Indusrial hemp is constantly monitered to ensure the THC levels are low. Though hemp grown to make rope etc, would have been predominantly male plants, the industrial hemp grown today has been developed specifically to have less THC due to modern narcotics laws, and thier limitations on the industry. Back before prohibition however, this would not have been an issue. By no means would the first few presidents have been smoking skunk weed, the cannibis they were growing and most likely smoking would have had a higher THC content than the industrial hemp grown today. that would be true if you left all the male plant in, cannabis sativa is cannabis sativa, isolate the females and you will have a higher rate of THC. Im sure (due to the size of the industry) they knew this at the time, you think Henry Ford didn't experiment with these types of things. They would have played with 'cannabis indica' too, had breeding programs. Long, strong fibres were not the only use for cannabis. alohol was prohibited before hemp was, prohibition didn't work, gangsters made millions and the prohibition on alcohol was lifted. why was the prohibiton not lifted on hemp?
