Thats what happens when you work for a company that pretends to be the biggest in the country, tells you they are the biggest in the county, hires staff like they are the biggest in the country and buys plant like they are the biggest in the country. When in reality they are not doing that many numbers compared to their staff numbers, are forced to pay agents more than what the instructors get payed and are competing with a very successful business. I worked for them too koppel, know how they think and they will lie to your face and hold you to ransom. I had the audacity to tell them the drinking and drug culture was costng them 100's of 1000's of$$$ per year. I would go home and see the crew drinking beer at the pub, when there was blue skies, midday and 30 + people to do. A cloud woul come over, rain for half hour..... Beer oclock!!!, it is the tropics for fucks sake it does that. That culture is what has killed that company and Leigh and I were told we were no longer needed in the company afte we tried to help them. This was 7 weeks before our wedding and we had already given them 2 months notice. NO MORALS. Fortunately I picked up work at the Gong, made much more money and had much more fun. and returned there the following season. Bull shit. Burton make a huge range of poducts and the cheaper stuff is made with less expensive materials, the middle stuff is made with better materials an the top stuff has a nicer/more hip picture. If you get a burton custom etc then you will get a great snowboard. Get last years at sale price rather than next years at a premium. If you buy a lesser model you get a lesser product. I do not 'ever' buy a new stick but highly reccomend new boots and bindings. You can buy 2 or 3 second hand boards in great condition for the same price of a new one, who cares if it is last years or 3 years ago model if it was ridden by an instuctor, it probably never went of piste anyway. I would recommend burton mission EST bindings with the toe cup and burton ion boots. You can get plenty of life out of boots and bindings but if you ride hard and not in the learners area all day, ANY board can blow and edge if you hit a sharprock at speed during a turn. If you have a sintered base and sandwich constuction then you have a good stick. It depends on what style of riding and where you ride as to how stiff or what shape core you will like. I am also a quaified snowboard instuctor, but simply hated that job, unlike skydiving any kook can be a snowboarding instuctor, not saying you are a kook, but the insrtructor fraternity here in New Zealand are a bunch of kooks. I was lucky enough to work for one of the companies that actually paid us more for becoming PTY LTD companies andwas stoked about it. an extra $5 per jump at 1000+ per year is an extra 5k. It cost 1k to set up and another 1k for work cover insurance. So an extra 3k+ per year (minus tax) It is a good idea to be pty. ltd. in my opinion but if you work for a company that is not prepared to pay you extra fo doing so, then the issue is not the pty ltd thing but the tight ass/broken ass company you work for not compensating for the extra cost to you. If you pay workcover (in aus) then it ony goes up if you hurt youself and claim personally. If the company pays, then if your workmate hurts themself then the company has to pay more for you and every other intuctor in that company... so it makes sense to have each person on their own insurance plan. If you are still at ASC then that is the problem with your pay, not the PTY LTD thing. Being a contactor without the PTY LTD thing makes it a grey area. This subject was beaten to death in another thread. My toggle seldom go lower than my shoulders besies the final shut down on flare, but we use 330's for everything. You are aware that even if you beleve 9/11 was entirly orchastrated by muslim extremists, it is still by definition a conspiracy? The mistake of ignoring this simple fact is something that I see often. The term conspiacy theorist has been used broadly in the media but I don't think there is a person on the planet that beleives that 9/11 was done by one person as there was more than one plane. You should be more definative when you say conpricacy. You should look up the meaning of the word and decide how you use it, I laugh to myself when people talk about conspiracy theorists being whackjobs then go on about al quaeda etc... they are mocking themselves. To think that 9/11 could have been pulled off single handedly would be insane, so therefore not believing in a conspiracy is idiotic. You need to be more specific. I se a plethora of different people gaining from this, I see many, many inconsistancies being palmed off as normal, anomalies being treated as normal occurances and individuals such as myself questioning elementry questions and being called idiots. Look at the link a few posts above that technology seems quite independant, looks like it may be a while before they can make it look less like a time machine from an 80's movie but it is indepedant of road sensors etc which is better.
