  1. Mike, Jody said she may start teaching up in Ohio. She's going to help with anything she can find. She thought my signing at the end of the tape I sent her and the kids was right on, that was when I said I'm a sign language idiot!!!!!! Thanks Brother! Blues, J.E> James 4:8
  2. Billy & Crew, Hey guys, thanks. My problem is that I travel and have a very hard time setting an evening schedule to attend a class. Ozark Community College has adult education and offers a basic and advanced class. I hate to attempt to attend when I know I will miss several of the classes. I was hoping for some type of video that would allow me to work at home and then attend. I have the alphabet down (get rusty when I don't practice) however, I know that only Idiots as myself spell words out. I'll check all sources you guys have given me and still hope for additional info. I thank you all very much for your help and input. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  3. Chris is the best at explaining the aircraft spotting and Quade gave a great example of the "cone". Think of spotting in the context of ground speed and time. Upperwinds effect the ground speed of the aircraft which effects the time you have available in the "cone" to exit the aircraft. More detail if requested Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  4. Give Archway a call or Quantum Leap. Depends which direction you want to drive. Both locations are top notch. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  5. Good Day to all! Flyangle2 was so kind to refer me to you all. I've purchased the book "The Joy of Signing" by Lottie L. Riekehof and am struggling through it. Mary suggested a cd or video that you may know of. If you have information that would help me please PM me or post back. Thank you for you help! Blues, J.E. PS. Why did you not list us guys with "mental disabilities" on your form?????? LOL We're skydivers, we all are a little mentally disabled!!!!!! James 4:8
  6. Troll???? Or just watching too many cartoons where the canopy comes flying out and pulls them away??? Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  7. Chris, What in the heck are you doing?????? Speaking from a point of knowledge and experience like that. Man, how can they argue??????? There went all the rants and raves......................... Thanks Bro. Blues, J.E. ATP / D17128 and better looking than you too!!!!!!! James 4:8
  8. "Angel", "Trust but verify". A great idea also is to have them correct the answer and intial the correction. This will not stop a lawyer from filing however, it makes it much more difficult to claim you have not "met the industry standards for training". Sent you a PM. Thank you... Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  9. Just purchased a new printer with cd/dvd printer adapters. I'll let you know how it works. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  10. Mjosparky, Hey, are you going to answer them or admit to them????? LOL..... Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  11. Lou, Great point. DZ's are down more often due to WX than any president's trip. Be it republican or democrat. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  12. Bill, The "thought process" is that if you recognize the "entry" you can avoid it. LOL. Reminds me of the first hammerhead I did. Blew it, ended up on by back in and inverted spin. Friend with me thought it was great until he looked at my face. Later he asked if I'd done one of those before, my response, "no, but I've read about them"! LOL Remember my saying "Experience is something you gain two seconds after you NEED it!" Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  13. Chris, Barry went to Fiesty's last week.( Bob is now a DPRE) I did not work with him, he's just a good friend. We'll he used to be until he spent nine days 20 miles away and did not call me! You two should meet! (Truth is, Barry is a young punk that can fly rings around both of us and if I did not like him so much I'd break his legs to slow him down, but don't tell him. He thinks I'm a "nice old guy"!!!!) Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  14. After spending a week on his knees, ( not praying ) SkySlut is now one of "those guys"! A Certified Senior RIGGER!!! Congrats Bro. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  15. Back to Spoon's question. More training needed? Part 135 required? Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  16. Billy, Correct my friend on the spin training however, stall recognition, and recovery are still required. As you know that is the prelude to a spin. Stalls can be agravated into a spin by cross controlling the aircraft, which is common with anyone on the step, or CG. With students in the back the CG can/will have an effect. As far a JM'ing. I tell all students that I will not die for them. I will move everyone to the door and out that I can however, "if you see my tennis shoes going out the door, follow them, quickly.". Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  17. "That's my point Ron, Skydiving aircraft hav an atrocious accident rate. Tom" *** Tom, Where do you find the statistics to support your statement? Where do you find the comparison of, Military, Commercial, Private, operations? We need to make sure when we make a statement such as yours that we can verify with fact. Thanks for the info. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  18. Pullhigh, Most lifeflight operations are 135. There are only a couple companies in the US that provide the service to hospitals. There are a few hospitals that own their own aircraft and contract the pilots from these companies. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  19. I use the Sony RDR-GX7 also and you will pay more for it than other brands however, you can also utilize more formats. You can burn all but +R. If they need +R I use the PC to burn. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  20. After the fact. No equipment at the DZ for DVD. I mail the completed project the following week. $25.00 however, you must confirm the format their DVD player uses and that It's not an older model. James 4:8
  21. Okay, so what is your point. All I see here are safety items. The public address system I thought was great. Most aircraft with seperated cockpits have one through the communications system. In a 182 it's called Yelling! As Derek stated, most DZ's would probably not comply, as some do not comply with part 91 at this time. Derek, on the 100 hours, that's my point. If they are doing part 91 as required they would probably do 135. If not, then I'd know where not to jump. Just like you as a pilot I am critical of the guy driving. He can kill me in the first few minutes quicker than my AFF student. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  22. Listen to Mjosparky. He's been around and knows of what he speaks. 3300 jumps, SL/JM, IAD/JM ( when we had real jumpmasters), SLI-IADI-TandemI-AFFI, Rigger. SIM and IRM are in my bag and my car. Everyone who works towards their "A" should own a SIM. With the ISP incorporated you can keep your instructor/coach honest by studying ahead and knowing what you are supposed to know or at least be taught. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  23. Dave, Some good points however, ( my far is 2003) you simply have to list those people such as director of maintenance. The same A&P or AI you use now can become your DOM. No argument here Dave on the additional paperwork and the accountability would increase. IMOH that is a good thing. See you later! Blues, J.E. James 4:8
