  1. Who said anything about being pissed? On the contrary, I'm smiling. See ---->

  3. Music was reported to be heard faintly in the background when it washed up on shore. Witnesses described the lyrics... ...You never close your eyes...anymore when I kiss...your liiiiiips!...
  4. exactly. I Missed it. was manifesting for the next (canceled) load. But he went off the side. Chris saw it. I just saw him taxi past with the left side gear facing the wrong way. it was Fixed up, and there it was next weekend though... I made sure to take a glance at the gear before i junped in... and not to be the first load of the day on it! So there was no prop damage? Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  5. Ahhh...ok. Yah, I'm just lookin for the jump plane accidents/incidents. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  6. You're refering to a jump plane right? Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  7. Well, seems I'm sorting through 4 reports now. 2 I'm sure of. Beech 99 at Greensburg, IN. King Air 90 at Skydive Long Island. 2 I'm not sure of the details so more information would be helpful. I got one report that some time in the last month there was a King Air land gear up or collapse in Alabama. And now your mention of a King Air gear up landing in the NW. If this is all true that would be FOUR gear up/collapse landings in a month and a half. What do they say about statistical clusters? Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  8. Does anyone have more information about a King Air 90 having a nose gear collapse on landing in the North East? Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  9. Does anyone have more info about a Beech 99 jump plane landing gear up or having a gear collapse in the past couple of weeks in the midwest? Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  10. Let's see, Roger Nelson was on a small cross-braced canopy and pulling a high performance landing when he was hit from above and behind by another jumper under a small cross-braced canopy which collapsed his and he died from the ensuing spiral and impact. John chose a docile 7 cell canopy and when struck causing line twists at by some estimates below 100 feet he was able to recover and walk away from the landing. I'd say John made the right choice. The canopy collisions happen anyway. The collisions didn't START happening by slower canopies. edit: Trae, I guess after re-reading your post I'm not sure if you are opposed or for people going back to more docile canopies. Is that your view that the slower canopy choice caused this collision? Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  11. John, I hardly ever read this forum and hadn't heard about this happening from the usual suspects. Dang dude I'm glad you're ok. Seems we have learned nothing in this sport. The guy still insisted that you hit him and it wasn't his fault even after witnesses on the ground told him otherwise. How many jumps and what kind of experience did this other guy have? What kind of canopy and wingloading did the other jumper have? Roger must have been looking over you. That and you chose a docile 7 cell canopy rather than a pocket rocket hanky. It definitely saved your ass imo. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  12. I doubt you can get it certified for flight with the cargo door off. And I don't think the door was wider than an otter door. However, it would fly a perfect jump run on its own if programed correctly. The DO328 is a smart plane. I flew the TP for just over a year. It's an awesome performer. And I had one single engine event in flight. It was a non-event. Drawbacks: Side exit not much bigger than what is available now. High cost of hourly operation. Certification. Two pilots required. No-demand for aircraft that large on a regular basis. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  13. So when do we get to that "high level of safety" because we sure aren't there now. "Cost-effective maintenance".... I read that as "Minimum allowable to stay legal." Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  14. Depowered. Repowered. Ops check ok. Ok for return to service.
  15. Yep, still on the CL-65; CRJ-200; Barbie Jet.
  16. Well, some here might be interested in what's been going on with me. I've certainly been absent from the day to day stuff here. Well, I got married in 2004 and have been living in South Bend, IN. My company has moved my domicile to Philadelphia but I don't know anything about the city. I never leave the airport really. I just fly in, do my trips, and commute back to South Bend. It's been a real pain in the ass really as it keeps me away from my new family way more than I want. But I've been enjoying a new house (ok, new to me) and being a stepdad. I have two step-daughters now and I'm lovin it. Ashleigh is 13 and is into showing horses in Western and English. Yes, I muck the stalls when necessary. She does several shows through the spring and summer that culminate in August with the local county 4-H fair. Now, I had no idea how big the fair really was. I was thinking it was just a few good old boys and their tractors and pigs gettin together. Man, it is a sight! And I thoroughly enjoy helping Ashleigh show her horse. My younger step-daughter is Rachael and she's 10. She's a pistol with lots of energy. She started out showing horses like her sister but has stopped that so she can get into competitive swimming. Less than one year ago she couldn't even dive into a pool and her freestyle looked more like a swim for survival than exhibiting forward motion but NOW! man she can really move. I'm so proud of her because she has come so far. She just competed in the YMCA state finals and improved on most of her best times. I've been a step-dad for just a year and a half but I love being there for the girls. I feel like I'm making a difference and being a positive influence on them. But they make it easy for me too. They are both straight A students. But one of the most beautiful things in my life is my wife Wendy. She is amazing. We fit well together . She has a can do attitude and she is very active in her daughters upbringing. She takes care of me more than I deserve and I love her. Last fall when Katrina hit she jumped right in to a group that was going to New Orleans to help. While many volunteers went down for a week and wore out she was there right in the beginning and stayed for nearly 3 weeks. She will hate me saying this but she has difficulty with her right leg. It was severed in a motorcycle accident in March of 2000. Her life would have been easier had they just amputated it but they did save her leg. They had to take muscles from her stomach (she only has a 3 pack instead of a 6 pack now) to rebuild her leg. She spent much time in a wheel chair while the bones in her leg were stretched. She is still one inch shorter on the right than the left. She's not supposed to spend more than 6 hours (non-consecutive) on her leg per day but she did 16 hour or more days while down there. She knew she only had one chance to help those people right and nothing was going to stand in her way of doing what she felt she needed to. Just before Wendy and I got married she had an operation to untie her tubes so that we could try to have a child together. There is risk involved but she wanted it for us. 3 weeks after we were married one of her tubes burst with a tubal pregnancy (which is from the higher risk after such an operation) and she nearly bleed out had we not gotten her in when we did. After that getting pregnant became a very large challenge. But finally, just over a year after we were married we got pregnant again and it stuck! She's now 23 weeks and it's a boy! I'm gonna be a dad and I'm looking foward to it so much. We've been going nuts getting baby stuff and getting a room ready for him. Attached is the only baby photo I have yet but I'm a proud pappa and have to show off. And not sure if you can tell what the bedding is but this child is doomed. PLANES PLANES PLANES!!!! 17. I did nothing. But I am based in PHL now. How did you know?
  18. Is there a DZ in that area? Looking at that photo it does not look like there is a step on the right main gear so this probably doesn't fly jumpers anymore. I'll ask the mods to remove this thread then. The registration info says the registration was cancelled in 2003. Why there is no new registration I don't know. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  19. This tail number does not list ANY registration on the website I normally look at for such info. This aircraft was involved in a jump plane accident 6-22-1996 Mendota, CA. Any more information would be appreciated as to whether THIS accident was skydiving related or is currently flying for a dropzone. 21. Yah, it's a bummer. But not as much of a bummer as losing 5 friends in a C-206 accident 8 years ago. http://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/brief.asp?ev_id=20001211X09633&key=1 Kudos to SDC staff for not pushing to put up more loads with a less than 100% aircraft.
