As Lori mentions above, the Apple Camera Connector will do the trick...Here's the verbiage from Apple Store... Simply plug the iPod Camera Connector into the iPod dock connector, plug your camera's USB cable and watch your images make their way to the iPod, ready to view in a slide show! Compatible with iPod with color display. Requires iPod photo software v1.1 or later. Go to www.apple.com/ipod/download to download the most recent iPod updater software. Compatible with iPod with video. See www.apple.com/support/ipod/photos for supported cameras. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

From a thread linked on Macrumors regarding the first OS X Virus: You can read all of it here. --------->>> You cannot be infected by this unless you do all of the following: 1) Are somehow sent (via email, iChat, etc.) or download the "latestpics.tgz" file 2) Double-click on the file to decompress it 3) Double-click on the resulting file to "open" it ...and then for most users, you must also enter your Admin password. You cannot simply "catch" the virus. Even if someone does send you the "latestpics.tgz" file, you cannot be infected unless you unarchive the file, and then open it. ---->>>>> In order to install, you have to be logged in as an Admin user or enter an Admin password. I just set up a new user as Admin and removed my Admin privileges from my regular account. Just to protect my self from myself in case I should somehow come in contact with this before a fix is available. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

As already mentioned dual core gives you two processors. I looked at a Dell laptop with the same processor chip and it also has 667 Front Side Bus. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Don't give up! My grandfather had 2 brothers who moved to Australia about the time my grandfather emigrated to Canada...1905 or so. Over time, the connection was lost. All my life I wondered if I had any Aussie relatives. About 5 years ago, my cousin's husband was in an online genealogy chat room and a person came on looking for "John Stevens, Plumstead, England" - this was the name of my grandfather's father! Well, it was someone from the Australian side looking for Canadian and English relatives! I've since met my Aussie cousin and know there are lots more to meet. You never know, serendipity sometimes strikes! In my case, a connection lost for nearly a century was found again. If there are any genealogy clubs or groups near you see if someone can give you a hand. There are people that will search for you for pay, but lots of others that will help for free. Good luck! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

It's an excuse to go drinking in the winter. It's actually a lot of fun and is much more of a finesse and strategy sport than you'd think. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

For what you want to do iPhoto's tools might well be enough. I think you should try out iPhoto before dropping a bunch of $$$ on Aperture. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

I am waiting for my copy to arrive and I will try to convert it to NTSC and let you know if I have any success. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Doesn't matter who did what. She should have put the baby in its car seat. A collision hard enough to set off the airbags would kill a child sitting on her lap. Even something not that hard could result in some injury to an unsecured infant. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

The coldest jump I ever did was a 2-way CRW jump when it was -27C (-17F) on the ground....we got out at 7200' and froze our hands solid...after crying like babies when the frostbitten fingers thawed out we packed up and kept jumping...but only did accuracy jumps from 2,500' after that. My cutoff is when it goes below -20 C at altitude. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

They didn't have to do it for me on my birthday but I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!!! Bernardo has also been named a "Dangerous Offender" which allows the Crown to hold him indefinitely. It's hard to imagine that they're actually opening up lunch bags for inspection. Gosh. But I'll sleep well tonight knowing that I am safe from invading Canadian roast beef sandwiches. My wife's cousin also got raked over the coals over a lunch his wife had packed for him when he crossed into the States a couple of months ago...threatened him with all sorts of heavy shit....it must get boring being a border guard in the middle of nowhere. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

What is the purpose of a condemned's "Final Statement?"

My personal favourite last words were spoken by Carl Panzram, a serial killer, just before he was hanged... "Hurry up, you Hoosier son-of-a-bitch, I could kill 15 men while you're fucking around with that rope." -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey -
They are "announced" but not yet shipping...but i think you will be pleased with your purchase. Last night another jumper friend and I put together a book of photos using the new iPhoto for the family of a friend that died a year and a half ago in a skydiving accident. It worked really slick. I've done books before in previous versions but the new iPhoto is much easier to use. I'm using an old 800mhz G4 iMac and iPhoto is still responsive...it will be real zippy on your new dual core Macbook!!! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Quite a few years ago, in the early 90's, a good friend of mine who is 5'6" and 145 lbs took a tandem passenger up that was 6'7" ... he could have died..... the passenger had his legs straight out behind them which caused them to pitch up and down ... the passenger hooked his leg around the drogue bridle during one of their head down moments .... when the drogue release was pulled ... nothing happened .... he had to fire off the reserve .. which fortunately cleared the drogue and opened but it was a nasty situation. So, the guy's height does warrant some precautions and awareness. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

It will be interesting to see if they can do away with the Gun Registry. The Liberals and NDP will oppose getting rid of it and I doubt that the Bloc Quebecois would support any attempt to remove it as it was the Marc Lepine mass murder of young university women in Montreal that helped precipitate its formation. Depends on what the Conservatives offer the Bloc in return..... -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

I just got my copy of iLife '06 a few days ago. Thus far I haven't been able to do anything with it on the video/DVD end but have used the new iPhoto. I really like the new iPhoto. It has full screen editing with a new compare feature so that you can compare photos side by side, new book templates, new calendar templates, and the ability to create greeting cards and postcards, the ability to hold 250,000 photos (10x increase) and the ability to create "Photocasts" which others can subscribe to. The new iDVD has wide screen templates and looks a bit different but other than that I haven't had the chance to use it for anything....I guess I'll have to get busy and put together some of my widescreen HC42 video into iMovie and then into iDVD to see how it works. That's going to have to wait until I have time. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

The Photo Pro mentioned in the article was a rumored application, the article you referenced was published before Aperture was released. I am certain that "Photo Pro" is Aperture. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Are you thinking of Aperture, Apple's new digital photography post-production program? It looks pretty cool but I don't know if that is something that you would need/use. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Exactly. I will never use UPS to receive anything from the US. US Postal Service is good for some things. For a canopy I would use Fedex Priority Air...brokerage is included in the price, the service is excellent. Our business recently had three priority packages sent by UPS to Saskatoon from Calgary. ALL THREE were delivered to incorrect addresses. We had to go looking for them. In the hundreds of Fedex packages we have sent out only one has not been delivered correctly. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Is this going to be regular UFC rules or will they waive the time limits on the rounds? (The institution of time limits was one reasont Royce quit fighting in the UFC) -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

The missiles were in Cuba because Krushchev thought JFK was weak. When push came to shove, JFK turned out to be stronger than Krushchev realized. (I still remember being in Grade 3 when the Cuban missile crisis was going on....only time in my life I've felt that nuclear war was imminent...everybody was scared) I'd say that Krushchev wouldn't have put missiles in Cuba if he had been dealing with GWB....and Iran wouldn't do something like that either. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

MacBook Pro. Apple will be releasing all computers with Intel processors by the end of the year. So, if a MacBook Pro isn't in the budget, they will be releasing iBook replacements sometime this year. All the iLife applications...iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, etc are now compiled for the Intel chips and will be very fast compared to how they used to run on a G4 processor. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
