Beer is another four letter word. Just thought I'd point that out. Since you may not remember by about 6pm on the evening of the AGM! Vicki

I have a room booked for the Friday and Saturday night. Going to break my liver in gently this year. The dinner food is pretty rank, but I'm going again... Anyone want to bet on number of tables that get broken this year? Vicki

So I'm back from Eloy, bored and looking forward to a seriously drunken weekend at the AGM. Who else is going? Let the discussion begin! Vicki

I have taken my rig as carry on when flying many times (at least 8 that I can think of in the last year alone). Flying back to the UK from Phoenix I encountered the first ever minor problem with doing so. I went through security with a group of 5 other skydivers most of whom were carrying their rigs on as well. I was the only one to have any issue with my rig. When my rig went through the x-ray machine, the TSA man asked if I had "an inflation canister in my parachute". It took me a moment to figure out that he meant the Cypres, so I pulled out my Cypres card and showed it to him. He read it, consulted a folder that he had, swabbed the rig and then sent me on my way wishing me a pleasant flight. So no real problem and nice to know that they knew what they were looking at (but then this was Phoenix airport!). Vicki

What piisfish said. For exactly that reason! I stayed there in October and it was great. Vicki

First day back at work after Eloy boogie. It REALLY sucks. And the jet-lag doesn't help. Vicki

Back at work today which sucks, but Eloy was just awesome! 3 jumps stand out for me: 1. My beer Hybrid with Alana and Justi. Guys, that was way cool! You rock!!! 2. The dz.com way - laid back, fun dive with old and new friends. 3. The Brit 21-way. Other cool stuff included the chopper, the Beech, the DC3 and doing Victor's first 4 and 5-ways. My favourite drinking story of the boogie came from New Years Eve. A few Brits had been drinking vodka red bulls (the beer didn't contain enough alcohol for our tastes!) and arrived back at our motel at about 3am. 3 of us a little the worse for wear and one sober driver. Well, there was the swimming pool, all fenced and locked up... and unheated. Obviously at the time it seemed like an amazing idea to climb the fence, jump in and swim a length each before running away when the Security guy turned up!!!!! I can confirm that unheated pools in winter are DAMN cold! I had a blast. See you all there next year! Vicki

The only difference with the adult versions is that they have a less child-like cover. I always go for the kids version! -
Last time I checked (about a week ago) sunrise in London was 8am, sunset at 3.45pm. Depressing is just not enough. Bring on those longer days!!!!! I need to see some daylight! Vicki

Yeah, Rosa is awesome!

I saw that on the news this morning too - isn't it fantastic news?! -
Just wondering how many of us are planning on taking our rigs as hand luggage? I always do but I'm wondering whether a lot of people with carry on rigs will make getting through Heathrow easier or more difficult? Vicki

IMHO the Spectre is a great canopy that opens really nicely, feels solid in flight and will get you down safely. When I demo-ed the Pilot I was gob-smacked at how good the openings were - definitely better than my Spectre and how nicely it landed. It didn't feel quite as solid in flight, but that's more to do with the difference between a 7-cell and a 9-cell than anything else. If I won the lottery, a Pilot would be quite high on my shopping list! But as others have said - DEMO! Find out what you like and then shop accordingly. Good luck!

Hey Liz! It's grey and really cold here atm and I can't wait to get over there and join you guys! Seeing the sun will be good, having more than 8 hours daylight per day will be f*cking amazing! I hate British winters. 8 days... Vicki
