  1. Under a fairness doctrine principle, the communist, socialist, green, and other political party views (including the silly party) should also have to be fairly represented. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  2. You say that as if they are unique in their opposition to opposing views. The desire to impose the fairness doctrine is exactly what you are complaining about, but being imposed by the ultra left. Also, I do want to claim that I am not a member of the ultra right. That may surprise you, but I assert it to be true. Hopefully, there will be a viable 3rd or 4th political party before too long. If only we could take the politics out of politics. 4. Actually, that did happen. Anwar Sadat of Egypt did it. He had a true change of heart, despite being previously leading a war against Israel. Where are the current day leaders of the Arab world that are willing to do the same? Israel responded to Sadat's gesture with the same good will. Compare that to the intifada declared by Arafat after he rejected the negotiations that Clinton brokered, when Arafat's own negotiators recommended they be accepted. The Arab world didn't want to live with what the victors decided after WWII ended. Well, I say tough shit. They were looking for a fight, figuring that they would easily win. They were wrong, and continue to want to cancel their defeat with more war. That only works if they are able to win a war. 5. Liberals would never accept that there is unbalanced opinion on those media outlets. Bill Moyers, Travis Smiley, even Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me and the Prarie Home Companion are full of political/editorial content, and we pay for it with tax dollars on PBS/NPR. Dan Rather just about cried when he had to report that the Congress had switched in '94. 6. I wouldn't be nearly so generous. He lies, a lot, including a made-up newspaper cover story: http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/7/30/204734.shtml It has been posted before, but I still don't think many realize how completely full of intentional deceit the Farneheit 911 movie was. Here are 59 good examples: http://www.davekopel.com/Terror/Fiftysix-Deceits-in-Fahrenheit-911.htm Perhaps his Sicko movie is not so full of lies, but I wouldn't expect it given his history. It's wrong when either side does it. Why not just expose the lies/deceit with the truth? When you get caught using lies/deceit to expose the lies/deceit, it destroys his credibility, which is needed if you are going to be such a champion of the little guy. 7. You can go see a tacit blue at the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum: http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=353 Among others, they also have a dark star: http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=616 and a bird of prey (appropriately named): http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=348 and an X-36: http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=358 People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 8. Parents can be assholes, but there are some ridiculous things the umpires do. For example, the 14 year old ump working the infield called a force out at 2nd base, despite the fact that the throw pulled the fielder about 3 feet off the base when he caught it. Our coach asked the home plate ump for his opinion, all he was willing to say was that the infield ump made the call. After the coach gave up trying to get the home ump to overrule the call, the home ump walked up to the infield ump and said he was pulled off the base (sometimes you can read lips). I cannot understand why he let the collective ego of umps get in the way of making the right call. Another time a kid I know admitted that he screwed up a game by calling a force out when it wasn't actually a force out. He was admitting this to me the following day. I asked him why he didn't change his call, he had no explanation, I guess he didn't want to admit it was ego. 9. The umpires for my kid's games have always been paid, even though the umpires can be as young as 14. I think they get $25 for 2 hours. 10. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Can we agree on MIL SPEC rubber bands that are rated for 40 pounds? Is that the specification? Sounds great in theory. Do you think many stows that are actually installed on rigs would withstand that? It seems that most people really need to make their locking stows stretch when closing the bag. This often results in the bands tearing, but not breaking. I've found that sometimes I can't even install a band without tearing it. There is no way a pre-torn band can withstand 40 pounds. Such rigs with tight d-bags usually break their locking stows quite often, which means they might be breaking before line stretch (very bad). I think most people do not replace their locking stows because of such tears. 11. If you have almost 100K miles on it, then you should be having to pay extra for the timing belt service, which is more expensive for the 6 cylinder. The rear styling is really nice for the previous generation Accord coupes - meant to emulate the Acura NSX, especially the taillights. For GQjumper and others, here's some spy pics of the '08 Accord coupe and sedan. http://www.vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=689703 I can't stand the way the way the exterior stylists want to have the upper/outer corners of head and taillights extend around to a sharp corner. The front end looks bulbous (that's supposed to make it look high class), and some of the lines just seem to not be right, oh well...still like the '98 to '02 generation Accord the best. It is really sad for Honda they now have 2 generations of Accord that have gone down hill in terms of styling. 12. You should know that the term "coupe" means a 2 door. 4 door cars are called sedans. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  13. Among other Hondas, I have an '02 Accord. I find the Honda 4 cyl engines do very well with no lack of power and you don't give up anything in terms of smoothness. V6 engines are very cramped under the hood, weigh more (handle worse) and are more expensive to maintain. The new generation of Accord is due out this fall, which means really good deals are available now. I like the exterior and interior of of the '98 - '02 generation Accord much more than the current generation. The current Civic is fantastic, I actually like it more than the current Accord, which has never been the case previously. 14. Even that will not tell you the whole story.. For example, I lookd up a Car I am interested in on Edmunds. 2007 Accord Coupe V6 (With Nav). MSRP is $30,095 Invoice is $27,312 TMV is $26,734 How can TMV be less than Invoice?? Factory Incentives. What you are not told unless you check a site like Edmunds is that the Factory is Paying the Dealer an Incentive of almost $2,000 for every one of these cars they move. So even when the dealer pulls out the "Actual Invoice" to show you what a great deal you are getting.. You could still do better. I wonder if the Accord is a bit of a special case right now, since the new generation (not just the next model year) is due out soon. 17. To suggest double stowing all bands without knowing how tight they are when normally stowed is incredibly stupid, in my opinion. That advise would have many people installing longer bands, just so that they can double stow. Also, double stowing the locking stows will put even more stress on them. You really don't want the locking stows to break before line stretch. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 20. Not always true for highway mileage. Some cars will have an overall gear ratio resulting in a lower engine speed for the automatic vs manual transmission version of the same car. I know this was definitely true of my old Honda Civic based on numbers listed in the owners manual, and is likely why the current Civic with auto tranny is estimated to get 1 mpg better highway mileage than the manual version. Their website doesn't list overall gear ratios. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 22. My memory is that diesels run hotter because they have such a higher compression ratio, and the higher temps and pressure associated with the combustion at a higher compression ratio inherently produces more NOx. The efficiency of an internal combustion engine increases as the temperature of the combustion increases, so diesels (compression ignition engines) will always be able to be more efficient than what a spark ignition engine with an inherently limited compression ratio can deliver. What hybrids do not have transmissions? I didn't realize the eternal battery had been developed. Come on now, not even the manufacturers of brushless motors imply they will last forever. It doesn't matter if what fails can be called an "inherent wearout mechanism" or whatever. Batteries, brushless dc motors and their associated controls do fail. 24. Diesels run cooler? I think diesels should be required to have the exhaust pipe exit on top of the hood. People claim that the newer VWs don't blow soot, but I've seen new TDIs that certainly do. You can still get Honda Civics powered by compressed natural gas (standard from the factory). That would be a good choice, I think. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 25. I would start with that. It's a good reality check - just to see how many people are going to support their opinion with something like $1000/month in taxes. Want to create a poll? :) No way would it be anywhere near that much. I really didn't think it all came down to money. I thought things were much deeper than that.
