They Stopped the Chop! Nice to see Biggio & Bagwell win a series and keep moving on after their many years with the Astros. They are going to be severely tested against the Cardinals...especially with the Cards able to set up their rotation and the Astros unable to get Clemens and Oswalt going until Game 3 & 4. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Here's an article about the restoration of the Star Wars films for the recent DVD release. 600 G5 PowerMacs and a 378 Terabyte data array were used. What comes after a terabyte? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Good luck Adam. Quitting smoking was hell for me but one of the best things I've ever done. I was a heavy smoker for 16 years (more than a pack a day) and I passed 21 years of not smoking last May. Small digital camera with remote shutter release?
murrays replied to tkhayes's topic in Photography and Video
good question.. and yes. that's the hope... don't want a tether... yet in 10 years of doing video I've never faced a situation like that.. More so,,,, the break in the wire,, allows for ease of donning and removing the helmet. The pendant and its lead,,, stay in the jumpsuit sleeve... After a while though,, the molex connect can get a bit sloppy and the damn thing can seperate during a jump ......... so keep an eye on it... If you consider this system,,, be sure not to short yourself the distance you need from the helmet end of the wire,,to get from your jawline to a place comfortably inside the front of your jumpsuit... ( you only get to cut the wire,,, Once!!!! -
You may have to use Image Capture. It should be in your applications folder. Try it out. Does the camera mount as a disk on your desktop when you plug it in? If it does you should be able to drag the images off the disk to your desktop...then you can drag them into iPhoto. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Small digital camera with remote shutter release?

Thanks Jimmy, Would the connector come apart if you had to jettison the helmet? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey -
Andyman, you'll have to change your name to Weegee if you do that. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

I did this with a buddy of mine a while ago. Some posts are in this thread. We didn't have any problems but some people have reservations about doing this. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

I bought my first slr in 1975. I have boxes of negatives and slides I can basically do nothing with unless I spend weeks scanning. And, after I scan I spend hours in Photoshop getting rid of dust, scratches, etc. One of our local jumpers just bought himself a Digital Rebel. He hasn't done much photography before. He's been blasting off tons of shots learning the camera functions...but also learning composition and creativity and this isn't costing him a ton of money in processing fees. His images will never collect dust or get scratched. I wish I was starting photography with a digital camera. Digital is the only way to go. Just back everything up regularly. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Jimmy, Thank-you very much for the information and photos. Do you have a photo of the "molex" connector? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey -
Use your teeth man or better yet, hook your chin over the strut. Do it for the team I've done that taking a bipole off a 182....stand up and push against the wing with your head/neck/shoulders....then take your grips....it's pretty funky...and likely would be pretty difficult with the extra drag of the wingsuit. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Bill, Just curious....approximately how many Skyhook activations have been reported to you? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

I guess I'm lucky that I only saw the original movie a couple of times, never saw Empire Strikes back and only saw Return of the Jedi once when it was released. I bought the set for my kids to have these classics and have thoroughly enjoyed watching all three movies over the last week or so. I never knew the originals so the changes made don't bother me...I think they are all very good flicks as presented on the DVD. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

This is a trashplane....(see attached) biplane with the bottom canopy stalled....and it's my rodeo rider friend on top. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

My buddy has over 5,000 jumps and was very careful to just hold my yoke and use his knees on my thighs to hold himself on. When he dumped he came off my back as smooth and clean as you could wish for...no bumps, no nothing just the feeling of him leaving my back. No pc hesitation. IMO, Having people roll off to the side when you have others tracking with you is far more dangerous...they can catch a wing and turn you sideways to the line of flight and they become sitting ducks for the people tracking behind. I appreciate your concern but this is far from the stupidest thing we've done together over the years...crw on our reserves after a double intentional cutaway, trashplanes, breaking off downplanes low enough that we lifted our feet when we swung back under our mains. This was pretty tame by comparison. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Ron, There are lots of utilities available on the Mac platform to allow you more freedom in transferring songs from the iPod to a computer, etc. I am sure there are just as many for the Windows platform...this search on Versiontracker turns up two pages of hits for iPod. Take a look at how manual updating works in the iTunes help...it may be useful to you. The New Strong "Flinger" (or something..) System.....
murrays replied to Unstable's topic in Gear and Rigging
These sound like new and improved pack opening bands. I would think that a properly packed reserve that is of a compatible size should deploy with no problems from any of today's rigs as long as the pilot chute catches air. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey -

Nice shots. I did a rodeo with an old buddy a couple of weeks ago and had him dump out while still on my back. That was pretty cool. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

What would separate the "Pro" body from the "Pro-sumer" body then?
