Actually. The mousy clicky operating system WAS developed by Xerox and they tried to sell it to IBM and they didn't want it Apple purchased it and developed the macintosh. I read a book called 'New Zealands lost oilfields' It was about the surveying of the ocean just south of Stewart island. The deal wen't bad between the N.Z. govornment and the U.S. company that was contracted to prospect, through kilometres of ocean and rock they only drilled 8 holes and in 3 they found gushers of the finest crude you can get, 1 was pure natural gas and the others were solid rock. It all makes sense because the area I come from in the south of the South island of N.Z. is protected as a world heratage area as the flora and some fauna(no native mammals exept bats) is the same as the jurassic period and has remained out of the ocean since that time. the seabed is perfect for it there. I cant remember the authors name though. a very good conditioned vector 2 with the correct sized canopies and serviced consumables(BOC,Velcro etc.) is o.k. for freefly but these are few and far between. the company formaly known as the relative workshop does not recommend it! I started with a falcon 170 and a maveric 200 and worked my way through vengence 170 stiletto 135 crossfire 120 and down to a crossfire 109. all on the same slope. when i was on the bigger stuff the winds were light and the smaller stuff the winds were stronger. So it really depends on you skill level, the hill you are flying, the wind speed and your confidence. good accuracy really helps with ground launching so experience with straight approaches and 90's is reccomended although i know of groundlaunchers with no skydiving or paragliding experience at all. you can practice on the flat ground kiting your canopy with forward and reverse launches and find a nice gentle slope to get the hang of actually trying to launch. but don't attempt any significant flights without some sort of training or advice from experienced people. this sounds frustrating but shit man i saw my mate bend himself because he was a bit too keen and it was not a fun experience! Vortexii are amaxing containers for thier price. I have had one and friends still have them and we all love them. The only thing I do not like about them is the risers are not as well covered on the shoulders as other rigs as the covers themselves are much shorter. and my friends vortex ii was built custom for him with a hurricane and decellerator reserve. the rig was so tight when packed it was giving him a hesitation. this was only when he first got it and now that he has down sized it is perfect. they always updte thier features to keep up with the jonses so very freefly safe. hope this helps.
