Frank....you SOOOOO know that I will be asking for a live presentation in Kamloops this weekend!!!!!!
-
Wow Frank, that is an aweful lot of money to pay for a jump. You know you are a skydive addict when.....
-
Hey Matt. I bought my Sabre at about 40 jumps and was only bit on the first jump. I am known, however, to pack carefully and neatly but the Sabre isn't a difficult canopy to pack properly. I am happy with mine, nice soft, on-heading openings. Have your friend ask a rigger to show him/her how to pack it properly and with a snivel and they will be just fine!

I couldn't agree more Sis. What a waste of natural resource. We are feeling the US energy crisis here in Alberta too. We are the highest producer of Oil and Gas in Canada and our prices have sky rocketed as well because we are exporting our resources to the US. The gas analysts are predicting our prices to be up to almost $1 per litre (approx. 3.8 litres in a gallon) from 45 cents a litre last summer!!! YIKES! Tee

Awesome colors Pammi! That canopy will look soooo amazing, especially on a nice sunny day!
-
Congrats onthe milestone!!!!!

Hey Skreamer. Just remember, no jump is a bad jump as long as you learned something from it.

Congratulations Pammi, and Happy Birthday!!! The Mirage is one NICE rig! But being a girl, I need to know the colors. Gotta love being spoiled rotten. Tee

Consensus on relaxing students/TDM passengers?
Tee replied to cameramonkey's topic in Safety and Training
Well said! I didn't mind the teasing at all when I first started. My instructors were crazy but they also had a serious side too when it can to teaching, so I had total faith in them. It's the fun and teasing that makes the students feel like they are part of the "family" and keeps them coming back to your dz. -
As I told SpeedRacer...When I first heard of Mr. Tubesteak I ran off to get a job there, then I found out their business was hot dogs Tee

Let's just say that we learned never to trust a pilot and his GPS while flying through "industrial haze". lol Take off your booties, and avoid the "steaming piles" upon landing. Tee

Sleeps 4....parties 30!

Hey Frank....you finally got to do it!!! Hope it went well.

LOL LOL I'll have to remember that one....too funny!! I do agree with everyone else here that finding all three handles should be second nature to you. You should practice their location over and over so many times that you don't even have to think about where they are. When I changed my rig from a leg pull to a BOC, I swear I practiced pulled 100 times, and when it was time to actually pull, I didn't even think about it, my hand just went to the bottom. Tee

At least you know that you have the proper emergency procedures drilled into your head, even if you are spooked. That has got to make you feel good.

Hey Andrew, that is too funny...darn pilots and their GPS...never trust em! I have missed you the last few times that I was in Westlock....are you back at Eden North now?? I will definitely see you in Kamloops. Iflyme and I will be partying it up so you will get to meet him too!!! I get to meet Iflyme! I get to meet Iflyme!! Tee

Is this the Andrew that I was jumping with in Westlock this winter????
-
Welcome to the skies Wes!!! You will never look at a sky the same again....EVER...you will have a perspective on it that only skydivers & pilots can have.

Believe it or not, this seems like such a basic dive, but you can learn a TON for belly flying RW work. Simply play pat-a-cake with your partner. Everytime you move your hands out or across to clap, you also have to compensate with your legs so you don't backslide or turn etc. Even try clapping hands by having one of your hands going up and the other down at the same time and keep yourself stable. One hand wants to fly up with the wind and the other you have to push really hard down. Great lessons to be learned in this dive.....and hilarious to watch your partner too!

Woohoo!!! Froggie is already thinking about her rig....exciting isn't it???

Hey Krishan. I jump a Sabre as well and was only bit on my first jump with it. Ever since then, I have been rolling the nose about 4 times and tucking the outside 4 cells into the centre cell (not far, just enough to keep it in there) as well as rolling the heck out of the tail. I have nice soft opening in about 800 feet from deployment. Hope it helps! Tee

HA HA...probably! At first I was only worried about getting the booties off BEFORE landing as you never know what you may step in. After landing and being surrounded by cows, my worries quickly turned to whether there was a bull around and if he would know the difference between Red and Pink!

Our DZO chooses the beer lines, not for safety issues, but to get free beer. Tee
