New Order (aka Joy Division) Ceremony: This is why events unnerve me, They find it all a different story, No concern for wheels are turning, Turn again and turn towards this time, All she asks the strength to hold me, Then again the same old story, Word will travel, oh so quickly, Travel first and lean towards this time. Oh, I'll break them all, no mercy shown, Heaven knows, it's got to be this time, Watching her, these things she said, The times she cried, Too frail to wake this time. Oh I'll break them down, no mercy shown Heaven knows, it's got to be this time, Avenues all lined with trees, Picture me and then you start watching, Watching forever, forever, Watching love grow, forever, Where did he go? Forever.

OMFG....I'm crying! Oh man....that was an awesome day. Oh shit.....my sides are gonna hurt all night. Man..Wally....that is just legendary. The DZ name was Greater Kansas City Skydiving Club at Indepedence, MO. Now defunct. Man...that was a hell of a time. And one of the greatest skydiving stories ever. There was also a bet on accuracy with my roomate Tracy joining in. Wally was the closest to the target which, again, did not clue 2-eyed Phil in. Oh man....I need a beer. Ohhhh shit..... 2-eyed Phil got his name because there was actually a "1-eyed Phil" at his same home DZ. Man, what a character.

You only need to provide O2 if you are flying above 14k above mean sea level (MSL). You have to have it available if you are cruising above 12,500 for more than 30 minutes. But people who are not used to altitude or who smoke will feel fatigued at the end of the day. Flying up and down all day I actually built a tollerance. But it is still fatiguing. who has had zero g in a jump ship?
diverdriver replied to Newbie's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Then cameth the DiverDriver: I used to do zero G's in the plane until I hurt someone's neck by putting them in the ceiling. It is not something pilots train for or do regularly. Also, on exit, you can put people dangerously close to the horizontal tail by doing a Zero G exit. It is NOT the proper way to do a raft launch. There have been people who have hit the tail of an otter doing a 0 G exit. Think twice before encouraging your pilot to do one for you. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125 -
Ummm...it did? I thought Southwest only flew 737s and ValueJet only flew DC-9s....Hmmm... news to me. What I am trying to remember here is....ValueJet had the one crash and everyone freaked. It was bad and tragic but not unheard of in the airline industry. So...there happened to be this little start up airline out of Orlando or some place south called AirTran. I think they did even have 737s. ValueJet bought them and changed their name to re-establish operations. Still using DC-9s and got Boeing 717s soon after. I will never forget "Critter 592". I've read that report several times and thought what would I do in that situation. Those pilots didn't have a chance. I also have listened to the ATC audio tapes several times. It is a chilling reminder of what can happen when these metal objects we choose to ride in fight back. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

Wally? You tell it better than anyone.

It was at the record '98 at SDC. You had a group, saw me walking around and was like "You know 2-eyed Phil! Tell them!" LOL....was funny. They were all astounded that I knew the story. Well of course I did. I was there! Man, what a classic. Yah, he went to ask you how many jumps you had and you started to say 32 hundered. But only got the "32" part out. bwahahahhahahaahaa.... And remember Wally: "Never dirt dive the jump in the plane on the way to altitude." -2eyed Phil Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

Holy Shit Wally....I love that story. I cry telling it each time. So exactly how big is that canopy you're flying Wally with 30 jumps? Stilleto 107? Bwahahhahahahhahahaha.....and he tried to teach how to pack it too! mahahhahahahahahhahaa.a........omg....can't breathe.....

Bwahahahhahahahahahaha!!!!!!!! I just fell out of my chair! OMG I haven't heard that name in a loooong time.

Read 'Valujet'. ERRRRRRRRRRR!!!...Thanks for playing. Value Jet is actually known as AirTran now NOT ATA (American Trans Air). And excuse me but United, American, and USAir have more accidents than the ONE major one for ValueJet. Don't let the press hype get to yah. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
