Priemer - Sony Dru510A -Sonic Problems
sducoach replied to sducoach's topic in Photography and Video
Wow, I'm looking at 15 hrs. to export an 18 minute video. What's going to happen with my 59 minute year end? Any one HELP!!!!! Blues, J.E. James 4:8 -
Short answer. Fords and Chevys. Try them first. I do not like hip rings due to the fact that they allow your leg straps to move around too much in the aircraft. You have to "reset" their location when you get up or, put a bung straps on the back. (which I always snap when I see them) Try them first. Blues, J.E. James 4:8

Bill, My point exactly. The reading on a ProTrac are not accurate. In fact there's this little redheaded guy up in Sullivan who learned real quick how to delete those jumps!!! Hey, sorry about your accident. Blues, J.E. James 4:8

sducoach replied to sducoach's topic in Photography and Video
Running Premier 6.0 ( Pro is in the box waiting for new PC) installed a Sony DRU 510A with Sonic MyDVD and cannot import or burn Premier projects. Any help or alternate DVD software you are using, please let me know or PM me. Thanks and Blues, J.E. James 4:8 -

Donovan, Scurmpot missed the mark here. It was not the cypres or two canopies out that is/was the problem. Going low is/was the problem. Blues, J.E. James 4:8

Posted Pics of "Grandma" in one and "Grandpa" in the other. Quality is poor as I'm learning how to post the pics. Thank you all so very much. It's hard to explain how proud I am right now. Blues and Blessings, J.E. James 4:8

Dave, Many riggers will not pack Reflex or Racer as they believe they are more difficult or they just can't do it. Just like anything else it takes some experience. I just closed two Reflex containers last night. I do not like the old ones (fords and chevys) but they are an okay rig. In fact they are pretty easy to repack just like the Racer if you know what to do. Blues, J.E. James 4:8

Thanks for the reply! Who are you working with?? Blues, J.E. James 4:8

Bigun, Before Dad passed on we put three generations up. Looks like we're going to do it AGAIN! Grandma is SO much better looking than I am! Thanks, J.E. James 4:8

At the risk of setting Billy or Quade off on a left wing swing, God Blessed our family on Monday the 22nd with an 8 lb. 12.5 oz. FIRST Grandson. Jaden Eric, ( yes world, look out, another skydiving J.E., that makes five of us.). Mom and Dad doing great. What a Christmas. Blues and Blessings to all. J.E. James 4:8

Mr. S, Would you be able to set the original post date in the column along with last post date? Some are dragged back into existence after a good deal of time with nothing new. Thanks for the consideration. Blues, J.E. James 4:8

Eric, Very interesting. Please help me out here. Don't most riggers (are you one?) read the manuals first? Please explain in detail your position on round reserves and how you evaluate a persons ability to do a PLF. How many round pack jobs do you have? Just curious, always trying to look at things from others perspective, thanks. Blues, J.E. James 4:8

Any injury or "thing" such as a cast that interferes with your procedures or EP's is a grounder. I broke a couple small bones just above my right wrist at a big way. After six jumps I sat down as it began to cause PC deployment problems. After x-rays confirming the break I had a splint put on to avoid the problems with a cast. I laid off two weeks then returned. I had the splint, a foam wrap, and gloves on, no problem with practice pulls on the ground however, after taking an AFF Cat C out I was unable to pull with the right hand only. I had to push with the left and pull with the right in order to deploy the main. Needless to say I sat down again for several weeks. The point is, even when we think we are "good to go" we may be wrong. Listen to the experienced Instructors and your S&TA. Blues, J.E. James 4:8

New Bonehead - shrunk a bit due to low temp?
sducoach replied to vonSanta's topic in Gear and Rigging
The first few times (20-30) wear it to altitude. Bonehead used to rec. this. I don't know if they still do. The foam will take a better "set". When new the foam will expand at altitude enough to seem tight. Blues, J.E. James 4:8 -
Not true. Failing to convict is one thing, not guilty is another. Man of integrity? Think not. James 4:8

Don't worry, some people are just too sensitive..... I think any Instructor with 2000 jumps has seen his share of "idiots" too. Blues, J.E. James 4:8

Student gear - BOC or sping loaded pilot chute?
sducoach replied to wayne's topic in Safety and Training
Derek, Either way they still are going around the jumper. One just starts with a little more bridle hanging out. As far as springloaded PC's sticking in the burble, on AFF it's more common due to the enlarged burble from two or three skydivers. Great body position will cause it on a solo skydive however they tend to clear pretty quickly. The only problem I've found with BOC is due to poorly fitting gear causing students to miss or grab my altimeter however, this usually shows during ground preps or PPCT's. Blues, J.E. James 4:8 -
Chuck hit this one on the nose. ALWAYS dress UP!! Meaning, when in doubt, more drag! Level 3 or Cat C release is by mutual agreement between the I's. It was probably evident that the fall rate was a problem and a release was not called for but, WE were not there, were we? Also, a rig that is too large can aggravate heading control problems by shifting around on the back of the student. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
