  1. Pretty juvenile doc and others........ Yea........Yea.......but you said this once...... The thread was started intentionally to demean an individual and hasten (or celebrate) their potential death. I mean Lush Rimjob, says enough. Nice try to deflect the topic at hand, but then again that's what some do. Don't let facts get in the way. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  2. Let me make myself perfectly clear..... T-T-T-T-TROLL.............. buh bye........ "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  3. drug problems and is a racist as discovered by his McNabb remarks*** I rolled my eyes when he said the McNabb thing and when he dabbled in football. I can only take him in small doses. As far as any drug problem, it's funny the hard left expected conservatives to abandon him, when in fact they rallied around him, we all have problems. Troll on.........and have a nice day! "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  4. Real nice dude, you can join the raindance over at MSNBC. Don't be a troll.........or a tool.......... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  5. Not a scary story, but probably my coolest story.....hope it counts. In 2000 I was invited to jump with a certain military demo team, mainly due to the fact I sponsored them for a demo related to my civilian job and I had a USAF reserve ID card. I took good care of them (free Hooter's food and beer) and got them real good hotel rooms. We were jumping a Blackhawk at a civilian airport, I spotted a load at 13 grand. After some really crappy RW work I tracked and pulled. I had a hard opening and a couple lines broke on the StarTrac I was jumping (their gear). I chopped it and landed about 2 miles off the DZ. I landed on a farm with a long driveway leading to a farmhouse. After rolling up my reserve I started walking to the house to use the phone. While walking I heard a unique noise, looking up there is the UH-60 Blackhawk circling at about 1000 feet. I figured they were just seeing if I was okay, just then you could see the helo setting up a landing approach FOR THE FARMERS DRIVEWAY! The pilot executed a flawless approach and landing in the farmers driveway. This area has alot of helicopters flying around (hint, hint) so the farmer didn't even flinch. He just looked down his driveway and waved. They picked up the somewhat chunky USAF reservist who had driven his police cruiser to the drop zone. Of course they made fun of me as we looked for the free bag and the main. After flying around a while we found the main in a tree and the freebag in a nearby field. again we landed in another farm field with the locals barely noticing, My first cutaway was truely a unique (not particularly scary) experience! 6. Just retired this month after 27yrs, 4 active 23 Guard/Reserve USAF. It sucked juggling two careers, each suffered somewhat from the other. When I turn 60 I'll have two pensions (unless the govt. goes broke), I'm already drawing one. Take my word for it, y'all got your tax dollars worth out of me (police and military). With that said I would'nt trade it for anything (some in my family may differ slightly). I got to do some real cool stuff, traveled ALOT, and met many life long friends. It was a fun ride, but it was definately time for me to get off and go fishing with my 6 year old.......... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  7. The blind leading the blind!*** It's called Government, the same one many want running their health care. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  8. Don't feed the trolls............. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  9. When training new recruits, the first thing I would tell them is that they can do everything right and still end up dead. Proper tactics, mindset, and training go a long way in preventing things but they too have limitations. A bad guy with a weapon, makes a 911 call and hides in the bushes to ambush is an example. Good habits and situational awareness can't prevent something you can't see. These officers were caught unaware and that's a shame, you can't be everything all the time. I just taught good habits and situational awareness. One time while traveling I walked into a roadside greasy spoon to get something to eat. I was in civilian clothes by myself, this older waitress led me to my seat. She put the placemat and silverware down at my table and asked if I wanted something to drink. She came back to the table and said "can I ask you a question?" I said sure. "Are you a cop?" I asked her how she knew and she said "when you sat down you turned the placemat around and sat with your back against the wall and looked around kinda funny. Then I noticed everytime someone comes in you look them up and down. I've been doing this a long time and all you cops are the same". She said that with a smile. I didn't even realize I was doing it. That's what I mean by good habits, practicing small survival skills unconsciously. I've been in this game well over 20yrs, the bad thing that happened to those officers could have happened to me untold numbers of times over the years. The LEO community will learn from this, but unfortunately something similiar will happen (ambush) again. Let's just hope it's not of this scope. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  10. The APD officer with whom I rode was what I would suggest as the epitome of a good cop. If I had to call the APD at 3AM, he’s the officer who I would want responding. He has 3 years on the APD and 12 years prior on the police force of a midsize midwestern city. At one point, I asked if he did all the civilian ride alongs because I speculated the Sgt intentionally chose the officer who would be seen as the best representative of the APD. Not so according to him. *** Most of our guys didn't like having ride-along's, but they acted professionally because that's what they do. Some guys enjoyed ride-alongs, I did and would take them often. I would recommend writing a short note/card to the officers supervisor commending the officers professionalism and candor. Also request that a copy of the note be put in his personnel file. Glad to see your enjoying the CPA, I used to enjoy instructing at ours. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  11. Don't feed the trolls!!!!!!!!!!!! "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  12. That's the best reply you've ever given, and true! "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  13. And yes you can die from extreme pain.*** Yes, that why it's called "less lethal" instead of non-lethal. Any application of force has the potential for injury. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  14. Nice try, You tried to deflect a little off topic, using a tired argument you've used NUMEROUS times before.........yawn........... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  15. A buddy and I were doing an airshow demo in 2001, it was about an hour or so drive. When we got there the show coordinator came up to us, looking kind of dejected. We asked him what was wrong and he told us the 182 we were going to jump, was out of annual and not available. He told us he was sorry we made the drive (it was a pro bono demo), and asked us if we'd be willing to jump those, pointing to two absolutely cherry Stearman biplanes. We looked at each other, hiding our giddiness and said "geez, if we have to"........... We flew formation and I spotted off the rear of the wing, while talking to the pilot. My buddy was flying trail, when he saw me go he went. We ended up with a perfect flag jump, with both planes circling us. Sure beat a 182........... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  16. Amadou Diallo, armed only with a wallet, shot 42 times by cops. Ooops - my mistake, the cops did show restraint, they only shot him 41 times. *** Apples, meet oranges.......... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  17. 1994 Yamaha V-max, I love the look on the faces of the young crotch-rocket riders, when a middle ages guy, on a 15 year old bike, wearing a collared Tommy shirt, blows by them............... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  18. dude, Are you my brotha, from anotha mutha? "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  19. Again, Neither you or I know what what the situation actually was. One thing I won't do, is rely on one line from a media report. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  20. That is hardly a "police beating" as the title of the video suggests. It unfortunate that this happened however, a 5 second video hardly tells the total situation. If knocking someone to the ground is a beating, then I've done that several times. I did get sued (in the end he lost) for tackling a guy once, he said in his deposition that I had good form, go figure. I tackled him after he struck and then fought one of my officers. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  21. You know his buddies are busting his chops really bad....... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  22. A cop's gotta stay in control. If they lose it, they should not be cops. No matter what happens. it's the very definition of what the job should be. Thanks, I retired from the city after 21 yrs, I did get a good pension. Now I work as a University Officer, it's uh lets say......much.....much ......different than working in the city. My main point is a beating is one thing, a couple of blows AS the pursuit ends is a different matter. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  23. +1 I will give police the benifit of the double every time. Of course there are bad ones but, most of us do not live in the world they are in. Until proven otherwise, they did the right thing *** I've been in several pursuits and the one thing I will say is some officers common sense goes out the window during pursuits. To me it's a question of professionalism and being able to stay calm and think clearly. During many of my pursuits I was worried about other cops almost as much as the bad guy. I worked in a area with multiple agencies and some of the pursuits looked like the Blue's Brothers. I was very concerned that another officer would wreck into me more than anything else, when there are mutiple units converging on one spot it can (and does) happen I've seen it. It's easy to armchair quarterback a pursuit, but until you've been there and understand the dynamics and dangers, don't be so quick to judge one or two blows as the pursuit ends. The Birmingham video is somewhat different, the guy is obviously unconscious. I understand they are pissed that the guy tried to run over an officer but again, it's a question of professionalism. BTW, when I was a supervisor I called off more pursuits then I was ever involved in. Many departments policies are limiting pursuits due to the danger and potential civil liability. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  24. Makes for an excellent form tackle........ Good job Navy! "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  25. Raking leaves for $2.10 an hour in the fall. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
