  1. ROFLMAO!!! You have to wonder what goes through some of the students heads sometimes. I witnessed a good one this year. You know how students are taught that on a windy day, if your chute is catching air to grab one toggle and pull it in?? Well, this girl was coming in for final, and when she was told (over the radio) to flare, she pulled both toggles down, then let go of one and started pulling the other one in while she was still about 5 feet in the air! Actually at the time, it wasn't funny because her canopy did a nice dive and landed her on her face....but she got up after about 5 minutes and said "oops!". Tee

But...we managed to escape unscathed and had an AWESOME jump! Gotta love that minute and a half of freefall hey Iflyme! Except for the fact that my Dytter never went off until I was walking back to the packing area...go figure! I have jumped from several C-182, some C-206s and Twin Otters, Skyvan, King Air, F-27, Caravan and a hot air balloon. Tee
  3. Wow. You certainly have an eye for capturing the whole feeling in the pic! I am happy if I don't cut off the heads in mine. Tee
  4. I don't even do a turn, I hang on BOTH risers while coming in straight, then let up and keep up the speed with the sashays...it works great! Tee
  5. Hey Frank! Did this passion stem from the numerous cases to be bought when you first started jumping??? There may be a lesson to be learned here! Tee
  6. I'm not a "swooper" per say, but I do get a nice "surf" on landing. All I do is hang on the front risers a bit to get some speed up, let up and do some sashays to keep the speed going. With my weight under my canopy, I don't flare at the "oh $hit" stage, I wait until the "OH F$%#" pull the toggles down half down, that planes me out for a good 15-20 foot surf, then have the last bit of toggle for the final lift at the end.
  7. ROFLMAO!!!!!!! WAAAY too funny! Tee

    Blast!

Hi Ninja. I just moved to Calgary from Edmonton last month. My home dz is in Calgary, but there is such a great group of ppl in Westlock, I still come by for a visit now and then. :-) In the winter, I drive up on the weekends and stay with family and go out to catch a few jumps. As long as it is warmer than -10 celcius, they are jumping. Yes, it is the only operating dz in the winter in Alberta.
  9. Hey Omri. I love my full-face helmet, especially on those cold days or the days that there are some ice crystals in the air up at altitude. And, I am a fan of not showing off my free-fall cheeks (unless they are on my butt ) I would go for the Z1 or the Oxygen that have the flip up visor though. I have the Carbon Fire and even on the warm days, it tends to fog up if you don't breathe properly in it. I would hate to have to ditch the helmet on a jump some day instead of just flipping up the visor.

  18. I've met Favaks, 174fps, Iflyme, and Jason, (sorry babe, I can't remember your handle). And I do believe I may have met Fruce in Lost Prairie and didn't know it at the time. Fruce, if you are out there....were you the one who put "fruce.com" stickers on my butt as well as two other girls and video'd it??? If it was your were slick because none of us even realized you had your hand on our bottoms!!! Tee Edited by Tee on 8/2/01 03:58 PM.

  22. Hey Viking...are you just trying to win at "who's baby is it" in the pub??? I jump a Talon container, Sabre 135 main and a PD 143 reserve. Tee
  23. Hi Rob. That happens to be my home dz. It was about 5:00 in the evening, still a few hours before the sun went down, so not to worry about the "night jump" thing. They are still investigating, but it so far it looks like the student was under a fully functional parachute, was following the radio instructions down then had a heart attack and with the toggle in his hand, was clutching his chest and 360'd himself into the ground. They still aren't sure if he died from the heart attack or from the landing. He was only 34 years old. My heart goes out to all his friends and family. Tee
  24. I still sit on the fence when it comes to the issue of jumping with an RSL. I have one on my rig, but take it off for big ways and on windy days. My big reason for jumping with one is because if I have a mal that slows me down enough for my cypress not to fire, if I end up low, I want my reserve out right away, every second counts right?.?.? But then there are the cases if your main is caught etc and you need time between the main cutaway and the reserve, it pays to NOT have an RSL. But all that said, I guess I prefer the more material above my head the better!
  25. Way to go Chuck! Don't forget about us little people now that you've gotten all famous on us. Tee
