My father was at Eniwetok when the bombs went off over Japan. He was to be part of the Japan invasion. He always said that he was glad that they dropped the bomb as he had had enough of war after three years . One thing I do remember him pondering was why they didnt drop leaflets over some place like Tokyo and say watch what we do tomorrow morning at 7 am off your coast.....and drop the bomb there. He wondered , but did agree with the decision. Dad didnt talk much about the war but growing up in Vegas, as I did, there was plenty of talk about nuclear bombs as the test site was so close to our home. bozo Pain is fleeting. I got a bark/shock collar for my female Schnauzer. It works really well when the noisey little bugger is wearing it. She is very smart and knows when its not on and reverts back to her barking. I trained a woman once upon a time.....five staticlines . She did her freefall progression well and we released on her own. 2 years later she had a malfunctioned main...didnt cut away and dumped the reserve into it. She broke literally everything when she hit. A bit later she sued our DZ and every name she could remember for bad training. The court upheld the waiver. bozo Pain is fleeting. Glory lasts forever. Oh man.....I bought one of the first Dolphins with the snaps. What a mistake. I wound up buying a replacement kit and carried a small hammer and snap die to replace the snaps every time I went to the dz as they would pull out. All i know is that's what the doc prescribed after a told him I had a bad fall and pain in my shoulder for over 3 weeks. If taken long term the side effects of this stuff are hardcore! Currently i'm on Hydrocodone.....and if you look at the time I posted this you will see its not working. After my skydiving accident....broke several vertebrae and crushed another....I entered a world of shit. Due to the initial accident....I also received an artificial hip , five years later. I live with unrelenting pain as best I can. A couple months ago my Dr recommended Methadone for the chronic pain and I must say it worked as well as he said it would. I was sleeping all nite for the first time in ten years. I could finally get thru most of a day on one tablet. The big problem arose when I started developing anxiety attacks and at one point started having negative weird thoughts that I couldnt justify...all side effects of the Methadone. I decided to dump that shit and go back to the hydrocodone....at least my thoughts were my own. Trust me when I say....withdrawl from Methadone is a real true bitch. [replyI've had to do CPR twice; both times the guy didn't make it - and it was pretty clear that he wouldn't. I hope I don't have to do it again. I am a trained CPR first responder. I have had the opportunity to do CPR twice......The first time the guy started couging up blood and drowned in his own blood. Car rollover. The second time while I was a supervisor at UNLV. One of my crew people fell off an electric cart and hit his head on the ground. He wasnt breathing... I got him flat and stable , cleared his airway and got him going again. The responsibility is awesome. Rule number one is to know when not to do anything as has been said here before.
