  1. 46 jumps? I suspect your previous training will come greatly in to affect in the not too distant future My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  2. mmmm...ditto! Nothing better than mind-blowing awesome sex and then curling up and falling asleep like that. I gotta agree with both of you on this one.. Cept hopefully My arms are the strong ones Cheers My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  3. Skate boarding and Gymnastics and extreme skiing as a teen. Occasional bouts of Skateboarding through out life. Rollerskating in rinks and on ramps. Bicycles... bmx and mountain bikes. cardio kick boxing and climbing around on things. Now I'm lazy and out of shape. So the plan is to start climbing again and perhaps get my sorry ass to a gym just so I can hike for six hours for a 10 second delay. 4. WOW!!! cool article. Thanks man My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  5. What year VX do you jump? I've jumped a 70 vx many times but it was an old one. Unbelievably high front riser pressure. Has that changed? I'll look into that one as well. I put 50 jumps on a 79 a few years ago it was nice. Contend contend!... by all means. I'm just another skydiver. It's all good. We all teach each other. There's a reason you jump the c2. I hope to be pleasantly surprised. The 1 just didn't do it for me. Perhaps I wrote in the wrong tone which was not my intent but WTF, I'm not writer nor am I am editor. Thanks for The input. When the fog goes away, I'll go fly some new school technology and try to write about it. C-ya My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  6. Ah no worries then! I by no means think I'm flying the best. It's pretty damn good though. I agree on the later part of the surf. You need to finish sooner on a stiletto. Since my tendency is to go pretty balls out on the approach, it will surf quite well. I'd like to take that energy and put it to use on a newer model. I'm certainly interested in flying the 2 to check it out. If that darn 65 wasn't so uncomfortable to inflate, I would have bought it. But what the heck, since I spent All my Canopy money on Large 7 cells designed to open rapidly, I'll need to do more AFF dives to pay for a new High performance canopy any way. The question is..... which one ??? HMMmmmm.... Cheers My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  7. Personal attack? I think so. Dude it's all good. If we were discussing this over a beer we'd be having a good conversation. My stiletto has been much more fun to fly than many other parachutes. However during landing, it takes some skill to get out of it what I can get out of it. Keep in mind I can swoop a spectre 150 a pretty fair distance to. It certainly is not my canopy of choice. Ok, reasons I like it. - It opens consistently and softly at every freefall speed I throw at it. - Snappy turns -Great floatability. I can easily walk all over a lightly loaded saber 150, Spectre what ever. That is lots of fun and I'd be bummed if I couldn't play in the air with my friends because im jumping an "icarus small" (don't take that entirely literal... you get the point) - Even loaded at 1.8 I can still sink it into tight places..(Note that this is not a comfortable landing) - good glide ratio. - Swoops well. Example: Shore to shore and then some on the small pond in Perris. - It's not ground hungry. Reasons I would replace it. - With the same radical amount of input, another parachute will swoop further. - If similar flight characteristics are available I'd prefer farther swoops with less input. - Small parachutes highly loaded (example cobalt comp 65 at 2.6 ish) is just plain fun. Other reasons I keep it. - it works. - it works well - I already own it. - It doesn't hurt me to open it at high speeds. Ive dumped in stand ups and in full on head downs and it was friendly. (it was way past the altitude to where I should have opened) -------- I still have loads of confidence in the stilletto. But would I prefer it if I could go faster? uh... Yeah of course. Put it this way, I loved the flight characteristics of the 65 cobalt comp, but that particular parachute did not open satisfactorily. I am singling out that exact parachute because I haven't flown another since. I put tons of jumps on it and it flew great and swooped like an even more powerful motherfucker. I was not satisfied with the Crossfire one. I loved the small xoas but it's ground hungry. I like the Velocity but it too is some what ground hungry and I like snappier turns. In my opinion the Vengeance is just plain ole boring to fly. .. I asked that question as a legitamate question. If I was near your DZ i'd drink a beer with you and talk about it. I do want to know other's opions of why they like or dislike a canopy or other component. If I were to say a particular parachute sucks ass, wouldn't you want to know why I thought that? Dude I'll fly with you any day and also sit around after hours with you any day if we ever meet. Unfortunately I have to get back to work now so with out edit or proofread or time to fine tune my thoughts I'll send this. Cheers. ...... 8. Ive yet to jump the Crossfire2. I really want to fly it not only to see how much it's improved but to see how FAR it blows the stiletto away and why that statement was made. In my opinion the original crossfire sucked hard! I believe I have enough test jump experience to make that assesment, but really, what the heck do I know. It's not fair to compare a crossfire1 to any thing since it basically was a P.O.S. (I.M.N.S.H.O) It had some good characteristics but no way was I going to fly one. New parachutes are cool. I have had the oppurtunity to jump Lots of parachutes. Stiletto's still rock. I like other parachutes better in some areas but not in others. That's another post all together. This year I plan to jump several types of parachutes so when I decide to finally replace mine, (and I do plan to replace it and not with another stiletto) there will be enough information to make a wise purchase. If it's all about how far I can swoop, I'd make one choice, but that will not be the only reason. LOTS pf parachutes Swoop like a mother fucker. Especially given a good pilot that can actually utilize it's potential. Parachutes have come along ways but some manufacturers sacrifice certain flight characteristics in lieu of others. Sometime it's a painful sacrifice. I don't ever dismiss opinions on a wing but Certainly it needs to be backed up at least a little bit with an.. "I did this, and this happened" sort of thing. I can take those opinions in the air with me to understand why that opinion was given. Yo Freeflyz, how does the Crossfire 2 blow away the stiletto? I believe you and everything but I'd like any input that you may have. I plan to demo one in in a month. Bye for now T My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  9. Oh come now, you mean 2 1/2 to 3 hours in the back of a pickup isn't enough sleep for 3 days? You softie Cheers My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

  14. ..it's been known to happen,... alot. but I'm worthless after the special ones so before just chowing down, I had to ask Good times My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  15. Only better because after landing, people come up and give you things like cookies and hugs and stuff. Gotta watch out for the baked goods though Tim My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  16. perhaps it's not wise to post right after powering down a double (probably a triple) mocha. If you have some bandwidth look at the video at the upper left under "The build". That's a video of a fairly tame swoop due to the masses of people that were there. Burning Sky
  17. Squish the knot in several directions with pliers or something of the sort. This will help to loosen up the knot. If you're just storing it, tie it closed with any thing Tim My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

  20. Funny you should say that. I can get over a foot ball field length swoop out of My stiletto. The Cobalt (comp model any way) does have more lift at the end though. I like em both but prefer landing a heavily loaded cobalt competition. The openings (on that particular parachute I haven't tried different one yet) were fairly brutal which is why I still have my stiletto. Have fun. 21. Reline it! I have 3000 jumps on my stiletto. It still has lots of life in it. This is not uncommon. (consider having a new slider put on it at the same time) Tim My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  22. If it's not coated, then I believe you are on the right track. Get the exact line length spec, and have them replaced as you already mentioned. Premature wear can be heavily affected by the running through the guide ring like in the photo you sent for the Triple riser post. (This is not a suggestion to use triples it's a good photo to show the friction point). There probably is no bur on the ring as you stated already, but just for the sake of understanding, if it can be felt with your finger, then the burr is HUGE. Opening shock and flaring out of the corner (cuz we get in the corner sometimes) creates the most force on the line. If the line breaks on opening, no big deal. If the line breaks on landing? That's another story. Good luck Tim My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  23. I can change that. but what's the point My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  24. Less tail deflection during front riser approaches. MUCH Less brake line wear since it's not dragging against the guide ring. Rear riser landings can very well be done by using the rear risers. There is no trouble swooping on just toggle input when you get to the point of learning how to swoop. Very comfortable to fly with. They take some jumps to get used to. Open collapse the slider and pull it down behind your head. Then clear the brakes as per usual. Some people like em some don't. Some don't have a clue they even exist. I like them and wouldn't jump regular risers on a skydiving rig. But what do I know? Try em see if you like em. Give them a chance. (yes I've seen the profile) Edit to add loosen the chest strap after the slider is down , as already suggested. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
