What the posts are saying here is that the security steps we see are nothing but window dressing. precisely! Its basic economics. Just because you throw a massive amount of dollars at a problem, dont mean you'll actually do any good. Ive accidentally carried tweezers, nail clippers, pocket knives, and other "banned" items. My group at work probably travels close to 1 million miles per year. Were constantly seeing the inadaqacies of the TSA. They're underpaid, understaffed, undertrained, and uncaring. Ive seen em glance so quickly at an ID there's NO way they even read the name, much less confirmed it matched the boarding pass. This reaction to this potential threat/plan will only inconvienience travelers. If anyone thinks that terrorists didnt realize that even if this worked, they wouldnt have to have a new plan, are foolish. Theyre already working on a way to get around the new restrictions.
