I have been to Texas but it was dusty and dry, that is why I said, Do you farm you cattle in sheds or in patutre? I googled texas beef farming found images of both pasture grazing a shed farming. which is more common? I have never seen cattle in a shed in NZ, maybe in a snow storm but not living in there, they are disgusting and the stench that comes from them is aweful and inhumane. I know Norcal farms like that but thier grapes get the royal treatment then just fall to the ground, the irrigation there is wastefull and prehistoric. i canpt speak for Texas and land mass has nothing to do with quality. if you are going to claim the best, you have to be able to satnd beside your comments. I can't answer your question, but at this stge I would continue the hve a SLR for stills and a contour for video. I'm sure DSE or somone could do so. For handcam you are not expected to be a photographer,you are just capturing the experience, and you job is to keep the customer safe, photography is secondary. As an outside photographer you are supposed to be just that, a photgrapher. I can't wait until they split the prism somehow in common SLR's to allow you to use the shutter for photos, while rolling video. That is where I see it going. Grabbing video frames as an outside camerman is cheating in my opinion, and you should avoid going down that road for the good of the profession. That may be the case now, for mainsteam stuff. I have access to a skydiving DVD program that is almost completely automatic, I saw it produce a DVD, stills and upload to the web in less than 6 minutes on an old laptop thatis cluttered up with junk. My input was less than a minute. I 'could' pack and there would be a DVD and photos ready and the video is already uploaded to the web and can be used as a widget (is tht how you spell it?) on facebook or similar with links to your wesite. More than an editing program. No fading no rendering (well it does everything itself), it will be on the market very soon it works now and is more than 95% complete. What happnes in vegas stays in vegas. Who likes editing anyway, might as well leave that for the computer. Sorry to hold thew carrot in front of your nose, but just warning people not to spend too much money on editing. Theree will be much less expensive and user freindly options in the very short future. Don't underestimate the understanding of young humans. My wife did her first jump at 13 years old. She decided she wanted to at 12 years old, saved her pocket money for a year, did the jump and by the time she was 16, she had already done 6 tandems. She paid for each and every one of them herself, had 3 jobs while in school to do so and on her 16th birthday at 7:30 am she was up in a plane doing her aff stage 2. She is now has well over 7000 jumps, multipule world and national records, has competed at the world championships 3 times as well as other international events, has taken over 1300 tandems and earns almost 100k a year from skydiving. I suppose she was too young and too small to know what she wanted when she was 12 though huh? She left school early to concentrate on skydiving and her teacher said she would never make anything out of skydiving. How wrong could her teacher have been. She is now still only 26 years old, has 2 skydiving companies and is more successful than most. You can live your life half empty or half full. Leigh is a half full kind of girl. Anyone that serious should consider the commercial skydiving diploma in New Zealand. You will pay less, and gather the jumps and skills you require faster. I did the course in 2002 and I have been working as a full time skydiver ever since. You can earn good money being a skydiver , but just like you, you have to be willing to travel, receptive to new ideas and be prepared to part with about $15k. i now earn about $80-100k per year and so does my wife. Both are great as far as i can see. i cannot speak for the contour personaly as i don't have one but friends do. the GoProHD is not only better then a CX100, but it absolutley blows it out of the water... The footage is clearer, the photos are great quality and there is no isssues with failing switches. the lenses we usually use for our camera are not very good in the great scheme of things but have searved us well over the last decade. Time to move on, if you are and outside cameraman, get a contour, if you are a handicam TM get a goproHD. simple and inexpensive! thow your cx100 away, they are more problem than they are worth. Sometimes we have no choice other that to use fossil fuels, this is not our fault, this is the fault of the greedy, the regulations and intelectual property laws. If someone invents an electric plane for example, there is nothing stopping Cessna or piper or a conglomerate of all aircraft companies from purchasing the patent and not implementing it because they may make more money in the long run selling spare parts for IC aircraft etc. If I am to pay a company to offset my carbon i want to make damned sure it is going to the right place and doing what they say, of course some of it is going to be administraton costs so we will pay more. For this reason I will act locally and think globally. There is no perfect answer, but credits are a damned sight better than simply allowing pollution to go unchecked. If people make money out of us not being able to breath propery/polluting. Those people need to contribute to the clean up. Carbon is only the surface of the problems we are facing but you might want to consider this scenario also. If you charge me lots of money for billowing out carbons, I may decide to invest in technology that will reduce my output or counteract it... For example, If a factory can dump its shit in a river without onsequnce, then they will do it. If cost to clean the river are imposed on the factory, it may cost them more in the long run to just dump the shit and they will be forced to create a solution. Try to think along those lines...I don't necesarily agree entirly with the whole carbon trading thing but at least it is a start. The auditing problem of where the moeny will go is a separte issue, You could start the solution to that by auditing the federal reserve, but that would open a can of worms that would destroy the USA as we know it, huh! This is the article to the above link, it astounds me that none of you are interested. Or is it that you are interested but unwilling to acknowledge your supposed enemies are not necessarily the enimies at all. These are my true feelings, I have no malice intended in discussiong this topic and what I plan to achieve is a deeper understanding about the current relations between Iran and the USA. There is also a video of the interview, the presedent of the Iran seems well spoken and rational, but I/we have to remeber he is a politician as is the presedent of the USA. It seems to me, that the miliraty industrial complex is itching to get into Iran and there is plenty of propoganda currently being spread that is trying to achieve that goal. The propoganda tells me that the moves of the corrupt and powerful are dependant on the popular vote. So in turn the responsability lies with the population to make sure the correct decisions are made and that this subject needs to be investigated further and in full clarity of the public. I do not recall, did the USA have a vote before they/you went into Iraq and Afghanistan or was that decision made for you? or was there not enough time for that? discuss? I would like to see a 'live' debate between Obama and or Clinton v's Ahmadinejad and or his chief of security on the nuclear topic as well as other major subjects in the world.
