attack you and I undertand your special circumstances.nonetheless, Darwin is still watching and I see no point in driving in the same point over and over to some people. I truly think a lot of people don't get the answers the want at their dropzone from their instructors and peers, so they come looking here. Had you come to these forums with 150 jumps talking about jumping the birdman, hopefully people would have said HELL NO. But, the fact still remains. You would have done it anyway. I'm sure it will be just fine until you get a hard opening and it breaks your neck...... No, just kidding, You wiil probably be okay but I personally wouldn't do it. I can't imagine it would weigh more than some of the camera rigs I see at my DZ. Ask an instructor what he or she thinks. I would also ask an old timer. wow, $ 650 bucks for AFF sounds really cheap. I paid $280 for my ground course and first jump, camera not included. Are you sure that is right? I'm pretty sure packages at my dZ run somewhere around $1500. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

seems to me to be kind a largish canopy progression.But, regardless, have you demoed the canopy or even one similar to it? Correct me if I'm wrong but the Batwing is a 116 ft2 zero p elliptical, right? Your current experience is on a 165ft2 f11 square. I wouldn't jump on a canopy just because it seems like a good deal( if that is your reason) or because the person trying to sell the canopy is telling you how wonderful and easy to fly it is. DEMO other canopies. hell at least demo that one.I personally won't but anything unless I jump it first. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

this really depends on your personal canopy flying style and tastes. both of these canopies are extremely fun, safe and reliable, but they are built to cover two different areas of canopy flight.demo, demo ,demo. I'll say it again, demo! Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

the picture you posted shows a very ill fitting rig. If I had gotten that new from any manufacturer I would have sent it back.If if was bought second hand it should have been more closely inspected for fit and jumped more than once if possible. that's what I think anyway... hey I could be wrong! If you had your C- License I would imagine that you would still be in the USPA data bank. I have gone to other dropzones and forgotten my paper work and found it easy enough to get my credentials confirmed. You will obviously have to go through some type of recurrency training (be briefed and jump with a jumpmaster) but I don't think you will have a huge problem getting back into the swing of things.
