NIIIOOOOCE photos! I wouldn't go as far as to say that Ohio is really really cool though... it's not bad, definately the best in the midwest. I must say the photos you posted are of the coolest parts or the coolest state park which is basically the coolest place in the entire state, except for middle bass island. Hocking Hills is a sweet spot. I've done that hike and camped out up there. Great day hikes! otherwise, no offense to my homeland here, i'd have to say there are a couple dozen of cooler states. oh yeah, and that ugly guy is seth!!!! AAAAHHHH!!!! jk jk cajun chickens all the way. peace http://www.exitshot.com

Skydive Arizona Dropzone.com 2nd Annual Holiday Boogie
lewmonst replied to sangiro's topic in The Bonfire
DD, i must say yes being the second to last out is very impressive on the 300-way. I thought you were flying one of the planes though, i really didn't think you were in it. great photo, and braggin rights. B^2!!!! Wow, what a list of appetizers for the boogie. You are by far the best hostest with the mostest ever in the history of the world. can you wave your pixie wand and raise the temperature at night so we all don't freeze? you're just freekin awesome. will you be my agent? Balloon Jumpers! I've got climbing harnesses, rope, grigri's and a camera helmet. Zenister, I'd be in on the head down launch from the ropes. I helped Lance do it off the balloon at Rantoul last year. I didn't get to jump the balloon at Eloy last time because of winds. will find my way there this coming boogie. Don't forget, it's all about the video... (yes... it's still being worked on... it's coming, see other posts) and to everyone who's anyone who will be in Eloy... i'll definately make a point of hanging out more this year. I didn't spend enough crazy time with you s! eloy! eloy! ELOY! peace, love, eloy http://www.exitshot.com -
Skydive Arizona Dropzone.com 2nd Annual Holiday Boogie
lewmonst replied to sangiro's topic in The Bonfire
_________________________________________________________________^ and ______________^ No one, and I mean no one, has the right to change anything i say to pink! You may have issues but don't pin them on me. GK's??? are you refering to the golden boys? i must have missed that thread. send me the link and i'll check it out. What color rig should i look for, pink? At least you recognize the only interesting RW footage is of someone flailing. It's like race car driving, boring to watch except for the wrecks. [take that ] and puuhleeeeez, "tumbling uncontrollably"... that was a lame attempt to mirror my knock on the deployment position. try to think outside your two-dimensional box. jump with me, let's see who's tumbling. you won't need a camera, i like to chase and video you flailers and your comedic attempts at flying vertical. bring it. peace http://www.exitshot.com -
Skydive Arizona Dropzone.com 2nd Annual Holiday Boogie
lewmonst replied to sangiro's topic in The Bonfire
[Lew stands tall amongst the firepower, no ducking] oh yeah, was that that record of people flying around in the deployment position? i think i heard about it. I guess that's a big deal for skydivers... oh, wait, do you even skydive? all i ever hear about from you is pilot stuff... aren't there forums for pilots you can postwhore on? [closing eyes ready to take first blow] [mexican voice] Cajones, get the Tequila and the matches, we're going to light this one up![/mexican voice] http://www.exitshot.com -
Skydive Arizona Dropzone.com 2nd Annual Holiday Boogie
lewmonst replied to sangiro's topic in The Bonfire
The cold wind in a Chicago winter will save you from the flames and hot sun of Eloy, where everyone who was anyone was partying in the sky last Holiday Boogie... peace http://www.exitshot.com -
i have no control over him. i personally use Cajones's Rodriguez Brother's t-shirts to wipe. then i just throw them in the dirty laundry pile. isn't that what all mexicans do? peace http://www.exitshot.com

i have nothing pierced, at all. does anyone think that's sexy? peace http://www.exitshot.com

Sweet Bets!!!!! you are always finding new ways to spread your wings and fly... the endless sky is yours! i've got a handful of flights on a GTI or classic... i need to get my own wings so i can fly with you all in Eloy again! peace http://www.exitshot.com

Yes, but those jumps would be 'fun jumps', remember, you have to do coach jumps in order to fill your card and get your license. And you should do coach jumps all the way until you get your A license. Most dz's have a program set up for coach dives between AFF graduation and A license qualification. It's all part of the ISP. Do not go solo just because it's cheaper. You will learn a lot with coach dives, survival skills most importantly, and you need to to get your A. Check with your dz, you can probably save by buying the entire coach program in full or in clumps of 5 jumps at a time, at least you can at my dz. Once you have your A, you're home free, cheaper jumps, do whatever you want. Having followed the ISP, you should be safe to yourself and those around you. then you'll just have to worry about the price of gear...

Adding to what Quade said, video is also easier in that you don't have to worry about timing. Just turn it on, hit record, and go. Whereas with stills, you'll be dealing with some sort of blow or bite switch. One more thing to think about while your flying, when to release the shutter. there are lots of photography books that can help you take better stills. the same rules apply in the air as in normal photography, that is, lighting is the most important thing, and then framing. It's just a lot harder to do while skydiving. Also, while you're learning to fly a video camera, you can play with stills on the ground, learn how to use your camera and all it's functions. Like Quade said, the video will train your head so that when you start shooting stills, the skills you need will come easier. good luck! peace http://www.exitshot.com

yeah... don't worry boys, i'll organize you all into a proper flock when i'm not tandem video whorein... i can't remember what my speed was from a couple weeks ago, kelly, do you? peeeessowt Edit to say: Kelly, I forgot to thank your dad for lending me the crossfire, so please tell him thanks for me! http://www.exitshot.com

yo yo yo yoshi, yeah, agree with that which you said on headdown... which leads me to say, why are you wasting your time and money competing in 4-way in the ISL. I mean, it's really funny and all, i chuckle everytime i think of vern and kelly flying on their belly... and i'm going to laugh my ass off watching them this weekend. but to me, that's a lot of jump money to toss out and not freefly. yeah, vern asked me to be your video biotch... I said if you need me i'll do it, but i ain't payin to belly fly. i'm to poor, i have to be choosy. i'd rather do tandem video's and accumulate some account cash. the way i figure it, with the caravan and 9 to 12 4-way teams, i'll likely video every load i can get on... more than one team. oh sorry, just realized i'm talking about a 4-way comp on the freefly forum... peace http://www.exitshot.com

we be loving you all over and over, like in prison. yes, the ducky was abused prior to finding a new home, so you can attribute any wierd behavior to that. jk yo chuckstermunkey, my mom says hi. she said "i think he was drinking..." remember that phone call last night? ha ha... moms... peace http://www.exitshot.com

High: seeing holes in the clouds for the first time all weekend, packing up the cesna with the few people hanging out, and taking off... Low: landing in the plane, no more holes. no jumps this weekend. peace http://www.exitshot.com

everyone's replys are right on... that is, we can't tell you exactly or roughly. it can take anywhere from 100 jumps, more likely from 300 to 1000 to 2000... it's much harder than flying belly. and how do you define competently? AD-A license ability? AD-B? it took me about 300 freefly jumps where i was mostly sitflying, and transitioning to headdown for short amounts of time, to be able to stay headdown and relative, not cork, and sometimes be able to dock. i wouldn't define it as competent headdown flying, but i could do it. I am continually improving on it, and have a long way to go to be able to fly like i want, freely, instinctively, smoothly. that would be competent to me, being able to fly confidently and safely in a big-way, turning points... yes, a long way... peace http://www.exitshot.com

well... I drove from Cincinnati, Ohio! to the big c (crack, get it? ) last summer. it was awesome! Take as much water and film for your camera as you can find, and take as much time there as you can. I was only there for one day & night. I hit the South Rim. I took my mountain bike, and while you're not allowed to bike off pavement (hurts the land), i did enjoy biking everywhere cars were prohibitted, only tour shuttles went. I camped at t he campground. no worries, whatever you forget you can get there, just expect to pay a lot more. there is a little grocery store, camping supplies and resaurant and all that. Next time i go, i want to go for 2 weeks, one to hike accross and the other to raft through. It's so unbelievably beautiful... i was in awe. total awe. as for driving there, if i remember, i stopped once between Dallas and the big C, in western New Mexico. i was going to camp out, but by myself, with a jeep of skydiving stuff, everything looked too sketchy to just pitch a tent. i got a hotel room. drive fast, not too fast. i can't attest to your gas mileage, if anything, 30 mpg is at best. that is, when your car is most efficient, which might be 60mph, and your mpg goes down when you go too fast. All the GC info is here: http://www.nps.gov/grca/ If you are serious about hiking down to the river, that takes serious preparation, and lots and lots of water. read all about it before you go. they also say it takes a day to hike down, and 2 days to hike back out. so, plan a lot of time, get a guidebook & map. water, water, water. and it's not recommended to go in the summer, the bottom of the canyon is way way hot, dangerously. but goddamn is it beautiful. hey, if you want to hike it, i'll hike it with you! it's definately something i plan to do. peace http://www.exitshot.com

we be loving you too, but we be not there next weekend say hi to everyone for us! hey chuckie, we still love you too. http://www.exitshot.com

no, well, that's not the reason i posted that. But i knew someone would go there ha, thanks katie.... i said he rocks because he does. He does things for me because he's just a great guy and he does things for other people because he just does. He's incredibly unselfish, and has such a good heart, i just thought why not tell a few people that. i just want people to know i appreciate him so much. that's all. i could say so much more... but i don't need to. 831 peace http://www.exitshot.com

um, well, the jump has to be pre-declared your initiation jump, and who you jump with are your parents. They should bring you to the altar with a name. If there is a qualified Rodriguez brother there to do the initiations, you can, otherwise, wait till WFFC. the video... well, you can ask him. he's working on it. B^2 - thanks. we're loving you back. Kris, thanks, again. peace http://www.exitshot.com
