NO! cuz then it wouldnt be life... it would be "super happy crazy fun time". but i too would like to think that we should. feeling this applies to this thread... i have been to germay, switzerland, austraila, venezuela, and for 5min france. I had wonderful times in all these places but 2 were WAY up there on the bad experience list. My most recent trip (returned yesterday) i actually defended comments some tourists were making about the locals b/c I felt them racist/xenophobic. but then after 10 days there I had to do my best to not feel the same as those opinions I was just arguing w/ days before. some of us can, from experience, hold opinions that are not pleasant. but thats what it is: opinion. I will not try to get anyone to belive what i do is true, its just how I feel. and I hope that if I encounter those people again, I can w/ a good heart, attempt to not let the past influence the future... I "prefer" as much as I can get (cloud base). but Ive done 5 way and 4 way speed stars from 4 and 5 respactivley. and took a 2 way off at 2.5.... ok so Im just a little nuts. well its like a helicopter jump w/o all the wind and noise... or jumping out of a swing as a kid (sorry best similie I could come up w/) canopy opening has to do w/ your delay/altitude. you could percivably get so low that a skydiving rig's main wouldnt open in time for a safe landing, but not ever tested what that would be. 3500' is fine for me, canopy opened fine. rantoul will have plenty of em, give it a shot... its great.... similar to a base jump, w/o the obsticles! hey.... I quit a GREAT job (great pay, benifits, vacatioon), where I had a lot of freedoms to do as I pleased, to make me more sane. It was high pressure, high stress, and no matter how good I did my superiors always said I could do better. So, after 9 years w/ them I gave them the finger. and my wife couldnt be happier. money has been tight, and its been an issue, cuz now im working for myself also, but lacking steady work. But things are looking up for us... IMHO... is worth sacrifice to be happy! I watched my parents struggle through 21 years of misery going to college, getting jobs they hated, and eventually hating each other.... I refuse to follow that road. I wish I could skydive and make enough money to pay the bills.... maybe one day hope this helps... good luck.... I can and will get better! I have heard both: "skydivers and whuffos dont mix" and "skydivers never lose their girlfriend (or significant other) they just lose their turn" but my now wife bought me my FJC and ive been hooked ever since, so she knows its really partially her fault. she has done a tandem, but not really interested. but she comes out and every one at the DZ loves her and askes where she is when shes not there (mainly cuz she keeps me in line). weve been together for almost 10 years, and no sign of my skydiving gettin in the way.... but my car... thats a differnt story Goddam dirty hippies piss me off! ~GFD "What do I get for closing your rig?" ~ me "Anything you want." ~ female skydiver Mohoso Rodriguez #865
