  1. I just looked at my email account where I get to see the "TF" emails. Team Funnel is a loose group of skydivers that believe that no one should have to jump alone. We try to spread good cheer and give free coaching to newbie jumpers as they come through the program at Skydive Chicago. Well, one of the original members, Jeremy, lost his battle with cancer after two years. I just saw the email tonight. Jeremy was a cool guy in that he never lost his love of the air and wanted to know more than the average joe about skydiving. His illness kept him from the DZ a lot in the past years but he always came back when he could. He even was in "remission" and visited during our Winter Expo last year talking about trying to get in the air again. It is a reminder that there are no guarantees in life. You had better live life to the fullest now and love your family and friends. Never be afraid to say what you think to them because quite litteraly they could be gone tomorrow. Blue Skies Jeremy TF #9. See yah when I get there. I might need a repack from yah by then. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  2. Ok...a little break. We're sumwhat special. Is that better?
  3. Actually we're not. You just might think we're special. I don't think we are that different.
  4. It happens to everyone.... [american pie voice] ...and this one time, flying on a world record....I had Kate Cooper sitting in my right seat all week, and we told stories, and I was all gushy and stuff.... The end.
  5. You and I are on the same side man. (peace emoticon) We both want a safe, secure transportation system. As someone who lives this system every day I can tell you that this change really is for the better and does not decrease safety. I think that fact that 1,000s of airport workers passing onto property without ever being screened while pilots have to be searched is a much greater hazard to flying safety than this little change. But that's my two cents as you've seen.
  6. I'm glad they gave you the respect you deserve. Unfortunately they never gave that respect to the flight crews. Said it was "good" for the public to see us submitting to the BS strip searches. Yah, we're still bitter about it. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  7. Not steppin in front. Just shouting out from the peanut gallery. Y'all continue. I'm just watching the show.
  8. Dude.....psssst....you're about to get your eyes scratched out. Just thought I'd give you a heads up. edit: DOH...too late.
  9. Quade....we ARE paying for the security. We've had to lower the price of our tickets to keep people flying because the increased taxes have detered people from going some place. And in turn we've cut wages all around. Except for the higher ups. Anyway..... This is how it should have been all along man. Not this "beeeeep" and then get your shit jumped ghestapo crap. Let me walk back through and find the offending item. No subsequent beep and off you go. Beep again and you get the "wand". I don't see where you get a free pass if you don't look threatening. Just isn't gonna happen that way. And you didn't comment on my "parachute failed to open" comment. This article just might have gotten some of it wrong. Not that I'm bagging on the press because I know how much you love them.
  10. Dude.....remember the phrase "parachute failed to open". Just might be this article didn't tell it like it REALLY is. Right Quade?
  11. Dude, quit spazzing. I know I've forgotten a little change in my pockets and said off the detector. Let me go back trough quick...remove it in plain sight and try again. Doesn't go off, no big deal. Sheeesh. They've got them so turned up on the detectors that the metal spiral holding my mini-logbook together set it off at some stations. [Frau Farbisina] SEND IN THE PROBE! Sheeesh...just let me remove the damn thing and try again without the extra probing thank you. [OB1] This isn't the perfect world you're looking for Quade....move along. LOL...
  12. Opening yourself up and pouring your heart out to someone is an act of trust and faith. (edit to add: and really, really scary) And sometimes, it is not always reciprocated or cherished. But at least you know YOU have a heart and still have feelings. I say, lick your wounds for awhile. Then, when you think it's right...go after the exact same goals you stated there and have another "real" relationship. It can happen...if you aim for it. 13. Hell...just have them take THEIR tops off! Works great!
  14. You can have fun with anyone. It's how you argue that will determine if you'll make it. Find someone that you can argue with and still like later. That's the one you keep.
  15. There are just more guys on this site so you are going to hear more stories about guys breaking up with girls. Nuthin personal.
  16. That would be 2 cases if it's the second time....
  17. LOL...that's what I just told a pilot friend of mine! We were chatting and talking about college classmates. We had one mutual one that we tried to find with google. After finding nothing I wondered what would come up if I typed my own name. Man.... I told him that we should just stop googling ourselves. He agreed. LOL.
  18. I just want you all to know if you ever come across this I did NOT write this. And it might not be safe for work as it seems it has some adult themes on there too. Man, what you find when you google your own name. Maybe NSFW CLICK ME
  19. It's hopeless. His mind is already there baking in the sun...LOL....
  20. LOL....didn't say you were...but I get that all the time from jumpers on how'd they like to mess with the psych of other passengers and crew. I actually was jumpseating one time and was asked if I had friends in the back. I had to say yes that I knew there were some skydiver friends on board. They said one was claiming to be with the NTSB and was going to write up a flight attendant. They were not too happy and I begged the CA to not have him arrested. This was before 9/11. I don't think any pleading would have helped if this happened after 9/11.
  21. [presses lips together] ...must....not......show.....grin.....must...not....show....grin...
  22. No....but even just mocking that you are going to open it will get you arrested when you arrive. Thought you (and others) might like to know that. Yes, I have had 2 people arrested off of my plane. No, it wasn't for going to an emergency exit inflight. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  23. Booooooo!!!! Ok...I did crack a grin too. Boooooo!!!!
