    Quote and Las Vegas has the upjumper population base to support several good DZ. The sad part of this statement is that you really believe it. I jumped in Las Vegas at 7 different DZ businesses. I was a TM/I...SL/JM/I at all of them for 20 years.     I seem to remember that Michael sold teh operation to another person awhile back...     Just some random thoughts. I'm wondering if the oldtimers here....if they did have any real information on Cooper and his whereabouts, would they tell Agent Ckret. I'm betting the negative. In the very early 80s I knew a couple of longtime jumpers , from the Northwest, who swore they knew who Cooper was. They wouldnt say anymore than that. One is now dead and the other has destroyed his brain with drugs (shades of the smuggling days). What do you think.....would ya ...give him up? bozo Pain is fleeting. Glory lasts forever.     As I have said before and I think the old guys here will agree. This jump was entirely doable even for someone with limited skills. Ever wonder why one segment of smokejumpers still uses rounds ? They are great for tree landings. Cooper took a shot......jumped...walked out, called a bud or his girlfriend ,who was in the area, and if hes still alive at his advanced age,is enjoying this immensely. You keep asking us for proof , Ckret , we keep telling you , you are full of shit and that this jump was easily done and surviveable. Let me turn the table....you show some "proof" it wasnt. As Stratostar said....lets see some bones...harness material or canopy. Heres a bit of "proof" the harness canopy could have survived 36 years in the forest. I offer the WWII airmans bodies they keep finding on that glacier year after year.....with intact parachute gear on their bodies. This plane went down in 42. bozo Pain is fleeting.     I saw the 60's and 70's too, but I think the problems associated with meth are even more devastating than the drugs of that area. It's too bad that effective treatment can't even begin to keep up with the escalating drug use today. Meth has the unique ability, from the very first use , to alter the users mind. The other drugs out there do the things they do but do not physically change things. I lost a sister to meth. At fifty years old with everything to live for shes dead. bozo Pain is fleeting.     Is that 66 Whiskey, the Bird machine in that photo ? All the great DC3's I jumped at the Hills. 66W, Lucaya Air, Our Douglas (One Hour Douglas), Southern Cross, Mr.D. I miss 'em. I was down at Perris this year when they fired up the 3 there for "specialty" jumps at $60 a pop. I still get a woody when I hear one cough into life. Since Bill Dause turned his into a bar complete with stripper pole and parked it up, I don't get to jump one on a regular weekly basis any more.... ------------------------------------------------------- Lets not forget Agent Orange .
