From http://www.hostelz.com/display.php/32757+Apartment+Comte+D'Empuries I don't think the service is actually run by the apartments - it just stops near them (this is the only info I could find about the service online). I believe it also stops very near the DZ. You could try calling the DZ to find out - the staff there speak excellent English. hth!

Thank you all so much for your feedback and opinions – much appreciated.

I am awaiting a reply from PD - simply interested to hear from anyone who has jumped a Spectre lined with dacron and to hear of anything that I may not have thought of. Cheers!

:2:0 It was surprisingly un-cold at altitude in the UK this weekend so I did 2 nice jumps.

My Spectre 135 needs a re-line. The canopy isn't opening as well as it used to, the flare is not what it was and I think it is time I sent it to PD for a re-line since I really can't afford a new canopy right now! I've used the search function and read some threads about how Spectres with dacron lines open a little softer and this seems like a good thing to me although anyone with any experience of using this set up would be appreciated. Before I go ahead and get the canopy relined with dacron, are there any disadvantages I should know about? How long does a dacron lineset last relative to microline? How much does it increase pack volume by? (I am sure it will still fit in my container just fine) Is there any problem using dacron lines with mini risers and slinks? Anything else I may not have thought of? Many thanks!

Not an instructor, but I seem to remember that the temporary student membership is good for one year or until the student gets progressed to freefall (RAPS - I think it is level 3 for AFF) Vicki

No shit there we were one evening at a DZ... Four people... one bottle of absinthe... gone in 45 minutes... (It seeemed like such a good idea at the time!) We tried the old trick of lighting sugar in a teaspoon, then dropping that in absinthe and drinking it - but we were a bit too drunk to get that to work! The aftermath was complete carnage. As I left, I remember seeing one guy passed out on another guy's bed with his head in a bucket... apparently one of them woke up to find themselves cuddling the other one's foot! As for me - I was literally green when I woke up and felt like I'd died all day. I was also in big trouble with the DZ Manager because 2 of the people I'd wiped out with absinthe were on the DZ staff! Never again! Vicki

I believe it is more like 25% once you add VAT and import duty! Vicki -
My first canopy was a PD-170 which I had from brand new and did around 400 jumps on. The first couple of hundred jumps it slammed me hard just about every jump. After that, it seemed to settle down and gave lovely gentle on-heading openings.

Try here Vicki

If you are less than keen on smelling what others like to share, I have a great tip... Wear a full face helmet. Put a couple of drops of the essential oil of your choice (I tend to use olbas oil, but lavender oil is good too) in the nose piece of your helmet. When people start to "share", put helmet on and enjoy the sweet smell of whatever essential oil you have chosen rather than the un-sweet smell that is being shared around the aircraft! Vicki

Rosa, you'll be just fine!

Don´t worry Adrian, I had a few bits and pieces for Ann in my helmet bag, but yes, you did forget to post me the sunglasses! The weather here remains beautiful... this evening... go-karting and COCKTAILS - lots of ´em! Tonight is our last night and the forecast for tomorrow is not too good... so tonight, we drink! Vicki
-
One too many Vicki? Hell yeah! I woke up at 11am today after a fair few cocktails and a not-too-late night... to discover that one of the girls had been out partying until 7.30am! The cocktails are too good! Off go-karting shortly... hehehehe! Watch out people! Vicki

The weather is beautiful and warm (so unlike when I flew out of London last night), the skies are blue and this place just remains as beautiful as ever.
