  1. Highest without oxygen: 17,500' (a night jump - hypoxic in the dark in sub freezing temperatures is a really bad idea!) Highest with oxygen: 23,000' Lowest: 1,700' Vicki

  6. My experience and practical research suggests that there is little difference between American beer and water! In fact... what do American beer and sex in a boat have in common? ...wait for it...! They're both f*cking close to water! Vicki

  12. Just over 1.2 with 1,000+ jumps. In fact I have always been way under those limits and have never yet been bored under canopy. Point to note - those wingloadings are a maximum and there really is nothing at all wrong in having a lower wingloading!
  13. I'll be fine to jump by then! In fact, now that I'm off the pain meds I feel fine to jump now. However, the doc said to wait 2 weeks after surgery until jumping so for that reason, I won't be jumping this weekend. That and the fact that it's bloody cold in England atm! The proposed date for this jump is 4+ weeks post surgery. Put me down as a definite!
  14. Betsy - just wondering what the deal is with re-pack cycles for foreign jumpers at Eloy? Will the BPA 6 month cycle apply for British jumpers, or do I need to get a reserve re-pack? Cheers
  15. :1:1 One jump from cloudbase before the weather closed in. So fantastic to get my knees in the breeze again!
  16. Smoking is a disgusting, smelly habit and people who smoke around non-smokers or around gear are selfish in the extreme. Ugggghhhhh! Vicki
  17. I'm thinking I may pop down to Headcorn briefly on Saturday - I haven't been there for a while and it's always nice to pop down and say hello!
  18. All DZs seem to have different policies about accepting students from different DZs. If you plan on visiting another DZ, I suggest you give them a call in advance and have a chat with the Chief Instructor who will be able to advise you. Obviously make sure you take your training record card, log book and BPA membership card (provisional or full) along with you so they can see where you are at. Good luck!
  19. You can find a map of all the DZs in the UK here South Cerney is shown in more detail here hth!

    Pizza !

Sweetcorn, onion, black olives, pineapple and jalapenos on thin crust pizza. Yum... Vicki
  21. Matt, I feel your pain... After having been stung in a similar way once, I now fill in my holiday form, get it signed by whoever needs to sign it, photocopy it, then submit it and guard the photocopy with my life! That way there can be no arguments later. HR suck. Vicki
  22. I've been there in early January at the end of Christmas boogies and it's generally been jumpable but fairly cold.
  23. If a guy wears a kilt it HAS to be done properly... i.e. NOTHING worn underneath it! Vicki
  24. Sarah, I have owned 4 Symbi suits and will shortly be ordering my 5th. I like the suits and the fact that they are local means that you can get measured by them and can go and have a look at fabric samples etc. in person. If you want more cordura than they offer as standard just ask them - I actually mentioned this to Dona from Symbi at the weekend and she said they would be happy to put extra cordura on our team suits if we wanted it. Also, if you order now you should get your jumpsuit fairly soon as this is the slow time of year in the UK. Vicki
