I have seached quite a few posts about the availability of mixing boards and the Videonics MX-1 PRO DV keeps coming up, we are only looking for a basic mixing board with a couple of slides to fade music and a black fader. i have used these before in the past and they are a $100 type item. does anyone know if these simple 'old school' types are still avalable?all our editing is done on the camera. check the middle ring! and the cutaway cable. the reason for the metal cable is the extra force on the 3 ring due to the different dimentions of the middle ring. why?? edit: oops didn't read bills reply before posting! I would say that 90% of set 400s are in strong containers! ted strong does not use the 3 ring as invented by bill booth and therefore this results in extra force on the cutaway cable. so much so that they had to change to the steel wire verion. plenty of people have rotating malfunctions on very highly loaded canopies without any problems. do you hear of hard cutaways on well maintained vector2's, sigmas, next, PDF etc.... if you use new technology it should be used in new technology! how about turbulance injuries from underloaded canopies? x braced tandem canopies will be safer in those windy conditions! you dont have to do a 270aproach because you are on a x brace you just get a much better performing wing that penetrates more and is less succeptable to collapse!! I used to work at nzone and the veiws are absolutely awesome but...... you will only get on a load if it is not too busy, the first jumps costs $80 then $40 after that. (most nz DZ's are $35 per jump. from december to march there is no fun jumping allowed as it is too busy with tandems!!! if you are in the area i suggest NZ skydive glenorchy(even though i am owed $2500 from the owner for tandems i did there in february and march) that staff are nice and they have a porter. even better again is fox glacier. there is a thread on nz jumping from a week or two ago look it up! Hi all, I have jus arrived in Tanzania at my new dropzone in Moshi. we did have a guy that was going to do our reserve repacs etc. but turned out to be a dodgy charecter!(stole work mates camera etc an bailed!!??) I will need to undergo a course to allow me to do the repacks. maybe south africa??? does anyone here know of a rigger that is qualifed to do such courses? my company will send me there and pay for it. we need it done asap. any help would be greatly appreciated. what rubbish! vans are not high quality skate shoes they sold out when tony hawk left and made Adio. skateboarding has far more impact to the soles of the feet than running does so therfore high quality skate shoes requre a very high level of support. try on a pair of siginature skate shoes particularly from a street skater and you will find more support and durability than any running shoe ever made. the tricks i street skating hammer the toe of the shoes as soes swooping . good shoes are reinforced on the to with rubber or similar.
