Sure, you'll hear about many things on NPR, but their reporting is very often extremely biased. Their own ombudsman has admitted to their trouble with being fair and balanced. I still listen to NPR a lot, it doesn't seem to me his efforts to fix that have worked. I still have a very vivid memory of a story on NPR a couple years ago that was an interview of a soldier that had recently returned from Iraq. The correspondent started the story by saying that the soldier "still could not see the light at the end of the tunnel". A little later the interview actually started. I was surprised to hear his story of support for the war, and inspiring stories of how he thought things were improving so much. I always thought the timing of the runner passing home didn't matter as long as the batter was out at first, as opposed to getting out at second base attempting to get a double.
