I don't know what made me think of this...I went to the PX State Fair this year to see STP and ended up seeing a fried twinkie stand. I'm not lying about this either! They also sold fried Snickers bars...for real! I was so bewildered yet intrigued. I stood around watching the two most unhealthy looking people in the world inside the stand dip twinkies and snickers bars into corn dog batter. Today at work I realized the one thing that my new job lacks...a feeling of connection with my clients. Unlike all of the other places that I've done bodywork, this is the first place where it isn't accepted to hug my clients after a therapy. (I work at a very upscale spa in Phoenix.) This may not sound like a big deal to you...I'm sure that most of your contact is no more than a handshake, at most, in the office. My profession is very different. I make my way through life focusing my energy and intention on the highest and best for each person I touch. I spend a full hour with these people in a fairly vulnerable, intimate setting. It's difficult not to form some sort of special bond with them. Those of you who know me, will probably vouch for the fact that I'm a pretty affectionate person. I love my friends. I love my clients. It looks like this job is going to be very challenging for me. Today I had to sneak a hug in, but found myself checking my back right after. ***okay.....so what kind of major cleanse...are we talking colonics here? not that I'm afraid.......I could do it.....i really could...i think.. __________________________________________________ I went on an all raw diet, took mass amounts of special organic Chinese herbal combinations, daily yoga, meditation and received regular acupunture and massage. That's just what I did. If you are interested in some sort of detox program, I'd recommend listening to your body. Everyone's at a different place healthwise. If you are interested in colonics I would recommend doing a lot of research prior to making an appointment. You best bet would be a referral from a reliable source. If you are open to it, another recommendation for stopping smoking is hypnotherapy. Again, IF YOU ARE READY TO STOP this is the easiest way I know. If you're not ready, you'll spend about $75.00 an hour to get really relaxed and listen to someone talk about how much you hate to smoke.
