  1. "Stand" : to be at rest in or assume an upright position. "Up" : in or to a higher position or level. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  2. Not THE Demo Brawn???? Or was the Deno................... You are going to be just fine. If you are trying that much to "research" and listen to you JM. Enjoy! Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  3. Come on Guys....... He's only got 21 jumps, give him an "A" for "attempt". I'm more concerned about his "Instructor"!! Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  4. There is only one answer. Yes. EP are developed through mental programming and muscle memory. Why take a chance. If you are too slow and find the canopy over your head before you pull you were counting on the mechanical devise anyway. Look, reach, look, pull, pull, arch, arch, check canopy. I am amazed at how many malfunctions all these "experienced" skydivers have. Might the problem lay elsewhere? James 4:8
  5. Na, not trouble "parsing" Quade. Now you are falling back on your "left coast" camouflage. Stick with the facts brother. Good point was, who is qualified? How about France, Germany, Canada? Why don't you ask the soldiers that work with them??? Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  6. Adult Film Actor??? Joe, I've seen your audition. Find a real job............ Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  7. Even with Chuck as his son. Man the tree doesn't fall to far from the nut does it. Congrats Buddy and you two Chuck! Be Proud!!! Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  8. Buzz, As an ATP CFIMEII and a skydiver I am very critical of both the aircraft AND the pilot. I for one am not affraid to correct a pilot or mechanic when It's my students and me getting in. This should be good........... Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  9. Goose491, I hope the letter is from another and not you as it is a perfect example of JW using Scripture justification in partial application to front their efforts. You see the greatest lie contains much truth. Luke 15: 17-18 Is the parable of the lost son. It's a story about his FATHER's willingness and joy in excepting him back, not his coming to his senses. You don't return to an "Organization" you return to God. Luke 15:1. Is the parable of the Lost Sheep. It's Jesus Christ's story telling to go seek the lost. NOT Disfellowship them. Matthew 9:12-13. Again go seek the lost. It's not the healthy who need a doctor. Luke 19:8-10. Zaccheaus sat in a tree. Jesus Christ called him down. Again Jesus sought him. Ezra 7:10. Ezra wrote his story showing how God is the power behind earthly events. Even moving pagan kings according to his purpost. 7:10 only tells that he devoted himself to study and observance of the Law of the Lord. Which is now Jesus Christ. Luke 8:43-48. Again, Jesus SOUGHT OUT the sinner. "Who touched me?". NOT Disfellowship! Isaiah 32:2, The Kingdom of Righteousness. It says, "Each man WILL be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm." We WILL be shelters and refuge for the lost. Not disfellowship. 1 John 2:19. Is a warning against the Anti-Christ. It says, "They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us." The unsaved who did not believe truly in Jesus Christ. NOT the believers!!! James 3:17. "But the wisdon that comes from Heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere." Sound like disfellowship??? 1 Corinthians 5:1-5. Talks about sexual immorality not disbelief! 1 Corinthians 5:3-5 tells the story. "Even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. And I have already passed judgment on the one who did this, just as if I were present. When you are assembled in the name of our Lord jesus and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord jesus is present, hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord." Sound like disfellowship? 2 John 10:10. There is no 2 John 10:10 but, the book of 2 John is a warning about many deceivers and fall to false teaching. It tells you to not let these false teachers into your house. Take the advise. James 1: 27. "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." We ALL are sinners don't even let a JW tell you that they are remaining "undefiled in this unclean world". 2 Chronicals 19:6 God told them to consider carefully what you do when you judge. Does it sound like they are seeking sinners out and loving the believers? 1 Corinthians 5: 11-13. "But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat. What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. Expel the wicked man from among you." NON-BELIEVERS NOT BELIEVERS who has slipped!!!!! Hebrews 12:11. God's discipline not ours! Try verses 5 through 7. "And you have forgotten that word of encourgement that addresses you as sons: My son, do not make light of the Lord's descipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you. because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son. Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?" Disfellowship is not a protection it's a punishment applied by sinful men. The "Witnesses" do not follow the teachings of Jesus to a "T". As sinners they are not capable. A "disfellowshipped member" cannot be saved. They already are if they truly believe in Jesus Christ regardless of what the "Witness's" do to try and force their doctrine upon them. READ the WHOLE BOOK!!!!! Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  10. Right there with ya bro............. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  11. Quade, My point. However, limits are limits. So how do you justify the "extra exposure" for a few bucks??? Rhetorical question...... Yeah, real interesting stuff... Blues Brother, J.E. James 4:8
  12. Tom - Hook, The DOL and IRS can and have delt with IC status several times however, not in skydiving that I or my beautiful Para-Legal Wife who works with Workman Comp issues can find. 1099 the instructors and you can still be considered an employee if you are asked to, provided for, expected to............ Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  13. Quade, Take a deep west coast breath and give the man some credit. I had the chance to meet GW in Springfield MO. and get a picture with him after we brought the American Flag into the airport for his arrival. This is a good man, a politician yes, but a good man. Next thing you'll come up with is a phony turkey, right? God Bless Him for his consideration of the Fighting Forces. Blues GW! J.E. James 4:8
  14. Depends upon what kind of friend you are.......... Never mind, I see you're a lawyer......................... James 4:8
  15. Not me but.......... Cross country and one guy is not going to make it back. He decided early to look for his alternate and sees this "pic-nic" going on in what looks like a park with the big green shelter set up. Now he thinks, " let's be cool and swoop the pic-nic!" As he comes out of his turn it hits him, no pic-nic...... funeral! Ever try to sneak out of a funeral service with a canopy over your head???? Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  16. Weegegirl, Gary is our Regional Director here in the MidWest and we ALL can learn a lot from him. I believe you missed the point. I just hope many newer skydivers don't. Know when to say no! Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  17. Gary, Until I saw your new picture I thought you were "cool", now I have to reconsider................. Serious. I don't think the point is how or where you stow your lines, it's if you listen to experience or ignore it to be "cool". I believe that's Gary's point. Products will improve through the "problems" that consumers experience. We hope the problems are not fatal however, sometimes they are. Frognog's post can be summed up as "risk management". The question is how well do you manage your risk exposure and do you go beyond your "normal" comfort level just to avoid criticism or being teased? Simple things can kill. Being "cool" is knowing when to say no. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  18. Why are some of the "working limits" higher than the "fun limits"? I guess if you are making more money you can afford the injury????? I do not set a wind limit and say when it hits 19 I'll quit, I look at canopies and evaluate my experience and comfort level under the conditions. Gust are the greatest factor for grounding myself. You just don't know when you'll run into one, do you? Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  19. Tom, I used to argue this point with Hook however, after watching video's of several AFFICC's and one in this area I must agree that standard haved slipped. However, that's the course director and evaluators decision to accept. Course standards are "minimums" to pass.Glenn Bangs was my Course Director and he was NOT an easy CD. In fact there was one busted dive that was challenged and denied. During my last coach course I gave two unsats on eval dives and had two "incomplete" in the course out of six. DZO's want cheap labor but Course Directors give the rating. Sounds like a good thread to start. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  20. Bill, You and Nightjumps are right on the money however, at 16 jumps very very few students could accomplish your list. Just say no................ Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  21. Told you "WinDsor" the answer was two.................. James 4:8
  22. You hit the nail on the head! Only thing is my wife cost me four goats and several Franklins!!!!! Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  23. Dave, A year ago last July 4th we received a waiver from RWS to do a demo into the biggest fireworks display in SW Missouri. This occured one week prior to the FAA moving tandems off of the dual canopy waiver. At this point I would still contact and work with RWS along with USPA and the local FISDO and indicate the tandem on the 7711. Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  24. I was going to take up knitting but I've sewn my fingers together doing a canopy patch............... Derek taught me everything I know!!!!! Blues, J.E. James 4:8
  25. Okay Chuck, what's the tip? The biggest trouble I have is getting the darn booties off. At my age it's harder to bend that way.... Blues, J.E. James 4:8
